They’re just so small that they easily block up, usually when the bike has been laid up for a while, especially with the ethanol content of modern fuel
According to the manual, when balancing the carbs you start by equalising cylinders 1 and 2 by turning the screw in between the two carbs, then do the same with cylinders 3 and 4 turning the screw between those two carbs and then finally equalise cylinders 1+2 with 3+4 by turning the central screw between carbs 2 and 3.
Cheers mate and yea, older stuff like this are technically more simple but can be harder to make them run right. Newer stuff generally has stupid electrical faults, but usually either work or don’t. Stuff like this will usually work but not work well when there’s an issue 😂

@@theprogrammerrolandmc3039 haha yes carbs can be a pain in the arse and are a lot easier to get wrong than they are to get right! This is a prime example of that cos someone had done the carbs before and got the float heights way out. I had another this week with the same issue, a 5eb R6 where the floats were hitting the top of the carb body before sealing, it filled the crank case with petrol.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos it's amazing people don't use simple logic when measuring the bowl hight and measure them in the position they sit in the bike. That's a easy fuck up. Probably the reason people try and do carbs fuck up and sell the bike cheap I was looking at a zzr 600 for £650 was running idle at 3000rpm after having to use choke. if only the seller took his time and used some logic he wouldn't be selling it. I really can't be arsed at that price lol
@ the 5eb R6 is fuel level rather than float height which is much more time consuming and a bit of a pain in the dick to be honest. The job was a quick strip clean and setup though so I just set them as best I could by eye to keep the price as low as possible for the customer as this is what they asked for. It worked out well in the end though. Bike was running sweet after doing the job. When it came in it was running awful. Wouldn’t pick up, misfiring and throwing unburnt fuel out the exhaust etc.
