    May sound really stupid. My partner just died and left his gpz600r. What are the gears. I know there normally 1 down. That's all I know. Thanks

    I just put the airbox on the carbs before throwing it in.

      1985 model?

    • @jonnijames
      @jonnijames  3 года назад +1

      I tried doing that but theres a crossbar behind the battery box part joining the two sides of the frame together that seems to block any forwards and back movement, one of the most annoying things ive come across in a design of motorcycle,mind you every model has its own annoying perks when it comes to repair, but the gpz 600 was perfect on every aspect except for no room to place the airbox back in comfortably

      more so to the question what is the history of the bike my brother?, has it been lying around in someones shed for 4 years? whats the go, give me some details about your bike :)

      Im led to believe you have a blocked main jet from ethanol in the fuel causing some gum like deposits in the carby . this bike also had another problem with the petrol tank breather (the keyed filler cap) was blocked so after a minute running it would get fuel lock from the lack of air replacing spent fuel in the fuel tank because a breather valve in the filler cap was faulty Took me a few weeks to figure out why it was stalling after a few minutes and failing to restart. Un-do your petrol cap and see if you hear a sudden sucking sound like a human gasp of air. LOL

      @@jonnijames i picked the bik up a few months ago, it was stored for a long time, but still ran.
      The bike only ran on 3 cilinders though. cilinder 2 carb had an open vacuum hose. the others where all capped off. it would idle and rev a little, but cinilinder 2 just didnt get any gas. when I capped that carb too it ran on all 4 cilinders. Idled perfectly, but dies as soon as i gave it some gas
      I have a european variant. I'm not able to find the diagram of the carbuerator vacuum lines anywhere.

      @@jonnijames I have already checked and cleaned all the carb jets, mixing tubes and onther small bits. the weird thing is just that it runs on 3 cilinders with the vacuum line opened and on 4 with the vacuum line closed...

      @@developpementpersonnelsene731 ah yes the internal component of starter motor, your best option is to know which model GPZ 600 (A[1985] , B , C etc) you have and purchase a 2nd hand starter motor from ebay , good luck my friend
