Vikings' wide receiver, John Gilliam, #42, gave the Redskins hell that day and Tarkenton was forced by Washington to do some of that scrambling he was known for. Bought time and found Gilliam for the touchdown. Great decision by Bud Grant to get a running QB like Tarkenton to finally replace Joe Kapp. Quarterbacks like Tark -Joe Montana, Elway, Randall Cunningham - open up more possibilities , IMHO, than one who is a strict pocket passer and an easier target for opponents with a strong pass rush. There were great ones like that, though - Kosar, Bartkowski, Jim Kelley... All a good QB had to do to get the ball to Drew Pearson was to just spot the somewhere he can go up and get it. That was a super TD reception he made down near the Rams end zone early in that game. Dolphins' guard, Bob Keuchenberg gave Vikes' Great, Alan Page, all kinds of trouble all day, and Csonka was a battering ram on the Vikings. Dolphins were a physical team that could do the offensive, "Beat-Down," on teams.
I met the Kooch at Joe Robbie stadium when it was called that. Shook his catchers mit hand and he went on his way. He was a tremendous player at his position 🤔
It had a larger attendance capacity than the Astrodome (and there were still owners who thought the Super Bowl HAD to be played outside) so...as you can see, day of the game (if not week of the game), they realized the error of their ways
The last SB with the goal post in the front of the endzone.
That´s right
The only time where the conference chanpionship games both had the same final score.
So strange, thank you so much

Rice Stadium. Seriously?
Thats right, a Super Bowl stadium
Bud Grant said it was the worst facilities since his players were in grade school
@@charleswoodhouse4754 definitively
@@charleswoodhouse4754 The most exciting games at Rice Stadium are high school playoffs.
