- Chris and Wendy from Meeple Overboard show you how to play Splendor with the Orient expansion module. Within Cities of Splendor, you receive four modules, and only one can be added to the base game at a time. The Orient adds a second market of cards with special powers and unique costs.
Thank you - this helped remind me how to play orient - cheers
Helpful video, thanks for posting! And I enjoyed watching you play the game! =]
How does noble reservation card work?
I loved this video, it was great help, but I have a question..... Can you use the bag card with one of the Orient cards that have 2 wild tokens?
Off hand I don't have the rules, but my gut says no. I imagine the rules say they have to be slid under a permanent gem card, whereas the 2-Wild Card is temporary. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed.
I had this exact question.
The description in the rule book states “this card is worth 1 bonus matching the bonus of the card it is paired with.” So I think the at would mean you can do that. But I wish it was something they added to the rules. I may just disclaim it at the beginning of the game and see what the group agrees on. House rules! Haha
Assuming that you buy a card that you need to discard 2 bonuses cards (like the last one in the video) and in that way, you do not conform with the requirements of an already retrieved noble. Would you still keep the noble or you have to return it?
Thanks
@@6Ligma it's not specified by the rules. So theoretically you need to fulfill the requirement only in order gain the noble.
Discarding cards must prioritize gems with attached bags (losing double value)
I noticed at the end of the game at 15 minutes and 25 seconds in the girl takes the card from the expansion that gives 2 wilds to buy another card and uses it but does not pay for the remainder of the gems needed to acquire that card, any particular reason for this?
At 12:49 the guy took his 4th red card and also took a noble which was cheating because he made 2 actions on one turn ..... Not fair .... Auto disqualified the girl won
Thanks for watching Zak. I looked it up to make sure, but gaining a Nible is an automatic thing that happens at the end of a turn. Per the rulebook:
The noble tiles are visible in the middle of the table. At the
end of their turn, a player automatically receives the visit from
a noble if that player has the amount of bonuses (and only
bonuses) required, and they get the corresponding tile.
A player cannot refuse a visit from a noble.
Receiving a noble isn’t considered to be an action
@@MeepleOverboard exactly!
Nobles are seen as a stipulation not a purchase.
Otherwise I could understand receiving a noble counting as an action.
Take a nobel is automatically done when you earn it. But I don't understand how he got it. He didn't have 4 black cards to earn it.
