Affixes reroll when moving to the next tier and its possible for it to reroll lower than it was previously. Ive had a few pieces where the 5th upgrade showed the stats going down for some affixes. This obviously doesn't matter if your endgame with 725+ gear but if the piece is on the cusp of 725 make sure your checking the stats when upgrading and not blindly clicking uograde.
The best source of forgotten souls is Screaming Hell Veins, You get as many souls as mystery chests plus you can cheese it and pop it four time if you're in a part by having everyone else wait in town and then come through and open it.
Cooldown reduction is such an important stat that I trash the gear that doesn't have that affix. All helms, amulets, offhand (and shield) can roll for cooldown reduction so if you don't have cd reduction in those slots you aren't playing optimally and waiting longer between casts...I don't like that design because it makes all those slots of gear feel homogenous and upgrading gear is another issue, it's incremental very small upgrades, once you hit the 70's it boils down to looking for the same item with higher ilvl.
For the mystery chests. These are always in the same few spots, and if people don’t already know where they are you can find maps for these. They might not be in every spot every time, but you’ll know where to look. Also, you can find a bunch of them. I’ve found up to 4 mystery chests in one Helltide before
That's because the chests disappear and respawn in a new location in each zone on the hour. Helltides are always a minimum of 2 zones, sometimes three so the max mystery chests that can be opened is 6 in a 3 zone helltide and 4 in a 2 zone helltide. Credit to Raxx for his video explaining this.

If your item is below 725 item power but close to it, you should actually first upgrade it over the new threshold and only then enchant it. You dont want to spend resources fishing for "high roll" affix with enchanting only for it to randomly reroll when you upgrade.
Wrong. You can see the result before you upgrade (in the uograde window)And thats weird. It means it isnt random. It is always clear what the item will roll
@@Ambros1a84 He’s right, and it is random, within the new tier stat range at least. @@taplast2503 ok youre both right. It is random, but for me its weird you can see the future roll. And that there are breakpoints which reroll between the range. Very absurd and not explained anywhere. And to check every yellow item is really time consuming

Helltide chests reset on the hour, so depending on it's time it can be difficult to get 4 chests. Dunno why forgotten souls is the limiting factor, I've got like 300 forgotten souls and no gold XD Gold cost on rerolling is just ridiculous
How important is item power and attack power base stats . Are those the numbers that the let's say 25 % to vulnerable is that what the 25 percent is out of
Is there a pool of affixes that can be rerolled into other affixes or is it all just random? Example: Rerolling Vuln damage into crit chance but never being able to roll crit damage?
can you get just any modifier? or is it like d3, where only certain modifiers can reroll into other certain modifiers. example life on hit can't reroll into intelligence.
@lizardwizard4542 Idk what you mean, but there are multiple things that effect the price to reroll. Slot, rarity, item power and upgrade level as far as I know. Probably more.
1:32 the chest respawns every full over helltide is 1 hour and beginning again 1 hour 15 minutes after the last one ended most of the helltides have 2 chests (some has even 3) which means you can get 2 chests every helltide for 100% and up to 6 if you get all 3 then the reset at the full hour and you can still go and get the respawned 3 chests :) i often prefer to upgrade before enchanting if the item is breaking into another tier i dont want to put ressources in some good rolls then upgrade it and get bad rolls from it and just wasted the ressources to enchant it :D

So, if you've got 25 minutes until the hour lands you've got 25 minutes to hit 2 mystery chests. Then, you can hit the other 2 as well. Killing the boss that walks around also gives forgotten. It's not a hard grind, but it's an hour long event. If the hour hit at the start.. Get your 2 mystery boxes and go do other shit... Nightmare dungoens for best drops.
2:38 Why do you advise against rolling for the most wanted affix? Is it just because it can get really expensive to get a good roll? Ranges from enchanting are the same, aren't they?
So I did this yesterday in that order (before this video came up). Was really happy with my rare amu and then I learned that my aspect on my current amu is no longer transferrable because it was an imprint from another aspect rather than codex 🤣
What about enchant buckets? Can you always roll anything instead of an affix you dont want? For example: ring perfect stats are vulnerable, crit%, critD, life. If I get a ring with damage to frozen, can it ever change to max life? Or will it always give me only the option to swap to vulnerable, chilled, vulnerable...? I think there are some buckets. I had a helm with a lucky hit, rolled it like 30 times and never got an option of Total armor (helms can have total armor).
It should. I have one with both crit affixes, life n cost reduction and another exactly the same except mana instead of life. It just sucks how long it can take to get the right roll. I just look for atleast another back up ring with the same stats to see if I can roll it on that too
It can work to try and get the affix you wan't the most. I think you just need to set a "bricked" point for yourself as to how much gold you're willing to spend. I dropped some pants that were amazing but I really wanted + Corpse Explode so I was able to get +4 corpse explode in about 10M gold. It might also depend on the rarity of the affix. I was getting plenty of + CE pants so I figured it wasn't a super rare affix.
Rerolled a sword today and got to choose between 28.5% Overpower damage and 30% Overpower damage. Haven't seen same stat show up twice in my previous rerolls. Intended or bugged I wonder?
It's happening all the time, I enchanted a frozen orb + 2 level, they offered frozen orb +2 level or frozen orb for 2 level, for 1.5M + ressources. It's disgusting sometimes.
Yo' lamma. Can you call up blizzard and ask them to do us a favor. When we press shift and check to compare stats... I'd like to press L or another key to inspect our equipment to see WHICH ITEM has WHICH LEGENDARY power shared. Thanks :)
hey, i cant find this info anywhere, but say i want to get Dexterity (in this case to hit a paragon breakpoint) to roll, do i NEED to be on a certain character for it? im using my barb because it has less potential affixes, but i've gotten 4 str rolls in a row and no Dex.
also make sure that the item youre rolling can actually get the affix you want. not all affixes can be obtained on all items (and it also varies by class in some cases...)
Might mention that some affixes only roll for certain classes. Some make sense based on damage type, but I just recently found out about lucky hit chance while you have a barrier and it not rolling for necromancers.
The bottleneck is the gold, It's insane that the cost should jump 5x the FIRST time you enchant, during one helltide playing very optimal you can get 30+ souls. Good luck getting 30 rerolls worth of gold in 1 hour, It's insane.
Which class you roll the item with will change the class-specific mods that can roll on it. For example, if you're playing a barb, and you drop a nice 1H sword with decent affixes, and you want to use it with your Rogue, if you want to roll Crit Dmg with Imbued Skills, you have to roll the item at the Occultist with your Rogue because you'll never roll that mod with your Barb as it's a class specific affix.
LOL my dumbass found out about the enchanting about level 25, but didn't find out about upgrading jewelry till like level 45. Then finally found out about upgrading weapons and armor at around level 48 -- oh well. Then again, inspect people in town. There are a lot of people out there who are just as high who have missed a lot of different things they could do, with the exception of throwing gems into slots.
If i remember the first maps, only few objects, various textures inexistent only random monsters appear... and NOW... Like to see watching a child grow up... now that I see and feel it as it was meant to be... crazy. I imagine a puzzle... that piece by piece has been put together to create a game that I, personally, find fantastic. I really have to say that Blizzard has done and as it has always done and continues to do, listening users adding, modifying... nice work guys.
You can find 4+ mystery chest in Helltides.... 2 on each side for sure. P.s. saved gold for 2 days and found ring with 3 perfect mods. Rolled item till I was broke. Enchanting is STILL x10 times too expensive. Imo
LLama .. best way to get souls is Mystery chests + the Screaming Hell veins done like this- open hell vein, invite someone they open it, invite another person they open it invite another person they open it.. x4 loot
I think the rares costing more to reroll when imprinted changed. Made some mistakes in order and saw no difference. Can someone confirm either way, because I think this is a misconception from Beta.
I do have one question lol.. How are you at almost 10k attack power on sorceress? I'm just curious, since the methods of increasing that stat are vague to me (and also irrelevant, as of now, since it's an arbitrary number, but it's odd since I'm 92 with 5,700 and in a previous video of yours I noticed you were also around 5,500)
Attack power is not very relevant, for example my Rogue at lvl 74 is already at 9300 attack power. Basically if you have high stats like dexterity will boost your attack power by a lot but more important stats like crit chance do not boost it by much.
@@xsasuke44x I'm aware, hence why I stated it was arbitrary and irrelevant. Rogue has an extra weapon providing attack power, and I have more intelligence than Llama, with decent weapons, hence my curiosity. That's all just curious
In every helltide, there is a total of 4 mystery boxes. A helltide is 2 zones, in every zone one myst chest spawns. At the 30min mark they shift. So if you kill enough stuff, you can farm 4 of those chests 👌🏻
Well it varies by 15 minute intervals. from 0 minutes to 45 minutes for the chest reset. That means sometimes you can only get 2 chests since it won't reset at all or you have to farm a lot to open the first two chests in 15 minutes which is rough. Thankfully there are maps out there that show you the reset time for each event throughout the day.
@@RogueAero Well yes, but also that means I am not wrong since helltides spawn in 15 minute intervals, you just made it more concise lol. So the actual answer is chests reset hourly but helltides spawn in every 75 minutes which creates a 15 minute deviation, so the amount of time you have before a reset varies depending on when it started.
I have like 800 forgotten souls, no veiled crystals and about 8.5 million gold. I constantly bounce back and forth between not enough crystals or not enough gold. Forgotten souls are not my issue.
Regarding the ring you enchanted, when comparing it to the one you had equipped. Why is it a hard choice? To me, it seems exceedingly clear that the one you had equipped is better than the enchanted one. 2x the vulnerable damage, .8% more crit damage, 1.5% more crit chance. And the only debatable thing is the 15% damage to frozen enemies (15%) which you would replace with the 16.5% damage to crowd on the enchanted. But that seems like a really bad call considering how much better the other rolls on the equipped ring are. Am I missing something? Why would you consider replacing your ring with the enchanted one given that the enchanted one is worse in almost all respects?
You might want to re-compare them. The new ring is actually the higher crit chance and crit dmg. The new ring is also only 7.2% less vulnerable damage and that can be rolled higher. The dmg to crowd control makes it better because it's easier to cc and enemy than to freeze it. If the vulnerable damage was rolled higher it would without a doubt be the better ring.
You don't explain item level.. Which does matter when upgrading... There are numeric intervals that make a huge difference. It's also the reason your ring went from 600k to 1mil to upgrade.
Sorcerer is just strong if built right. I don't know which way your underwhelming is going, whether things are too hard or too easy. But myself, as a level 60 sorcerer doing an ice build all by myself.... ...I have found its all pretty trivial/easy for now as long as I have mana. If I run into mana issues it becomes a slog. Haven't finished my setup yet, but I can complete any content I find solo with minimal deaths, even with mana issues. I think all classes are easy with a build that is done semi correctly.
I'm level 95, and it's still a blast in nightmare 50 like very easy. But I fear it's almost at the peak and then soon it's going to drop big time, before level 85 it's a cake you can almost do whatever you want and still success.
So has anyone found out why on certain weapons there is always an intellect roll for example? It really pisses me off that I have to waist over a hundred million gold just because the occultist is broken
I have to say I am enjoying the game so far quite a bit. I think it is a really good game. I saw the videos with the suggestions for improvements that you made and I agree with a lot of them but this doesn't mean it is bad. You can take every game under the sun and find faults. On the contrary, I think Blizzard did not mess this up. Yeah some people, especially hardcore D2 players hate it but I do not agree with this point of view. And I think the 6/10 that you gave it is a bit strict. I am pretty sure there will be a lot of changes and content coming and this game has a long future ahead. Remember that when D2 came out it was just 3 and a half acts and that's it. It was vastly different to what exists today, it didn't even have synergies which are crucial for example. All the other stuff was added later. I played D2 to death and I still think the game is absolutely fantastic and worth playing if you have never played it before, one of the top games of all time for sure but let's face it. I will be the one to tell it, D4 has a future, D2 does not. There is only so much content you can add to a game released 20+ years ago.
I have plenty of forgotten souls right now, more than the other shards. Still not sure about killing boss cause it takes 10mins for 2 souls and cinders
Im still confused why CC's always say that the soul is a bottleneck. I have over 400+ of them and I am constantly out of gold! I hate it that rerolling is only a 2 stat selection, the cost is astronomical and the number of choices also goes up say for example you are at 8M there should be now 6-7 selectable stats.
I thought the devs said that there was going to be a reason to keep white/blue items? So far, I only keep them for crafting mats haha. Same as rares with only 3 affixes. Instant garbage. I'm a little disappointed with the itemization, I thought there was going to be.....more. Not just more rng to get the 4 affixes you want.
@@MrLlamaSC yikes. Why didn't they hire the Llama to help them out? I feel like they need an "ideas" guy around there. Seems we are lacking.....vision.
Currently listening while I'm hunting Lilith statues. Thanks for your guides!
I want to add that Forgotten souls very quick will become common as you play and gold will be your only main thing to farm and to watch on when you perfect your gear.
For me he veiled things (the yellow item) is the bottleneck, and than gold yeh. Probably cause I don't go clean my inventory when its full in helltides.
@@timm8998once you reach around 80 you’ll have leveled enough and have a ton of these. They drop a TON from dungeon mobs
@@Ieonblack I am 73 now and i have 200+ forgotten souls. So gonna take a lot of em to lose my 200+ souls.
@@timm8998 Yea souls are pretty endless once youve farmed 200+. I thought you meant the veiled crystals from dismantling. Those are what I meant become super common in the mid-late game.
@@Ieonblack Yes I meant those. I have 280 forgotten souls and 60 veiled crystals. I am lacking veiled crystals. I need like 10000 now to deplete my forgotten souls. Even if they are so common, I am just lacking them a lot :D
Wow, i’m lvl 70 and i just realised you could upgrade jewlery 😅 thanks for the video!
One mystery chest per zone. Always move at top of hour so depending on time you can get 4 175 boxes depending on start Time. Sometimes you can find 3 I have gotten 6 175s with a good timing start
i think you forgot the main source of forgotten souls which is the Screaming ore Veins that spawns in helltides. love your videos man, thanks a bunch
Thanks man i didnt think about enchanting before putting on an aspect 😭
I’ve never felt so much like I was trying to enjoy a game vs just enjoying the game. In D3 and D2 I just enjoyed it. D4 seems to be intent on making me retrace the same steps over and over without the cool OP loot aspect D3 had.
its just not a good design. Days into the game we see 100 youtube videos attempting to explain gear and items. what the fuck, its 2023 we shouldnt NEED 20 minute videos from 20 producers to explain faily simple mechanics, often needed to just play the game. I am so sad millions of people cant vote with their wallets. We are doomed to TRASH games in the future now the devs have learned that the pushback on microtransactions and p2w is over. I love video games but fuck.. we cant have good games anymore too many morons throw money at pixels.
It's not that complicated man
@@SakuragiLastname9 I agree it's not that complicated. I'm saying it's just not as fun as the other 2 games so far and it feels a little like an obligation or a chore.
Thank you for this. I was hoping you'd start doing D4 info things.
The game is kind enough to show you what the next tier upgrade will be, it rolls it and then shows you what it has rolled and allows you to decide if you wish to go to it or stay where you are, but it’s still random, it always will roll one upgrade in advance and show you.
@@taplast2503 ok youre both right. It is random, but for me its weird you can see the future roll. And that there are breakpoints which reroll between the range. Very absurd and not explained anywhere.
And to check every yellow item is really time consuming
If the item level is above 700 you only need to upgrade at most 4 times to see / preview what the rerolled values will be. So if the reroll turns out to be bad, you don’t need to waste a forgotten soul on the 5th upgrade
Wait are you saying upgrading at the blacksmith randomly reroll wtf really I never noticed that wtf I'm perturbed
Are those the numbers that the let's say 25 % to vulnerable is that what the 25 percent is out of
It never ceases to amaze me how out of control the numbers are in this game
You can get 4-6 mystery chests depending on the map. There are two hidden and a reset at the half way mark. Sometime 3 and a reset
Always enchant first before upgrading or adding an aspect, especially if it’s rare.
screaming ore vein also drops Forgotten souls and the Hellbringer elite mobs can drop them.
Is there a pool of affixes that can be rerolled into other affixes or is it all just random?
Example: Rerolling Vuln damage into crit chance but never being able to roll crit damage?
Is the increase in the enchant/roll cost for legendary items AFTER every enchant more compared to rares?
can you get just any modifier? or is it like d3, where only certain modifiers can reroll into other certain modifiers. example life on hit can't reroll into intelligence.
I'm pretty sure enchant cost is just tied to sell value. That's why the weapon was way more expensive and the cost goes up a bit after imprinting.
Yea 2 handlers are more expensive for upgrading, but the rare vs legendary does also increase the price
@lizardwizard4542 Idk what you mean, but there are multiple things that effect the price to reroll. Slot, rarity, item power and upgrade level as far as I know. Probably more.
Does it work like d3 where each row has its own list of possible affixes? Or every row can roll any compatible affix?
1:32 the chest respawns every full over helltide is 1 hour and beginning again 1 hour 15 minutes after the last one ended most of the helltides have 2 chests (some has even 3) which means you can get 2 chests every helltide for 100% and up to 6 if you get all 3 then the reset at the full hour and you can still go and get the respawned 3 chests :)
i often prefer to upgrade before enchanting if the item is breaking into another tier i dont want to put ressources in some good rolls then upgrade it and get bad rolls from it and just wasted the ressources to enchant it :D

How did you get 70 mil? How do you decided when to salvage and when to sell items?
I'm sitn on 700 forgotten souls at lv80. Just show up for the hellTides when you can... The mystery chests move ON THE HOUR.
Llama enchant your legendary aspect to max before ripping the aspect off the item. It will be a better aspect after max upgrade
2:38 Why do you advise against rolling for the most wanted affix? Is it just because it can get really expensive to get a good roll? Ranges from enchanting are the same, aren't they?
So I did this yesterday in that order (before this video came up). Was really happy with my rare amu and then I learned that my aspect on my current amu is no longer transferrable because it was an imprint from another aspect rather than codex 🤣
thats howwwwww. thanks you dude. this has been peeing me off since the game came out
What about enchant buckets?
Forgotten Souls Drop from the bluish iron ore deposits. I literally get 50-100 every run from that
It's literally the exact same feature in D3. While it's not a direct copy of D3 so many assets/ reskinned monsters and mechanics are from D3.
Turn ON advanced Tooltip Bro Compare/Information... You gotta love those red and green indicators
i dont like it its to much on screen i prefer to compare myself
also make sure that the item youre rolling can actually get the affix you want.
not all affixes can be obtained on all items (and it also varies by class in some cases...)
But! can you get higher rolls (or bigger chance of higher roll) if you upgrade or make it legendary first?
why dont you have advanced tool tips on? I know you can read gear but no reason to not have it on to compare easily.
Pretty good info.
Hey Mr llama can u share your build with us?
Some items have prices upwards of 3.6m gold for one enchant...which is insane.
Might mention that some affixes only roll for certain classes. Some make sense based on damage type, but I just recently found out about lucky hit chance while you have a barrier and it not rolling for necromancers.
Yeah you gotta roll that as a sorceress for your necro and then give the item back. Which kinda sucks
why rares have 3 different stats but legandaries have 4 on mine? is it about level?
The bottleneck is the gold, It's insane that the cost should jump 5x the FIRST time you enchant, during one helltide playing very optimal you can get 30+ souls. Good luck getting 30 rerolls worth of gold in 1 hour, It's insane.
its their way to keep people playing the game, because its fucking trash and has nothing of substance. Enjoy the battlepass sucker.
I understand that each different item type has a set affix that can roll. Are there any more restrictions beyond that?
Which class you roll the item with will change the class-specific mods that can roll on it.
For example, if you're playing a barb, and you drop a nice 1H sword with decent affixes, and you want to use it with your Rogue, if you want to roll Crit Dmg with Imbued Skills, you have to roll the item at the Occultist with your Rogue because you'll never roll that mod with your Barb as it's a class specific affix.
@@FangzTV so + Life and + Max resource can roll on the same helm?

LOL my dumbass found out about the enchanting about level 25, but didn't find out about upgrading jewelry till like level 45. Then finally found out about upgrading weapons and armor at around level 48 -- oh well. Then again, inspect people in town. There are a lot of people out there who are just as high who have missed a lot of different things they could do, with the exception of throwing gems into slots.

holy shit, i didnt know rings & amulets were upgradeable xD
You should turn on advanced tooltip compare.
Imo
Screaming helltide veins drop forgotten souls in helltides too
you should do how to starcraft remastered
LLama .. best way to get souls is Mystery chests + the Screaming Hell veins done like this- open hell vein, invite someone they open it, invite another person they open it invite another person they open it.. x4 loot
Mystery chest respawn at the top of the hour!
Probably from all of my Paragon board and glyphs. I run 7 glyphs
Some classes do billions of dps, then there is druid etc. Good game.
You're both wrong lol. The chests reset at the top of the hour. 1:00 2:00 etc.
Forgotten souls are not my issue.
good video!
@@RogueAero Ah, never mind. I didn't see the ring when he upgraded it but only after he enchanted it and briefly compared the two. Dumb, lol.
Thanks for the explanation bro. Kisses to you too.
Smile always bring me up, thanks already! :)
You don't explain item level.. Which does matter when upgrading... There are numeric intervals that make a huge difference. It's also the reason your ring went from 600k to 1mil to upgrade.
Nice video. You do have a lot of your own questions though ;-)
Hey Lama, can you share your thoughts on sorc's endgame scaling? I found it quite underwhelming to be honest.
Yeah once I got into the 90s she fell off. I was able to make her alright after some tweaks but still can't do much in higher NM dungeons
Somehow you kinda sound like John Mulaney in this video, and I just keep waiting for the punchline. "If you go to the Occultist ..."
from sitting on billions in d3 to begging for scraps in town in d4...outstanding!!!!
More D2 content please :*(
Btw your helmet is not close to perfect, you want 30% as it is an increase to cooldown
If you enchant an item BEFORE upgrading it 5/5 your possible maxroll is lower than with 5/5 upgrade maxroll
Can you elaborate, please? I've enchanted items before upgrading and achieved the same max roll, so I don't understand what it is you're trying to say
So if you Inprint a legendary aspect on a rare- does it become Legendary?
Botteneck is definitely the gold lol
Whoah 74mil gold…. I feel like I never have enough.
It’s amazing how this dude just winged this review. Lol

Gold is the bottleneck. Not the forgotten souls.
True just depends how far you want to roll it. I've run out of souls more often lol
Sounds like you farm helltides pretty often, then. That's likely why.
I thought the devs said that there was going to be a reason to keep white/blue items? So far, I only keep them for crafting mats haha. Same as rares with only 3 affixes. Instant garbage.
