I'm thinking he was probably jetlagged or something and really did misspeak like he said on twitter but this has to be the funniest thing to me. Of all the fandoms and all the actors in he world who could have accidentally come out as bi
it really does break my heart that theres even POTENTIAL that he felt the need to recloset himself. we have to trust him though, if he says hes straight then hes straight, thats how we need to treat this. continuing to say "oh hes bi hes just not ready to say it" is rude. idk. we only do this to public figures? why cant we treat him like everybody else? if a person says they aren't trans after some degree of social or even MEDICAL transition, for any reason, we back off. if a person says they aren't the sexuality theyve been out as for a while says thats not true now, or gets nervous and redacts it, people back off. or at least we SHOULD in these cases. idk. the reaction is as bad as the interaction is weird. "incriminating" is a nasty word to use. idk what other one to use, but this isnt a situation where hes done something worth that word. it implies malicious intent which of all things im certain he doesnt have. the meme about cas and dean as well, thats creepy. misha ISNT cas. making cas into a proxy for a real person is weird af.
I'm late, but.... Exactly! Misha is a kind and empathetic individual and I think people took this way out of proportion. Whether he's bisexual or not, it doesn't matter. Not unless someone is planning on asking him out... Which I doubt a lot of the fans are in positions to do. We shouldn't speculate and flip out over real people's sexualities and shame them for not being what *we* want. Because THAT is JUST as homophobic and backwards, as condemning people for coming out as whatever they may be. He's constantly saying things in a dry way, and this could have been taken out of context. Maybe not? But after this type of reaction and condemnation, he probably never will come out as anything else. Whatever the case may be, he's not a bad guy, and honestly? It kind of smacks of a toxic fandom for me.
I think that when he said bisexual, he meant ambivert, which is an awful phrasing on his part, but it makes sense when you think about the fact that he doesn't discuss anything about sexuality, he just talks about introverts and extroverts. And I guess he was jokingly calling ambiverts bisexuals.
This does make more sense but it's still confusing that he would get those words mixed up (if it was accidental) or that he would expect anyone to take it as a joke and not just at face value (if it was an intentional joke that didn't land).
@@sammyauroraloves Exactly. At first I thought he meant ambivert too, but what he said afterwards about slipping that question in there on purpose made me think otherwise.
ok but if he meant ambivert why would he make the comment after about "peppering" that in to another question as if it's unrelated to the states of being an introvert or extrovert? he specifically drew attention to the disconnect
I’m a bit uncomfortable with the idea of “queer baiting” being applied to real people’s sexuality because I don’t agree with being invested in real people’s identities (including assuming people are cishet and making weird comments about that). Obviously if someone maliciously comes out as queer to make fun of it, that’s it’s own issue but I don’t believe for a moment that’s what happened here and idk it just feels icky to talk about someone’s real identity like it’s “representation”. Yeah, queer celebrities are great but they don’t exist to give us representation.
It’s such a strange story because there’s really no ambiguity. Until I saw the clip, I thought it was an awkward answer to a fan question, but… why would you bring up bisexuality out of nowhere and then explicitly say that it is one of the things you are? To me the most likely explanations are either: 1. He is bi and chose to come out and then went back into the closet for an unknown reason 2. He is bi, but never meant to come out and it slipped out. I know I’ve done that before, where I didn’t mean to come out at work or whatever, but I forgot myself for a moment and made a joke that outed me. That’s where I’m leaning personally. And if he is actually straight, then I guess I could see a situation where he brought up bisexuality to kinda pander to the fandom and then royally fucked it up. That’s not my personal interpretation, but I guess I can see it. And if he says he’s straight, then we should treat him as straight.
I’ll also say, even though I get why people could come away with that, I don’t think there was malice here. I see people talking about him queerbaiting, and doing this as a stunt, and I just can’t see it? I feel like if he wanted to do a very weird “what if I let people think I was bi but just for 24hrs?” stunt, it would have been more dramatic and more public. I also don’t see what the point would be in general. Queerbaiting means trying to get a queer audience without committing to queer content and uh… he doesn’t need to do that, he already has a queer audience. And if that was really the goal, he probably would have fed into it or just followed up the conference with something non-committal like “I’m actually just questioning” or w/e. At worst, he might have been trying to pander, and he may have made a kinda shitty joke. I’m not even a fan of his, so if I thought he was being homophobic or purposely fucking with queer ppl’s feelings, I would say so. I just personally don’t see it that in this situation.
I think he made the mistake of getting too comfortable around queer culture. He tried to make a bisexual meme joke (the one about bisexuals not being able to pick between two things). And he made a tongue in cheek joke about his sexuality. Then had to correct when he realized it backfired.
I don't speak for all bi people but this whole ordeal is THEE funniest thing to me I'm sorry 😭 of course it's a supernatural actor that comes out then immediately after uncomes out as straight, is this an SNL skit?
Part of me, a bisexual, worries that he had a bad interpersonal relationship backlash, and then just pulled back. But I could be projecting cause I also had a bad reaction when I came out, so its completely possible he just got use to the thrill of fandom and queer baiting and that's it.
I wouldn't be surprised if he just wasn't ready for the media coverage he got and how much the fandom would freak out or forgot he hadn't told someone in his life yet.
First of all, I wanna preface this by saying I don't care about Misha Collins, his sexuality has no impact on my life. But also... What would have been his intention? It's not like the word "bisexual" had more than one meaning. Was he trying to find a word for people who are both introverts and extroverts? Because I really can't figure out what he could have been trying to say. I don't want to sound like a fan who absolutely wants him to be bi, because I really don't care, but it sounds like he wasn't expecting this much response from fans and news outlets. I really hope he didn't do it as a stunt because like you said, the Supernatural fandom is very queer and it would be very shitty of him to do that. It really came out of nowhere and really didn't fit into his response, it wasn't mentioned by anyone, and he did look a little nervous before saying "I'm all three" quietly. So I don't know. I'm mostly laughing at the situation because it's so weird. Very Supernatural of him.
@@fancyorangemittens yeah but when you were on a show that queer baited everyone only send them to super hell you don’t get to make theses types of jokes
That is such a bizarre progression. I don't even particularly care if he's straight or bi. I just wanna know what his thought process was bc that was an absolute mess of words 😵💫
As someone who has ADHD, I can totally see myself thinking "shit, what's it called when you're both an introvert and an extrovert? Is it bisexual, sure, let's go with bisexual." Being queer, that word would likely come to my brain before ambivert, but I can see someone who's not queer but spends a lot of time around queer people making the same mistake. That said, I also think it's kind of naive to assume a well known actor wouldn't be threatened back into the closet by hollywood. It's not that progressive, and people have their livelihoods threatened all the time simply because they're queer. Frankly, I think all three possibilities have merit. Tbh, I stopped caring about Supernatural a long time ago, but Misha always seemed like the one who did the least amount of queer baiting and his apology does seem quite sincere, so I think it's best to just assume he misspoke and accept the apology until he either actually comes out or he makes another bisexual-esk joke in poor taste and does another similar apology.
Yeah, same. I mean, sometimes your brain just forgets a word, and with "bi" meaning "both", me being gay, my sister being bi, _and_ all the bisexual memes I've seen that are 1+1=bisexual? My brain would definitely substitute ambivert for bisexual. That, or he tried to make a bisexual joke and misspoke. I've flumped the delivery on more jokes that actually did well, and it can definitely change the meaning of your words. If you mess up on the timing, delivery, or word choice the joke either won't be funny or you say something you didn't mean. That being said I don't think there was any ill intent. I really hope it wasn't that he decided to go back in the closet, but looking at the context it's most likely that his brain was lagging. I've done that exact same thing- the worst is when the substitute word makes sense and nobody corrects you, because then you realize hours after the fact and get super embarrassed.
Yeah, this whole thing is so weird. Part of me wonders if he was talking to the crowd as Castiel in that moment since his character is bi, but yeah, weird. A huge part of me thinks he probably felt a need to re-closet himself, which would be sad. Idk though, really weird.
I think it's possible to explain how this happened. The context is that he was speaking casually without knowing in advance what he would say -- that's why he could make this mistake. So first he was talking about introverts and extroverts, then he decided to make a reference to bisexuals because he knew the audience would like it, but then he immediately realized he did NOT want to talk about his own sexuality, and in that moment a disconnect occurred between his brain and his tongue. He thought that "I'm all three" would sound noncommittal without being negative. As a public figure he's used to thinking of ways to avoid sensitive questions, and he thought that's what he was doing. It's like if someone asked him, "Who do you think is the best actor -- Tom Holland, Tom Hiddleston, or Tom Hardy?" And not wanting to make waves he could just say, "I think all three are the best." It sounds playful and positive without really answering the question. In this case, he just failed to think through what he was saying. He didn't realize he actually was making a commitment. So he had to walk it back. That's how I see it anyway. Of course I might well be wrong!
Yes. You can't hear it from this side of the room, but someone in the crowd yelled "Misha, you didn't raise your hand!" and he was trying to deflect the question. There was both delight and concern the night of from folks present, worry that that he didn't mean to come out but it was blowing up online. The fan who yelled it out felt terrible, but it really wasn't their fault.
What you said at 22:23 makes a lot of sense! At Jensen's panel, Misha joined in. Jensen mentioned he got diagnosed as "ADD" when he was a kid, and Misha went like "Me too!"
I thought that he accidentally said bisexual when he meant ambivert, that's the only way the context would make sense to me, but then watching the rest where he doubles down and says bisexual *again* and like, explains why he brought it up in a way that sounds aware of the fact that it didn't really have to do with the rest of the discussion... Idk I'm very confused. Also I generally try not to speculate about real people's sexuality, it's not my business, but despite myself I can't help but feel *really* curious about what the deal is here because I just want to understand what on earth he was *trying* to say and how this made any sense as a way to say it
As someone with ADHD, when it comes to speech errors it really depends on which one you're talking about. Trust me, I've pretty much done them all. When someone misspeaks, it's usually referred to as a "slip of the tongue". In other words, you said one word when you meant another. This error is often recognized and corrected quickly. Another type is called word substitution, which isn't recognized as easily by the person who misspoke. Basically when your brain forgets a word, sometimes it replaces the word with a different one. When this happens the connection between the substituted word and it's meaning is temporarily severed. The funny thing about that is, if the substituted word is plausible with the context you set up, no one will correct you. I've had particularly slow brain days where I've been in this situation- I even continued to use the word several more times and didn't realize until hours later. That doesn't necessarily mean that's what happened here. From what I know about Misha as a person (which is nothing) it's just as likely that he tried to make a bi joke that didn't land. However I don't think his intention, whatever it was, was to do harm.
@@kaivaughn7319 Fair enough, good point! I also have ADHD myself. And yeah I wasn't saying that I think his intent was to do harm, I don't, I was just confused
@@kaivaughn7319 I'm not super partial to this drama, but I really appreciate your comment. I just feel very validated by it. I have ADHD but don't really have a lot of knowledge about it or how it affects the way I communicate. So thank you!
Maybe he meant, he felt he was both an introvert and an extrovert and equated that to bisexuality, as in I'm into both, being an extrovert and an introvert. In the way many straight people think bisexuality as being 'into both men and women'. Then misspoke as in said 'I'm all three' instead of saying 'I'm both'. I think it's a strange thing to say and agree this is unlikely but not impossible.
I think he misspoke and then panicked and decided to just roll with it but then later realized he can’t just pretend to be bisexual cause he misspoke onstage
I'm guessing that he was trying to say ambivert, and mixed it up with bisexual, because they both have something to do with two and are about how you interact with other people.
I do think that coming out in 2022 can be difficult even when you have a lgbt fanbase. There's a lot of stigma around bisexual men, and with all the harmful legislature centered on queer people right now it could be scary. I know he's a person of privilege, but his (potential) thought process could be "my community is targeted, and I don't know if it's gonna get worse from here and I need to be safe." That all being said, nobody knows except Misha and his partner. I wouldn't wanna speculate, but I just wanted to give some food for thought about why he might have reservations IF he was queer. Anyways, love the channel Brennen. Hope you're well.
I'm in the fandom and the fans, especially rpf can be a bit invasive, and a lot them had this weird running joke that he's secretly a "bottom" because he keeps calling himself a top. I remember last year when he put his pronouns in his bio some people were saying "if he knew what nonbinary was he'd go with they/them" it was weird.
I am currently in spn twitter and tumblr fandom. it is a shitshow so many people are taking sides and so many people have been hurt. imo you dont have to support/defend your fave when they've done something wrong. He has done something wrong and it is his fault that he said it, not the fans. did we all get excited at the confirmation that he was supposedly bi? yes bc so many of us (including myself) are queer and seeing queer actors and media, is so important and rare to us. he said he was bi of his own volition not bc of the fandom.
I'm not a gossip-y person nor I watched Supernatural so I really dislike the people's projection of a character's perceived sexuality onto an actor...but that was so messy :/ I feel like he could have tried a "I am both" kind of joke relating to introverts/extroverts and stumbled.
I think he was aiming to make a joke that's in the same vein as that joke that goes "Are you left handed, right handed or bisexual?" but at the same time tried to insert a more sincere "shout out to the bisexual community!" (because as he pointed out, there's no natural opportunity to do that) and the whole thing just derailed and flopped.
I get the sense that what he said was just a bad dad joke - introvert? Extrovert? Or bisexual? Then immediately realized how it sounded and kinda panicked.
Ok...I can totally see myself accidentally calling ambiverts, bisexuals, because I cannot remember the word ambiverts. He is the sweetest man, always working for good causes and charities, super nice to fans-- I feel so bad that he felt bad about this. There's nothing to think about this, his sexuality is his business, and I think the fandom pushing this for so long and ingraining it into the fandom eventually led to this. It would constantly be on my mind too at every fan meetup I went to, if I were him. There's so many shitty Hollywood actors out there, let's give one of the good ones a break.
My general approach is always to respect people's privacy - I suppose it's inevitable that we would assume the sexuality of people in the public eye, but it's not really our place to theorize, not to mention that there has been instances in the past where people were pushed to come out because of this type of public scrutiny and that is... Obviously not a good outcome (pardon the pun). We need to be mindful about these things, real people's lives are not fiction, terms like "queerbaiting" does not and should not apply to them. Even if they are seemingly trying to appeal to a queer audience in a way that some people would read that way, we should still offer as much grace as possible, because we do not know their personal lives and we're not entitled to that information either. It's always better to just take people at face value when they're talking about their own identity. That all being said, this really is a weird situation, especially seeing the clip itself. I maintain that I'm not sure theorizing about his sexuality is the best approach, but I personally wholeheartedly support the good-natured memeification of the whole fiasco. 😂
The other piece that the spn people are grappling with is the fact that his ex wife has written the book (literally) about having threesomes as a part of her marriage (and he was her husband at the time).
Oh and he later agreed when someone in the audience said all poets are bisexual (talking about his poetry book) and he agreed. So there is no way that is a mistake.
I think I've been Mandela'd because I remember him coming out as bi years ago. I thought it was an already known fact 😂 😂 Either way, as a slightly older queer who hasn't been in the SPN fandom for years, I believe that the reaction was just way overblown by fans. The SPN fandom is big and loud, and the reaction to anything is always going to be big and loud. I'm going to think upon this with sympathy, and Misha decided that he wasn't ready.
Yeah I thought that was like I thing and I got confused like you dude you’ve been out of the closet for so long why are you going back in I swear people brought it up on tumble back in the day
I don't think you were Mandela'd and here's why: Vicki Vantoch (spelling is wrong probably) wrote a book about herself and her husband having threesomes. Misha is her husband and if I remember correctly, some of their partners in those threesomes were men. A lot of people took that as Misha having at least some interest in men and him having a wife and kids just meant that Misha was potentially bi, but in a relationship with a woman. It's been a long time since folks talked about the book and I haven't personally read it but that was the zeitgeist a long time ago about Misha's sexuality.
I've paused midway through this video to write this comment so I don't yet have full context and therefore I may be jumping the gun here but I have two things to say. (Edit: I've now finished the video and yeah, nothing really needs to change about this comment) 1: I just a little bit ago got done watching your video about Harry Styles not queerbaiting, and in that video you said that you don't think real people can queerbait. If Misha truly is heterosexual, I feel like this is what real people queerbaiting would look like. Maybe it's uncommon, maybe it's super common, but either way this is what that is IF Misha is definitely heterosexual. 2: The main reason I've paused this to write this comment is because I've just gotten to the part where you're browsing people's responses to Misha's backtrack, and one person wrote that they jumped to conclusions and were sorry for doing so, but that's not an accurate description of what happened. Nobody took anything out of context and jumped to a random conclusion. They watched a man bring up the topic of bisexuality unprompted and proceed to say that he was exactly that. That's not an accident, that's not an ill-advised off-handed comment, it wasn't a random statement that people have warped out of its original context. What Misha said was very deliberate which means one of two things. Either he IS bisexual but got scared and went back into the closet, or he deliberately made a statement with the intention of queerbaiting his fans and creating fan-service. In 2022, ESPECIALLY if you claim to be a fierce LGBTQIA+ ally, you don't "accidentally" say something like that. You say it either because it's true or because you wanna queerbait an audience.
People say he meant ambivert when he said 'bisexual', either on accident or as a joke, but i really don't think so. He follows the question by saying something to the effect of "that was a non sequitor haha". He knew what he was saying. He didn't mean 'ambivert'. He's a smart guy, he KNOWS what his words mean. And if he really was trying to say ambivert there are a lot of different, more effective ways to say that.
There's a bit more under the surface here is that Stands, which is a fandom merch shop that Misha owns and he knows the person that runs it and the twitter account, referred to Misha as a queer man in a deleted tweet AND after the video surfaced sent out an email to those subbed to their mailing list a link to bisexual/Misha/Destiel merch, with the header "For introverts and extroverts 🌈". Like. This whole situation is bonkers. I watched the fallout on tumblr and my god the memes were hilarious
Exactly, well said. Misha is very intentional with his words. The double-down that you mentioned is another proof. Furthermore, I read it took him a day or two to publicly apologize, and he started selling merch with his associative quote “introvert & extrovert”. So yes, he knew what he was doing
I think I would be more mad if he'd gained anything here? Like... idk, it's weird enough that I buy he fucked up speaking in front of a crowd and he apologized. I called some cows horses over the weekend knowing full well that they they didn't look like horses and that I was bringing it up because my girlfriend likes horses. This is the same energy. Or maybe not!! Like you said, we'll probably never know. If he doesn't do it again, I'm personally willing to just let this go. It's weird, it hurt people, but I literally cannot imagine a reason he did this on purpose. Edit: An important part of the horse story is that it took me literally 3 minutes to realize I fucked up and if I were on stage having moved on to another topic I would definitely be too panicked to correct myself.
When I saw the tweet, I hadn't seen the video or heard his actual words at the convention, so I did assume he somehow mixed up the words, and he actually meant "ambivert", but after watching that video there's no way that's the case, he even mentions how its different than the other two. I don't understand how that could possibly be misspeaking. I guess I'll take his word for it, but this is just a wild and strange situation.
I don't think it's healthy to speculate on another persons sexuality. I get, that it is a weird situation, but we will never know what happened unless he says more about it. If he says he is straight we have to take it seriously and believe it.
Oh he's definitely without a clear sexuality now - why should bisexuality carry less weight than straightness? He deserves to be treated as if he said nothing, and I think that's the common ground we'll all find, but.. let's stop treating straightness as a default, let's leave his sexuality grey! (after all *when* is it going to be important?)
@@bellarosethorne I agree that straightness shouldn't be the default. But he said in his tweet, that he is straight. So that is why we should take his word for it.
I honestly feel like being bi is insanely hard. People will still shove us in "gay" or "straight" boxes depending on who we're in a relationship with, there are many negative stereotypes that are attached to bisexuality, and I feel like it must be especially difficult for cis men to come out as bi, because they often get ridiculed and get accused by dudebros of not being masculine enough or whatever other biphobic garbage. it's a ton of pressure. and with someone like Misha, I bet the internet just immediately turned it into a hype fandom moment, like this is someone's identity, it's not something for ppl to fangirl over and get hype about. if it was a true coming out, it seems to me like the words just slipped. I've definitely overshared things about my identity to people, unprompted, before I was ready, because my brain LOVES to overshare, and sometimes I regret it after. Maybe it's because I bring up weird shit on my own all the time but I don't see it as weird. In any case, I don't really want to...sit here speculating about his identity, bc that's just weird and kinda toxic. In any case it seems like he's exploring himself, which is fantastic, and walking it back SHOULD be okay. exploring sexuality isn't a straight line from point A to point B, this is something we queers tell each other all the time, so why can't this apply to Misha? there was a time in my life I actually came out as bi and then took it back, bc I was not ready. it's not his fault the spn writers queerbaited their audience, and he is not Cas. If he says he's straight, that's where he is right now, and I think calling what he did queerbaiting is unfair. he isn't a fictional character. he's a real person. I have ADHD myself, and a lot of jokes fly over my head, but it didn't come off like he was making a joke in poor taste to me, and it would be very unlike him to do something like that, so i think we can relax on that theory, and be assured he didn't mean harm.
did he get some kind of personal backlash that made him recloset himself or something??? this is such a weird fucking situation and I'm honestly worried more than anything else. I've seen people claiming it's connected to the rampant spn queerbaiting but that just doesn't make any sense supernatural as a show is over and castiel is dead anyways, what would this accomplish?
Okay I think my take is in an older video said that he was Polly. I think that the apology was too much especially with jraded and Jenson. Like there is one tape of the two mention were Jarded compare being gay to being a predator. So take that as you will.
I honestly don’t think it’s a cruel joke. Misha has been an ally for a while. He’s done a lot of work through gish, his way of using his standing with fans to put good in the world. And spoken many times before about his support for the community. I can’t imagine he would do this maliciously or as a joke. I don’t know what happened and it’s all very weird. But I really don’t think he meant to cause harm. And I think we owe anyone talking about their sexuality trust and belief. If he says he’s straight, he’s straight. If he later says he’s bi again, then he’ll be bi. But we’ll cross that bridge if we get to it.
You are right. It's weird, but we have to respect his decision to regret saying that for whatever reason. I hope he understands why all of his fans are so pissed off, though. I've been a fan of his for a short time and I'm not sure if I'm ready to forgive him and continue to admire him the same way I used to, it doesn't even matter to him I'm not the type of fan who can bring him some profit or influence... My opinion of him literally doesn't impact the man.
that really doesnt make any sense at all. he brought bisexuality up in the first place and the things he said after clearly show that he understands the difference between introverst/extroverts and bisexuals lmfao it wouldnt have been weird at all if he just asked "who of you is an ambivert?" so the whole "ohh he misspoke, he meant ambivert mimimi" argument doesnt really work
I hate that he feels like he's made some grave error deserving of ridicule. Regardless of whether he actually is bi or playing into the queerness of the fandom, he didn't say anything terrible. He expressed himself in a way he seems to regret now. Regardless of the reason, he wasn't being offensive and deserves to be allowed to walk it back just like any closeted person might. As long as his intentions weren't to queer-bait, he didn't say/do anything bad. If we judge his sexuality (which we do not know in the same way he does) based on words he said he regretted saying, we're making it harder for people who are LGBTQ+ to come out on their own terms, at their own pace. Imagine if he actually is bi and we're refusing to let him return to the closet until he feels ready to come out. Imagine if he's actually straight and misspoke, but we aren't believing him because we REALLY want a queer Misha Collins. That really sucks and it's a lot of pressure to "perform" his sexuality, so to speak.
wow i really can’t believe how much drama comes from this show even after being off the air for years. this is honestly really frustrating to see from misha who, as you said, should really know better. he claims to be an ally & has actually done some good stuff for queer people but this is not ally behavior. misha does have a really cheeky sense of humor & can be a bit of a lil shit sometimes but i really can’t think of any good excuse for this. i’m not going to speculate on his sexuality, but i will say that this kinda reminds me of janelle monet accidentally coming out as non-binary with a tweet a few years ago just to immediately backtrack. they just came out as non-binary officially like a week ago or so i believe (what is time idk) so while i can see how this might have been something similar to that, there’s really no way to know unless misha says something else on the topic. do i think this is the worst thing ever? no. but it is really annoying & i understand how a lot of queer/lgbt people could be hurt by this. kinda perfectly demonstrates why i left this fandom.
I honestly think he mispoke with the “I’m all three” or was joking, and didn’t think it through. He wanted to bring up bisexuality itself to make the fans happy and then fucked up. If he did come out then retract it then the hate he’s getting makes me sad.
I don't think people realize how harmful queerbait can be. I'm part of a fandom (supergirl) where we were queerbaited as well and when the show ended with this ship not being cannon, I could see, read all the people that it hurt. Our representation is very limited and to be lead on to think that your comfort character is queer, that went throgh the same experiences as you to then being told that we are delusional??? It's an awful feeling. These showsare a safe space for lots of queer people. The thought of a character that you relate to being just like you,(headcannoning them a queer) is an idea people hold dear to their heart, and when others just take advantage of that... you can actually feel the hollow in you gut... If this guy did it as queerbait then i hate it. He should know better with the big fandom that spn has. I have literally no words to describe how awful of a person you have to be to take advantage of YOUR fans
He's a person. He isn't just the character he played. He isn't just this spn character. Sepreate them, he worded it wrong and he has apologized he has shown countless of times even before being on a spot light how much he cares about our community. It was a mistake and it's okay to be mad but this isn't about a character in a show this is about a person
Am I the only one who doesn't hear "I'm all three"? Cause honestly it doesn't sound or *look* like he's saying that at all to me. If you watch his lips it doesn't look like he says three? It looks more like he's saying "I'm not one" or "I'm all fine", I honestly wonder whether he didn't say something else and people misheard it, but I wondered that when I first heard about this so *'shrugs'*

He made a mistake, Stop reading into other people's sexuality whether he did or didn't just go back into the closet. We are aware that Misha is a huge ally and he wouldn't do anything malicious to the LGBT community. He has apologized you can accept it or not that is up to you but do not make assumptions of someone's sexuality on your own. It's just not very nice, I'm bisexual in the closet. If I came out as bisexual and for some reason I had to take it back and you go around like I think he is scared to come out then it's just doing me harm. Just take his word. He says he's straight then he is that since when do we get to question real people's sexuality. You are all go ahead and feel angry at him but leave it at that do not try to "figure him out".
@@diobrando2532 i have and the most I've seen people express here is frustration with the situation or disappointment if this is somehow a continuation of spn queerbaiting(albeit a ridiculous claim, real peoples sexualities are not queerbaiting) but nobody here saying they're _angry_ at him
@@Ari_C someone legit stated their angry and it doesn't matter if they aren't or are I'm just saying not to assume people's sexuality so I really don't see your point in saying this
Overall, great video. Just want to point out one thing that sometimes kind of bugs me when it comes to SPN discourse post-the tail end of the last season. As one of the memes you shared points out, it's not really fair to accuse the show of queerbaiting (unless there are other examples that have nothing to do with Dean and Castiel that I've just never heard anyone mention) after they made it actually canon. The way Castiel came out was problematic in a lot of ways (with some caveats, but neither time nor place to get into that), but it also kind of meant that the whole time, they weren't queerbaiting, since queerbaiting refers to hinting that characters are queer without actually making them queer. And in this case, they did the thing. They made him canonically queer. It makes sense that the show is still associated with queerbaiting, since for so long it did appear that that was probably what it was going to turn out they'd been doing the whole time. But then it wasn't. And the discourse needs to change accordingly.
He just says "I love you" and immediately dies with no clarification or further follow up. It's the most non-committal way they could have possibly "confirmed" it. They strung along the queer audience the whole way and there is still no meaningfully queer content in the show, so IMO it's fully queerbaiting. Edit:/gen bc this sounds kinda aggressive when I read it back. ;-;
@@benenwren4110 I think the show definitely deserves criticism for not doing more to follow up on and explore his coming out, and for not hammering the point home like they probably should have, but given that those involved have confirmed that that scene was supposed to be read as Castiel expressing romantic affection for Dean, it's still confirmation that the character was, in fact, queer all along. A shitty job revealing something doesn't mean the thing being revealed doesn't exist, or that its existence is still in question. The show is still guilty of a lot of queerphobic tropes. Queerbaiting just happens not to be one of them.
my best guess is that he was using "bisexual" as a joking way of talking about being an ambivert? so it was meant to be a light-hearted joke but it WAS worded in a very clumsy way and because he is (as far as we know) straight he was overstepping in making a joke like that, which, he wouldn't be the first straight person to get too comfortable making jokes about queerness around queer fans who CAN make those jokes
my thing is this. i don't thing he did something really bad. i don't see why people should be particularly mad about this. im not a supernatural fan but as a bisexual i feel like we forgot that people's sexualities are their own business at the end of the day. like i find this hilarious and really odd, but i feel as if putting so much pressure on this in the case that he did actually put himself back in the closet. but idk. i just feel like people shouldn't be offended about someone else's coming out. it could be disappointing but i also feel it is unfair to attack him about this very personal subject. especially because it seems like theres a good chance he did in fact go back in the closet which is sad.
I honestly think if it had been any other actor it wouldn’t be this big an issue, but the SPN fandom has always been rather loud and opinionated. Plus, the show went out of its way to queerbait the character Misha plays as bi, have that character say “I love you” to Dean before dying and when people were like “did Cas just come out???” The show runners and actors treated their fans like delusional freaks for reading into subtext that they took advantage of to keep their audience. I completely agree with your stance; I just think this hit a sore spot for some people and it caused a big fuss as a result.
@@IsaRican810 i understand what you mean. again though, i feel like the connection between the rage of the fans about the WRITER'S queerbaiting in shows should not be, and is inappropriately connected to the ACTOR's sexuality. these things are not actually related. and a person's real life experiences should not be viewed as a marketing ploy or as queerbaiting. he isnt the character he plays in the show and hes not a character at all. sorry for the tangent i know you get what i mean this kind of made me think about it more.
Honestly the entire thing is more confusing then it is infuriating, it really does sound like a coming out but yet he retracted it- its all just extremely confusing😭
@@jonathanfuchs6262 I totally get you. Unfortunately a lot of people seem to have trouble differentiating fiction from reality and separating actor from the characters they play across all kinds of media. And it’s easiest to project whatever feelings you have about a piece of media onto the things you associate with it like the actors as opposed to the writers who you’re likely not familiar with.
He meant ambivert. A person that is both an introvert and an extrovert is an ambivert. He meant to say ambivert and said bisexual instead, and hell ensued.
i'm so so sorry to be annoying but i have an audio processing disorder, is there anywhere i could find subtitles of what misha was saying in his panel? i want to be "in" on this so bad but i can't hear / understand him
Nevermind, rewatching the clip I can see how the subtitles switching between brennan and the clip of misha is probably really hard to read! Little transcription then :) [The part beforehand isn't really important at all, just rambling about self care and extroversion vs introversion.] "By a show of force, how many of you would consider yourselves introverts? Any extroverts? And how many bisexuals?" "I'm all three." [Stammering] "See, it would have been weird if I had just asked who here is bisexual, but I teathered it into another question so it's acceptable." [Lots of stammering as he changes the topic back to introverts and extroverts]
Oh misha my love 😩 Ya'll don't even know how excited I was when he "came out" as bisexual. Like as someone who's in love with him, I swear I screamed. I WAS SHAKING! 😂🤣 Also that thumb nail of him you have up is sooooooo sexy 😩🥵 I definitely see the denial part and maybe he feels so safe with the Fandom, it just came out like that. Someone also said abivert wich is extrovert and introvert together... I see that was the highest possibility. I've only been in the supernatural Fandom for a year and half. I'm on season 12 and yes it took me over a year to watch all that 🤣. I just take my time. Point is, I know how badly people wanted destiel to be cannon (I guess it is now, I saw the spoilers) Also wanting jensen and misha together... cockles.. so yaaaaa.... people have been all over his sexuality for years. Wanting and wishing. I do not think this was malicious at all. I really hope misha doesn't get canceled. I don't think he will. Also if this Fandom is mainly queer, where are all the character x male reader fanfics?! 😡😡😡😡😡 I feel like there are only 20 out of thousands of female ones.
Okay so I understand that you wanted to post this but please please please understand that Misha Collins put a post on his social media explaining that this came out completely wrong. He felt sick with how this got misconstrued and he explained he was trying to waive off the question aimed back at him and it went horribly wrong. He's definitely an LGBTQIA+ supporter (if I added or missed a letter lemme know because I'm not trying to be wrong here). I think anyone who has posted these videos needs to make this disclaimer right away as the clarification came out from Misha himself about the intentions and how he hates how it backfired.
This entire thing is so insufferable lmao. Imo he was joking and then had to make a public apology for people taking him too seriously and then his apology was critizised because he was emphasizing that he doesnt want to be hurtful to the queer community. Like no matter what he says, if he doesnt get railed by jensen on stage at a con then people wont be satisfied.
Is he in a relationship? Like what if a wife or girlfriend forced him back in the closet? Or maybe he has a conservative family or religious family. It’s possible he came out in a safe space and then was badgered by family. It’s incredibly hard to be disowned. I also think it’s incredibly possible “Hollywood” forced him back in the closet.
He's married but his wife seem pretty chill so I doubt it was that. He likely got overwhelmed by the reaction or had a bad reaction from someone else in his life
he and his wife are divorced HOWEVER, and this is important that you know this for context, his wife wrote a book on being polyamorous and having threesomes within her marriage (with misha). so...it would be incredibly odd if she pushed back on this.
For me at least, as someone from the fandom, I thought that he was trying to gain more support from his queer fan base (which everyone knows is queer!) by “coming out” as bisexual, because it would mean a lot to the fans if the queerbating wasn’t in poor taste. Whenever something happens with the SPN actors though, as a Supernatural fan I’m pretty cynical, because they deny that queerbating was even happening
I really loved supernatural, watched 14 seasons. Was never ever in the fandom or tumblr or anywhere that was supernatural crazy. I stopped watching it and never saw the final season which I'm sorta upset about. I know I'll get shit on if any of my friends found out I watch it, especially because I'm rewatching it. It's honestly a great show. Last good show the CW made. Idk as a practicing witch I connect with supernatural and refuse to think it's bad. The fandom is undeniably bad.
I'm no longer in the supernatural fandom, never saw the last season either, but I disagree that the fandom is bad. I met some of the most open minded and supportive people there, though of course there's toxic fans as well. That is the nature of all groups of human beings I'm afraid, especially on the internet.
Cas’s relationship with dean was queerbaited but I’d like to clarify cas was always canonically aroace nonbinary as all angels are in spn. I really do feel that this was a misspeak, you can see in his face that he realised he messed up the language as soon as he said bisexual. I can see why people are upset though and I really do hope that he didn’t get overwhelmed by the fans blowing it up and go back in the closet if he is genuinely bi
@@Briarhearted queerplatonic love exists, and if I remember correctly he shows sexual/romantic attraction only when his angel-ness is lessened for some reason
I think a lot of ppl, including you Brennen, are being weirdly parasocial about this and *want* him to be bisexual so bad that they can't even comprehend that the (most likely) possibility of what happened is that because he's so comfortable with his audience being queer, he tried making a bisexual joke. But because he's straight, it obviously came out wrong and he probably clarified that he wasn't bisexual because all you guys were being weird about it lmao. It is NOT the most logical explanation that he was coming out as bi, you guys put wayyyy too much credit on out of touch straight celebrities
Hard to ‘misspeak’ on something that you brought up completely unprompted. Facts are these, this man who has just publicly come out as cis het has been making queer/gay ‘jokes’ for the better part of 13 years. He needs to be held accountable and stop using mlm attraction as a ‘funny joke’ if he’s not part of the community. Signed, a tired bisexual trans man who has cared about this sub par CW show for far too long
I definitely see queer baiting from the actors especially canonically, but as for the characters of Cas and Dean, I always got more abandonment trauma/attachment from Dean toward Cas than sexual tension.

Misha is a manipulative individual. Always has been. He has used his fans to keep his boring, stuck in a rut character on the show for all these years, all to keep his job, and to keep sucking the fandom for money. He uses political strategies to pretty much get away with saying and doing numerous outrageous and often offensive behavior. But because he manipulated the fandom into accepting his "eccentricity" almost everyone waved off his sus actions as "oh that's just Misha, he's different and funny". He especially uses the LGBTQ+ BECAUSE he knows how high the number of queer fans there are. Want the biggest proof? He knew for more than a year BEFORE the episode where his character, Castiel, was to confess his love for Dean, was to be filmed. He sprung it on Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, only when it was too late to try and change it. I don't think Jensen would've objected, since he too has been a supporter of the LGBT for many years. But keeping Jensen in the dark about it for so long, might've gave the impression that Misha thought Jensen would object. Not because Jensen is against the LGBTQ, but because both the main stars AND the creator have repeatedly stated that Supernatural is not about couples and romance and all the other stuff other shows are about. But that could explain why when they filmed that scene, Jensen, who is well known for having an amazing skill of acting out emotional scenes, just stood there and stared while Misha was blubbering out his love confession. It was super cringey. Anyways, the proof I was speaking of was in how he kept encouraging destiel shippers to keep harassing Jensen, to the point where Jensen had to straight out say, to hundreds of fans at a con "DESTIEL DOESN'T EXIST". Then, just a day after that cringey confession episode aired, merchandise for that scene was available for purchase! If that didn't scream 'manipulative' I don't know what will to his delusional fans.
Ah yes introvert+extrovert=bisexuality. Happens to the best of us in between

@@brennenbeckwith listen I'm still having issues thinking about the fact that I'm in my 20s and I'll be 22 this year

It’s such a strange story because there’s really no ambiguity. Until I saw the clip, I thought it was an awkward answer to a fan question, but… why would you bring up bisexuality out of nowhere and then explicitly say that it is one of the things you are?
To me the most likely explanations are either:
1. He is bi and chose to come out and then went back into the closet for an unknown reason
#1 I’d put money on it. The heavy breathing before his reveal was extra lmao
I think he made the mistake of getting too comfortable around queer culture. He tried to make a bisexual meme joke (the one about bisexuals not being able to pick between two things). And he made a tongue in cheek joke about his sexuality. Then had to correct when he realized it backfired.
This is exactly it.
I don't speak for all bi people but this whole ordeal is THEE funniest thing to me I'm sorry 😭 of course it's a supernatural actor that comes out then immediately after uncomes out as straight, is this an SNL skit?
i saw it on tumblr and i was like, supernatural actor retracts his coming out? yeah, that tracks
Part of me, a bisexual, worries that he had a bad interpersonal relationship backlash, and then just pulled back. But I could be projecting cause I also had a bad reaction when I came out, so its completely possible he just got use to the thrill of fandom and queer baiting and that's it.
Damn what thrill :(
I wouldn't be surprised if he just wasn't ready for the media coverage he got and how much the fandom would freak out or forgot he hadn't told someone in his life yet.
@@fatalimmortality801 ya I highly doubt he did it out of malicious or disrespect. I think it was too much for him too.

The word he meant to say is ambivert.
I low-key really appreciate this comment because the audio quality of that recording is so bad I have no idea what he said there lol
I think he misspoke and then panicked and decided to just roll with it but then later realized he can’t just pretend to be bisexual cause he misspoke onstage
I'm guessing that he was trying to say ambivert, and mixed it up with bisexual, because they both
have something to do with two and are about how you interact with other people.
I do think that coming out in 2022 can be difficult even when you have a lgbt fanbase.
There's a lot of stigma around bisexual men, and with all the harmful legislature centered on queer people right now it could be scary. I know he's a person of privilege, but his (potential) thought process could be "my community is targeted, and I don't know if it's gonna get worse from here and I need to be safe."
That all being said, nobody knows except Misha and his partner.
He has done something wrong and it is his fault that he said it, not the fans. did we all get excited at the confirmation that he was supposedly bi? yes bc so many of us (including myself) are queer and seeing queer actors and media, is so important and rare to us. he said he was bi of his own volition not bc of the fandom.
also the fandom is ridiculously biphobic ive noticed too.
I really feel that he realised he didn't want to come out after he did it in the spur of the moment :/
This
I'm not a gossip-y person nor I watched Supernatural so I really dislike the people's projection of a character's perceived sexuality onto an actor...but that was so messy :/ I feel like he could have tried a "I am both" kind of joke relating to introverts/extroverts and stumbled.
we most definitely are the most queerbaited fandom ever
I think he was aiming to make a joke that's in the same vein as that joke that goes "Are you left handed, right handed or bisexual?" but at the same time tried to insert a more sincere "shout out to the bisexual community!" (because as he pointed out, there's no natural opportunity to do that) and the whole thing just derailed and flopped.
I get the sense that what he said was just a bad dad joke - introvert? Extrovert? Or bisexual? Then immediately realized how it sounded and kinda panicked.
Sure except he doubled-down and said he was trying to slip bisexual in his speech
I just want to know why it took 48 hours to correct the mistake? Because if I misspoke like that, I would IMMEDIATELY correct myself.
Did he mean to say “who is both [introvert and extrovert]?” So confused as to how this would be mis-speaking
I think I've been Mandela'd because I remember him coming out as bi years ago. I thought it was an already known fact 😂 😂
Either way, as a slightly older queer who hasn't been in the SPN fandom for years, I believe that the reaction was just way overblown by fans. The SPN fandom is big and loud, and the reaction to anything is always going to be big and loud. I'm going to think upon this with sympathy, and Misha decided that he wasn't ready.
we should really start a club - I could've sworn he's been out for ages, too. :)
Yeah I thought that was like I thing and I got confused like you dude you’ve been out of the closet for so long why are you going back in I swear people brought it up on tumble back in the day
Yeah no, I’m not even into SPN or the actors but I could’ve sworn he’s at least had a fakeout coming out in the past
I feel like when you say slightly older queer you mean you're 27. 💀
I hadn't seen the full context of it yet and he literally brought it to himself. MY GOD!
I've paused midway through this video to write this comment so I don't yet have full context and therefore I may be jumping the gun here but I have two things to say. (Edit: I've now finished the video and yeah, nothing really needs to change about this comment)
1: I just a little bit ago got done watching your video about Harry Styles not queerbaiting, and in that video you said that you don't think real people can queerbait.
The memes that came out of this was incredible.
It only makes sense if you see it as him re-closeting himself
mans couldve used the word ambivert oTL
Honestly? It sounds like he was misquoting the "eat hot chip and lie" copypasta. And he thought everyone would get what he was talking about.
THE MEMES AND JOKES ARE SO FUNNY THO I CANT
did he get some kind of personal backlash that made him recloset himself or something??? this is such a weird fucking situation and I'm honestly worried more than anything else. I've seen people claiming it's connected to the rampant spn queerbaiting but that just doesn't make any sense supernatural as a show is over and castiel is dead anyways, what would this accomplish?
Yeah this isn’t how misha usually acts at all, so it also made me worry about him
@FlyingMonkies325 really cause he says some shit. I found the clip of him saying he’s poly. Like whoa sir
BRENNEN DID MISHA VIDEO??? DUDE THIS IS MY IDOL AJASDASNASD
I've accidentally indirectly come out as trans and then had to say it was a joke, so I would kinda get it
I really don't get this. I'm really wondering if he is bi, but stepped back into the closet... and that makes me really sad for him.
If it was a stunt then that's gay of him. Little drama queen.
I think he wanted to say “flexovert” and blundered, and then panicked.
I’m not part of the SPN fandom anymore but the thumbnail and title got to me
I'm 99% sure he meant "bisexual" in a cheeky way, as in "who's both an introvert and an extrovert".
that really doesnt make any sense at all. he brought bisexuality up in the first place and the things he said after clearly show that he understands the difference between introverst/extroverts and bisexuals lmfao
it wouldnt have been weird at all if he just asked "who of you is an ambivert?" so the whole "ohh he misspoke, he meant ambivert mimimi" argument doesnt really work
I hate that he feels like he's made some grave error deserving of ridicule. That really sucks and it's a lot of pressure to "perform" his sexuality, so to speak.
exactly what i was thinking
wow i really can’t believe how much drama comes from this show even after being off the air for years. this is honestly really frustrating to see from misha who, as you said, should really know better. he claims to be an ally & has actually done some good stuff for queer people but this is not ally behavior. misha does have a really cheeky sense of humor & can be a bit of a lil shit sometimes but i really can’t think of any good excuse for this.
i’m not going to speculate on his sexuality, but i will say that this kinda reminds me of janelle monet accidentally coming out as non-binary with a tweet a few years ago just to immediately backtrack. they just came out as non-binary officially like a week ago or so i believe (what is time idk)
so while i can see how this might have been something similar to that, there’s really no way to know unless misha says something else on the topic. do i think this is the worst thing ever? no. but it is really annoying & i understand how a lot of queer/lgbt people could be hurt by this. kinda perfectly demonstrates why i left this fandom.
V-V supernatural is very queerbaited.... it's rough out here
I honestly think he mispoke with the “I’m all three” or was joking, and didn’t think it through.
It was a mistake and it's okay to be mad but this isn't about a character in a show this is about a person
a real persons sexuality is not queerbaiting. people, queer or not, do not exist to be representation
Your bangs look really nice!
I guess I'm in the minority as a straight Supernatural fan who isn't well versed in the LGBTQ culture. I have several cousins who are trans or nonbinary, and I do consider myself an ally.
took me a whole 10 minutes to realize this is the dude form supernatural T_T
You are all go ahead and feel angry at him but leave it at that do not try to "figure him out".
nobody here is angry with him, who the hell are you talking to??
@@Ari_C read the comments I would not be saying this if their is no one angry.
He just says "I love you" and immediately dies with no clarification or further follow up. It's the most non-committal way they could have possibly "confirmed" it. They strung along the queer audience the whole way and there is still no meaningfully queer content in the show, so IMO it's fully queerbaiting.
Edit:/gen bc this sounds kinda aggressive when I read it back. ;-;
@@benenwren4110 I think the show definitely deserves criticism for not doing more to follow up on and explore his coming out, and for not hammering the point home like they probably should have, but given that those involved have confirmed that that scene was supposed to be read as Castiel expressing romantic affection for Dean, it's still confirmation that the character was, in fact, queer all along.
Mostly because the show he was on queer baited fans for years so he doesn’t really get that respect I’d give regular people
@@IsaRican810 i understand what you mean. again though, i feel like the connection between the rage of the fans about the WRITER'S queerbaiting in shows should not be, and is inappropriately connected to the ACTOR's sexuality. these things are not actually related. and a person's real life experiences should not be viewed as a marketing ploy or as queerbaiting. he isnt the character he plays in the show and hes not a character at all. sorry for the tangent i know you get what i mean this kind of made me think about it more.
He meant to say ambivert and said bisexual instead, and hell ensued.
the memes made me feel better tho thank u ;-;
Ya if anyone besides misha did this id just have been annoyed like "theyre at it again" But MISHA?
This entire situation just makes me cringe. The second hand embarrassment makes me want to hide forever
i'm so so sorry to be annoying but i have an audio processing disorder, is there anywhere i could find subtitles of what misha was saying in his panel? i want to be "in" on this so bad but i can't hear / understand him
They probably weren't up yet then, but the subtitles are on Brennen's video and include the clip of misha! I'm p sure they were accurate and clear
Nevermind, rewatching the clip I can see how the subtitles switching between brennan and the clip of misha is probably really hard to read! Little transcription then :)
[The part beforehand isn't really important at all, just rambling about self care and extroversion vs introversion.]
"By a show of force, how many of you would consider yourselves introverts? Any extroverts? And how many bisexuals?"
"I'm all three." [Stammering] "See, it would have been weird if I had just asked who here is bisexual, but I teathered it into another question so it's acceptable." [Lots of stammering as he changes the topic back to introverts and extroverts]
Like no matter what he says, if he doesnt get railed by jensen on stage at a con then people wont be satisfied.
hold up! hasn't he already state that years ago? especially in the context of his wife being a sexuality author?
This was so fcking wild
Is he in a relationship? Like what if a wife or girlfriend forced him back in the closet? Or maybe he has a conservative family or religious family. It’s possible he came out in a safe space and then was badgered by family. It’s incredibly hard to be disowned. I also think it’s incredibly possible “Hollywood” forced him back in the closet.
He's married but his wife seem pretty chill so I doubt it was that. He likely got overwhelmed by the reaction or had a bad reaction from someone else in his life
@@fatalimmortality801 he and his wife are separated/ getting divorced fyi
@@wesmoran5215 thanks for letting me know, she still seems pretty chill
@@fatalimmortality801 yeah vicki sounds awesome. She just never wanted to be in the public eye
he and his wife are divorced HOWEVER, and this is important that you know this for context, his wife wrote a book on being polyamorous and having threesomes within her marriage (with misha). so...it would be incredibly odd if she pushed back on this.
Maybe he really wants to be bisexual but just isn’t… Who knows. 🎉 I’ll be over here waiting to hear he’s pansexual! ❤🌈
Om he was joking
Fandom is dead.
Signed, a tired bisexual trans man who has cared about this sub par CW show for far too long
exactly. I would like to copy that and pin it on the head of a lot of people rn.
I feel the same way. It's so exhausting at this point
I definitely see queer baiting from the actors especially canonically, but as for the characters of Cas and Dean, I always got more abandonment trauma/attachment from Dean toward Cas than sexual tension.
I feel like you’re internationally not taking in to account all the gay dean jokes there were like him knowing the name of a gay bar or
Wanting to live in Vermont
@@razminfox1787 I’m just saying what vibes I got… that’s how it read for me.
I’m not intentionally ignoring anything; I haven’t watched the show in a long time so I don’t remember random jokes.
@@razminfox1787 is Vermont an inherently gay place?
@@razminfox1787 please help me (non US person) understand the Vermont reference? We (m|m couple from Europe) are currently working on our personal "gaydar" ping list (mostly as a excuse for the nth rewatch) and I think I may have missed a few references now :) If you know where I can find an existing list of references that would be grand, too :)
@@metainem vermouth was the only state in the us for a long time with civil unions and later gay marriage before it was more common and before it was legal in all the US so wanting to live in Vermont is a vary queer thing in early 2000s media
It was a joke. Like introvert/extrovert... or bisexual.
What does that joke even mean😭😭
