Oh it was a boss theme! Man, really love the OST in this game. It’s not the usual heavy handed-epic music you hear in most JRPGs, it just feels like an adventure that you enjoy at your own pace.
@@misterextender4131 it’s a “mini-boss” theme though. So not a crazy intense boss theme, but a theme that plays for special enemies other than the typical ones

both games are made by gust, so it can explain the similarities. Ryza has a more relaxed calm mood to it while blue reflection is futuristic with a faster tempo
This gives me Ys VIII Sunshine Coastline vibes, which is a massive complement since that is, no exaggeration, my favorite song in a video game soundtrack ever.
@@ventolivre6945 Tbh I think this track is better than that- much more interesting and memorable melody, more kickass drums and guitar that stand out, whereas Sunshine Coastline is high energy but all kinda blends and isn’t memorable or catchy... just my opinion. A lot of Falcom songs sound amazing but don’t have that catchy melody/structure/progression for me
@@zoozbuh I know exactly what you mean. There is clarity in these songs that simply isn't there in Falcom, both in instrumentation and production. I've played through both Trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2 and there is a lot of good music but it pales in comparison. Again of course opinions only, but I'm pleased to see someone who sees what I see. :)
@@ventolivre6945 My favorite Ys track is probably Valestein Castle from Oath in Felghana. The power metal is so rich and high energy, and it's the first song I think of when I think of Ys.
Ryza's Combat motifs are effectively the inverse of Mick Gordon's compositions for Doom in that instead of Hyping you up with intense fury, getting your adrenaline system working on overdrive, This battle motif urges you to relax, to go through your motions at your pace.
And for this particular song, even the title gives positive vibes like, "this is only a small setback you got this!" I really like the parallel you made with Doom. Ryza is such a feel good series the music just goes so hard and the vibes are wholesome and relaxing. Ryza's personality just gives that hope that everything is going to be alright.
I think it is interesting that most people either love this game or think that it is one of the worst Atelier trilogy. I wonder why the huge gap between opinions. I love some of its songs though.
At least this second arc has the usual Atelier battle BGM vibe (but its more towards Blue Reflection's vibe) . The last one feel a little bit dull somehow. Will be waiting for this arc when it come out. Moreover the ending guitar part before looping back is similar to Bang Dream's Mou Ichido ending part.

This game is looking good! I loved the first Atelier Ryza including its OST and I can't wait to play the 2nd one!
I like how it's the next step up from Battle Theme 2 in the first game.
Im hyped for Ryza 3 ost
