Anyone else watching the ticker on the battle net app?
Thank god work starts next week for me.
thank you! I was looking for glyph tips, this very helpful
Can't stop watching your vids :P SO HYPED! gl on the race!
I really hope they change the Exploit glyph so it applies Vuln to all classes. This would open up so many more Build options/playstyles for Sorc. - You are pretty much Forced into picking Frost nova no matter the build, that is really restrictive to creative designs.
Or just remove the vulnerable status so you are not forced to take it 😂
That's because people are assuming every build needs and is able to get crazy amounts of vulnerable damage and vulnerable uptime. This whole damage bucket thing has been a thing for ages, critical damage is always a separate multiplier in RPG games and yet crit builds aren't the only viable option most of the time. Everyone is acting like they never seen a damage multiplier before and that you need to stack every one of them that exist to play the game
@@venenifer3569they're not "assuming" multiple well known and very good track record theory crafters have came to this conclusion as well. And not out of thin air either.... No 9 days with the game most of them reaching near lvl 90.
The only one making assumptions on the topic not having tested what they're talking about is you.
That would honestly make the rogue a pointless class, their ability to apply so much vulnerability is their only utility in group play
One the way vuln works atm, every class must use it if they want like 20-30% more damage.
I dont think exploit glyph works the way they are saying it does.
The board Fridgid Fate has nodes that read "vuln damage" This should increase the 20% more damage taken from vuln.
Exploit says increased damage vs vuln targets. That should be no different than any other "Additive" (increased) mod ie increased damage vs chilled enemies.
Almost guarantee, wudijo has this wrong. As there is vuln damage and increased damage vs vuln targets.
Best Diablo 4 Content Creator out rn. I wish you much success!
Thank you very much, this is what I was looking for my Rog.
Im running this same barrage build and this guide helps me understand some things thank you bro
Top tier content!! Awesome work Wudi! 😎
You're videos have been insanely useful! Thank you!
Very informative, thanks.
The one exception to buffing rare/magic nodes for damage is vulnerable damage ofc. I don't know if all classed have access to vulnerable damage nodes on the paragon board but rogue certainly does.
Necromancers don't have such rare or magic nodes
The only Defensive nodes to buff with a glyph are resistances, armor, golem armor and minion damage reduction.
I think the paragon boards are extremely unbalanced.
@@lughor82 yeah i just looked at the nectro paragons, not many good options. prob just get armor up as much as you can (since you have quite decent all res as an int character)
sorcs have them. can only touch one witha glyph tho.
Good info ty
I love this paraboard and glyph builds lol. Huge learning curv. Current lvl 78 on ice shard/blizzard build pushing nm 97 solo. My friends have similar builds that have trouble at +5 and their dmg number barely break 20000. Mine is aver 65000 to max crit of 1.1mil. I found that the enchant glyph is one of a kind for sorc! Scales you non phys dmg ie cold into the clouds and since this is what your cries are basing off, is most important. So sorc starter board enchant glyph grab all rare and magic nodes and enjoy! My current cold dmg is 246% is over 198 more than my friends builds lol! Enchant glyph does sooooo much!!!!!
damn, this shouldn't be too great with my fire build. crit damage doesn't matter since fire wall doesn't crit
the most important content so far pre-launch
Regarding the combat glyph: Be aware that if you are using passives or aspects that are multipliers to critical strike damage, they only scale with your "normal/base" critical strike damage, not the conditional critical strike damage like the one from this glyph (.. with core skills). Source: ruclips.net/video/DvyU_b-Mrog/видео.html
Hey Wudi, thanks for the tips. Does the Exploit glyph apply Vulnerable with my first hit for the second, or do I get Vulnerable for the first hit?
The additional effect of Exploit on a sorc says additional damage 1%[x] which would indicate multiplicative rather than additive. Is that not the case? Also the Destruction glyph additional bonus is 2%[x] damage for every critical hit for 6 seconds. So a max of 12%[x] on level 1 glyph.
It's weird how Necro (and Sorc) doesn't have the Exploit auto Vuln Effect, has it's conditional Damage reduction node not next to any Glyph, so it can't be boosted, etc. - there are so many little design disadvantages (besides the major obvious ones, like zero mobility) that they for some reason packed into this class (which wouldn't be there if they even just copy and pasted, like they took active steps to make those classes perform worse, it's strange).
I think it’s because they have it in their skill tree or gear. My necro buddy applies vul on every cast of bone spear so he doesn’t need exploit. Same with rogue. Can’t speak to the other two but I can confirm these classes don’t need it to apply vul on hit
@@kylekilgore291 Not every single build wants to run Bone Spear or Frost Nova just for Vulnerability though.
It's a pretty huge disadvantage for clear speed on those other builds especially.
@@asum7786 I understand not everyone wants to run vul dmg but if you want to have a viable endgame build and kill Uber Lilith you don’t rlly have much of a choice imo
@@kylekilgore291 exactly the point, so it seems weird that they made the conscious choice to gatekeep it this much for Necro and Sorc.
@@kylekilgore291 So do all of the other classes. Every class has a skill that applies it, theres no excuse for just changing the glyph on sorc and necro.
The control glyph has 20%[x] increased damage to Stunned or Frozen enemies as the additional bonus. Doesn't the [x] before the percentage imply that this is in fact a multiplier on its own compared to its main effect that states +14.4% inc damage to cced enemies which is additive just like all the gear affixes. The %[x] is used on all the nodes on the skill tree and on the aspects that everyone is running and assuming are their own multipliers. Why should the 20%[x] increased damage to Stunned or Frozen on Control be additive? It has the multiplier wording as well and provides twice the bonus on both its additive and multiplicative buffs compared to Flamefeeder for an Ice Shard sorc but everyone keeps recommending Flamefeeder. What am I missing?
yes [x] means multi and control glyph is generally quite powerful but I like the consistent damage output of other glyphs more most of the time
The biggest argument I can see for Flamefeeder being ahead is it has 100% uptime against everything, including bosses. But you honestly shouldn't need to choose between them, except maybe early on when you have very limited glyph nodes open. Both are good and you're going to eventually want both.
Yup, control glyph on sorc is extremely strong
😊😅😮
The goat strikes again
is it better to run 4 glyphs with more rare nodes or 5 glyphs with less points for rare nodes?
Do you know whether Exploit applies Vulnerable before the damage of the first hit?
Can anyone explain how damage bonuses from Legendary nodes are calculated? For instance Exploit Weakness and Trick Shot legendaries. Are these damage bonuses in the collective additive bucket, or are these nodes multiplicative? Thank you!
If it has an X it is multiplicative. (exploit weakness does). If you do not see an X you need to activate advance tooltips on the game options.
"cannot happen more than once every 20s" does the cooldown only apply to the glyph itself or it apply globally to other sources like rogue skills? i.e. can other rogue skills that cause vulnerability proc within the glyph 20s cooldown?
Man, do you have thoughts about storm druid?
if you use the buffing glyphs on the exploit board you pretty much get a second exploit glyph with all the additional vuln dmg
When can you start leveling up the glyphs ?
Question: when using puncture skill does ranger glyph work for the damage reduction? Cause we are not using ranged weapon.
No, even though Puncture is a Marksman skill, it's still requires melee to use, so no..
Druid don't have great rare nodes do I just go magic or skip?
Question for experienced players and min-maxers. Is it generally better to go from paragon board to paragon board and socket the glyphs or is it better to branch out and grab the legendary nodes and rare nodes you want on each board before heading to the next board?
If it matters I'm building a Thorns Whirlwind Barb and a bone spear necro but really my question is more to generalize what is a complex state bomb filled topic
L bone spear necro
Bro I thought I fucked up by grabbing certain rare nodes and the nodes around it, but I feel like I'm more powerful now rather than just speed running thru each board to get to the next one. Lvl 85 barb rn and my stats are thru the roof bruv. Definitely requires you to see what works with you and what doesn't. Also, glyphs getting leveled is what it's ALLLLLL about bro
I’m no expert but I definitely value the rare nodes a lot. It’s the legendary nodes that are mostly unremarkable.
Was the crit damage glyph changed? Mine only goes to like 9.9% or something at max level
At 2:45 you talk about how most other additional bonusses are rather minor, mentioning "A 10% damage bonus here... A 10% damage reduction there". Isn't a 10% damage reduction HUGE compared to a 10% (additive) damage bonus, since damage reduction is so much harder to come by? Thanks for yet another great video :)
Not clear from the video but I believe the actual reason these reductions aren't that valuable is that there are diminishing returns
@@tealwombat Yeah, from what I understand too, then damage reduction does have diminishing returns, but it was still my impression that +10% damage reduction was WASTLY BETTER than +10% damage. But seeing as @wudijo threw them into the same "minor bonusses" category I'm now in doubt, seeing as I'm pretty sure he knows this stuff better than me :)
I think its because its a flat 10%.
the other ones he juices become a combined 28% and thats from a single rare node. he also couldve just misspoke because as you said 10% dr is massive
@@tealwombat All bonuses have diminishing returns though. If you're at 80% vulnerable damage and add another 10% to make it a 90% multiplier, your damage only sees a 5.5% increase.
What about glyph that increase radius of poison Trap, not good?
How can you tell if the elementalist glyph is working? I don’t see any status icon
I am trying to get the closer glyph to work but having difficulty to find the board with a glyph socket with 8 sockets of dexterity at range
It's the first board
thx dude
How much exp is required for glyph 15-21? Any one know
Are glyphs acct-wide?
I don't understand why the exploit glyph doesn't proc vulnerable for Necro and Sorc.
It's one of the main reason why they're stuck using Corpse Tendril / Bone Spear and Frost nova respectively.
although I don't mind using corpse tendrils I just wish they was a way to make it trigger faster cause it's so clunky.
is this still all viable? for example max exploit is only 3.85, and max buffing glyphs only go 125% as opposed to 240%. Blizzard nerfed the boards hard...
how does diminish glyph work?
Vulnerable seems a bit too strong and mandatory. They should probably either make it additive (while keeping the base x20% multiplier of the vulnerable statut as it is) or maybe transform the "deal increased damage to vulnerable" stat to "increased effect of vulnerable".
It almost feels like the multiplicative nature of the vulnerable damage is unintended. The rolls on gears and the bonus from parangons are in the same ranges as other sources of damage increase, the wording hints at an additive multiplier like any other stats... I would not be surprised if they just changed how vulnerable works in the future. I hope they don't balance the rest of the game around vulnerable damage, like nerfing the classes that use vulnerable, and then realise they need to change vulnerable to its core.
Thats because Exploit doesn't increase vuln damage. Read the node. It is regular additive damage vs vuln targets. Now nodes thats say "x% vuln damage" increase the 20% mod of vuln. So 10% vuln damage makes vuln do 22% (or 30% , some people say) more damage.
vulnerable also affects players, so it can become a double edged sword
Maybe I missed it… but how to you rank up/level up glyphs?
by doing nightmare dungeons u get a resource to upgrade it atleast thats what i think
Also, how do you acquire them?
@@BrentNeal1979 You have some to start with, and drop the rest in nightmare dungeons
@@BrentNeal1979 you get them from NM dungeon and whisper tree
If i die in hc are glyphs lost also?
I think if you play Freeze Sorc then Control is better than Exploit imho, both use dex for damage boost but one is better than the other
Chill/Freeze is either as easy if not easier to apply than Vulnerable, it gives the same bonus damage from the basic passive but the bonus is actually better cause you always have 10% more damage without the need to get the stacks AND you actually deal 20% instead of 10% to frozen enemies.
Thoughts on Destruction over Control? Destruction 1.9% crit dmg every dex node, 2% all dmg up to 12% for every crit!
@@johnthemann6483 I use both! I have two boards that have the same amount of dex near two glyphs
Mehr mehr mehr ❤
Are we sure that closer isn't as valuable because it's additive even though it's boosting the number that all multiplicative stats are multiplying?? Closer sounds very important to me?
Correct me if i'm wrong ofc
Ok, so what is the follow-up for this after nerfs to glyphs? And when can we expect a proper advanced paragon and glyph guide on Maxroll?
It's 3rd week, and so far, articlles a very begginer friendlly with no usefull info for min/maxers.
@wudijo, just a bit of feedback. I hope you dont mind, i appricieate all the work and great content.
did these glyphs get nerfed looking on a build plannner they only go up to 125 not the 250 shown in this video 😢
Ty
Still waiting for your stealth trapper build
Does this advice hold up even after patch 1.1.0?
i dont know when, but the vulnerable damage got changed:
"The 20% is a separate multiplier, the rest of "Vulnerable Damage" bonuses are additive damage that only becomes active against Vulnerable targets, similar to how "Damage vs Burning Enemies" only works when enemies are on fire."
2 questions for you..
Did you play the review session on hardcore?
Can you resurrect teammates in nightmare dungeons hardcore?
I dont think you can ever res a hardcore teammate, but i could be wrong.
just watch wudijo video about group play
Hardcore characters mean 1 life and you're done. If you died, then got revived then it would be softcore, not HC.
The fact that nightmare dungeons are only a small subsection of the total dungeons and are the only way to get glyph xp is a bit too grindy for sure..
Did they nerf the exploit glyph? It only shows a bonus of 4% per node at lvl 21 of glyph...
Yes they did. First set of nerfs sadly
Are leveld up glyphs account wide or just for that character
For one character each
is there going to be a guide on getting through the campaign or has that not really been tested yet? like a leveling guide, how to get level 50, what to do in the campaign what to skip?
Do all the story because you can't open up the capstone dungeon unless you do all of it. Do your class specific quests. Do the quests that unlock your mount and the various facilities like blacksmith and alchemist.
Grab sidequests, lilith atatues, etc as you come across them because you'll eventually want all of it unlocked. Do dungeons that contain codex aspects for your class or build.
You're probably looking for a more specific "go here, then go here" type of guide, but this is very general.
@@thevoxdeus that’s still very useful, thank you.
is there any benefit in leveling glyps to 16 17 18 19 20 ? and whats that benefit ?
They get better damage
Yep, they keep getting much stronger.
Im on my 6th board is this nornal
Does vulnerable stack? If I have multiple sources that makes enemies vulnerlable?
It doesn't become double vulnerable if you apply it twice if that's what you're asking.
@@Urrarg but does the effect of vulnerable gets stronger? More damage or not if I apply it twice?
@@sattelwolf No, the enemy is either vulnerable or not vulnerable. It only looks to see if that status exists on the enemy before applying your bonus damage. It doesn't care how many times you applied it.
Otherwise every raid boss would be over in less than 2 seconds as 15 people all apply it 1-3 times each at the same time.
I can't find rare version of exploit glyph ( and some other). Why doesn't the game give them to me after reaching lvl 65?
run nightmare dungeons
6:02, injured are 80%, and million dollar question, what are "Not Healthy"? Between 35-80%?
Below 80 %.
D4 HYYYYYPEEEE
The Crit glyph's bonuses are clearly balanced around the idea that you can't get more than about 33ish critical strike chance, hence it needs to provide double to triple the effect of other glyphs. Except that no-one seems to have told the legendary aspect people about this, and also the developers don't understand their own damage buckets. So we've ended up launching with a couple of glyphs that provide double to triple *burst* damage EACH, for a fairly limited number of specs, and the dungeons team have dutifully balanced their endgame stuff around providing a significant challenge for the guys that just delete everything on the screen instantly.
I don't think that's gonna go very well. =/
33ish? My sorc has 37 crit chance without really trying. Probably because most of Sorc's good glyphs require...Dex...:/
@@miketrice533 33ish?
@@Kanner111 You stated you can't get more than 33ish crit chance. Gear can easily give 15% crit chance. Add in Dex bonuses, skills, and aspects, and many builds get 50-100% crit chance.
@@miketrice533 'clearly balanced around the idea that you can't get more than about 33ish critical strike chance'
A little less ARPGing and a little more reading comprehension might be in order, dude.
The crit glyph was giving more than double the value of other glyphs, in its own bucket, and I was theorising that the *reason* for that is because it has to provide more value on average because it triggers less often than other glyphs which provide a flat bonus all the time. Except that A) damage buckets happened, and B) legendary aspects happened, so crit/vuln got far more impact per point than other glyphs *and* crit values were indeed approaching 100%, instead of 33%.
Which is why they had to cut it by about TWO THIRDS.
To be honest I don't even play this game anymore, grinding dungeons full of CC mobs is very dull and there's no real point to it. No idea why you necro'd a month old comment just to try own me about literally the same point I was actually making, but heck if it doesn't make me miss this community even less. A boring game that you need to play in the more boring way possible to be 'good', in order to appeal to boring dweebs. =/
@@Kanner111 You mentioned the balance around the "33ish" crit, so the dude brought it up, then you tried pretty hard to look like you "owned" him. You must be fun at parties.
As far as I know there are 8 buckets and they are all multiplikative to each other? Or was there a change? So its not only Vulneribitlity and Crit Damage
The sheet got revised, there are a lot less now. There is another video about it on this channel
Is this already oudated? I'm looking at the glyphs and the effects are different than the video.
Yea it happened with the whirlwind nerf
Sorc has stronger Exploit glyph since the additional bonus for the sorc is "up to x10%" while for the Rogue, its only helps you to apply Vulnerable for 3s. Rogue never have to worry about applying it anyway while Sorc has issue applying it. Either Blizz fcked up and swapped the 2 bonus effects or Sorc gonna have an innate "x10%" multiplier in group where other classes will apply Vulnerable.
Sorc will be nutty with max cdr on frost nova. Ice shards can also be used to apply vulnerable. I think exploit glyph is very likely to be nerfed. Maybe not on Sorc, but the ones that give free vuln on everything is just dumb.
Again with the Core Skill Crit dmg Glyph. On Sorc, Druid and Necro the bonus effect is "something something more dmg" while Rogue is "some energy refund". Wth is this? Last I check, those 3 classes have issue with resource, especially the druid while the Rogue with Inner Sight and Momentum will never have resource issue. Again, Blizz fcked up.
Exploit doesn't work that way, This is a confusion of "increased damage delt vs targets that are vuln", a conditional additive mod, with "x% vuln damage" which increases vuln effect.
Exploit is no different from say frostbite.
Now the nodes that say increase vuln damage, those may (from testing do) increase vuln effect.
I wish they would allow you to pick any node on the board to make the glyph socket… for glyphs like the Rare Buff and Magic Buff, you should have more control over which Rare Node(s) you want buffed. Pretty lame choices for the most part.
Can you reset the paragon boards?
Yes. It has a gold cost, but it's doable :)
yes but it works one at a time and in reverse order
Danke
Arc lash Sorc :D
I don't understand leveling glyphs and Google is no help. Hoe exactly do you rank up a glyph?
At the end of nightmare dungeons a pedestal appears that lets you put xp into glyphs
@@padarousou aha. Thanks. I havnt done any yet.
how do i lvl them up???
nightmare dungeons at final boss a altar pops up for it
It’s pretty simple to see the best ones but thx for helping other ppl
Are we sleeping on Unleash? The base sounds useless, but it's effectively a x6.7% global damage multiplier and based on the board I slotted it would add +21.6% vulnerable damage.
Are you saying that if I have 100% vulnerable damage adding 20% more will not make it 120% but something entirely different and more powerful? Sorry, can't believe that because it makes no sense.
Is Exploit glyph still good post nerf???
too bad sorc has only 2-3 skills which make enemies vulnerable :(
Druid only one
The control glyph is really powerful because of the secondary effect multiplier. But I agree these three are the most powerful.
He's not a fan of conditional modifiers
@@clauslarsen8971 Vulnerability is also conditional unless you can get 100% uptime. There are sorc cold builds that will have this modifier up nearly 100% of the time. But yeah, this glyph is conditional on the build you're making. It's not great for other builds.
I think it's not great for bosses, but ice shards gets around that with the passive. and you get CDR for nova to have almsot 100% vuln up time.
@@andrewf7732 but control glyph is more conditional because bosses are immune to cc outside of stagger. the minor damage boost during cc isnt worth it.
@@clauslarsen8971 You're right except for Ice Shards that considers enemies frozen while barrier is up. I guess since that's the build I've been working on, it's a very strong glyph, but outside of that, it's pretty bad because it has no use on bosses outside of stagger.
@@andrewf7732 yeah its has great synergy with that.
Not sure if I am alone but I think it's boring that almost every end game build will use the same handful of glyphs.

Where do Glyphs drop?
nightmare dungeons
@@moosewild4239 actually they can drop always anywhere. most common is nightmare dungeons, you can also find them in helltides and other areas
With vulnerability being so strong, how am i expected to play an overpower blood surge build? I can only stack so much max hp and overpower, and without hitting blues you do very little, but if i built for more neutral game damage then id sacrifice all my tankyness which would make the whole point of the subclass go tits up lmao stuck
The core skill critical damage glyph makes you suffer if not dealing damage with a core skill. They should neither make it apply to everything or just nerf if.
if crit damage is so hard to get why do barbs have 500+% of it
Because they get a 1.15x multiplier to their total crit damage, 1.3x if you have the passive in amulet

Guess glyph max level is 20?
21
It sounds like they designed a few items to be powerful, and the rest much less powerful so that they could cap the top end power levels.
In future that gives them room to play with a glyph or two per season. Which will alter game play as players always gravitate to only the most powerful builds. An easy way to alter game play with minimal effort down the road once the main player base has passed through.
It will be interesting if they can maintain income with the new content they plan to provide.
So vulnerable occupies the same slot as the convention of elements or travellers set. A damage doubler. A blizzard staple.
Keep Blasting Wudi!
thanks and appreciate the support!
But yet you advocated to have vulnerable nerfed to the ground....
RUclipsr makes video about good stuff in game. Blizzard sees video. Blizzard nerfs good stuff.
Bad math.
Going from 0 to 100 in the “additive” category increases that coefficient from 1 to 2. 100% damage increase.
Going from 0 to 100 vuln damage increases the vuln coefficient from 1.2 to 1.4. 17% damage increase.
Also compare:
Going from 400% to 500% “additive” damage increases the coefficient from 5 to 6. 20% damage increase.
Going from 400% vuln to 500% vuln increases that coefficient from 2 to 2.2. 10% damage increase.
200% is actually 4x crit dmg. 100% increase would be 2x 😅
200% would be 3x, assuming it was an increase.

Yes, because most big youtubers are making 10 minute videos on 3 minute subjects to just make money, it's shameless, and you're defending them?
he was explaining 3 critical glyphs for max damage that should be used. Try some others for your build and paragon setup you can always swap them out. just make sure to watch the requirements
I don’t really watch your content and was kinda upset to see you break the game and use exploits during the race but I have to say that the glyph “exploit” is hands down the best in the game if your char doesn’t have a way to proc vul on every hit then exploit is your glyph to get. I switched from a level 15 bloodfedder to exploit and saw a MASSIVE increase in dmg. I was dying in tier 28 nm dungeons and now I’m pushing tier 40 solo (84 Barb main) so this video is good info. However I still don’t like you very much 😂 maybe that will change
