During their debut, maybe. But they def played arena’s and large festivals within the immediate few years following, if I remember correctly. They blew up and people caught on fairly quickly during and right after Count Your Blessings, especially when Suicide Season dropped.
In 2006 (the same year Count Your Blessings was released) they had a live show in ProShot Rockworld that looked pretty packed.

@@AyrdangerNo, he had problems with his vocal cords cause his vocal technique was awful until 2013-2015, but after that Oli started to learn and his vocal became much better. I think he can do this ahhahaha, his mixed parts sounds so cool in The Comedown :)
@@GodlikeLumpen Exactly. Like many other metal vocalists, they only learn how to scream/growl by themselves but not learning how to do it properly to avoid damage to the throat/vocal cords, like Danny Worsnop for instance.

Man, even though I don't really listen to modern bmth, it's SO cool to see sober Oli absolutely nailing his vocals on these songs. To be frank, during the SS/TIAH era, his live vocals were really inconsistent, and it was kind of something that the fans had to put up with. 16 year old me would've been unbelievably happy to see where they're at now :)

This is a pretty common trend with old vocalist. Back then there wasn't so much of a focus on technique, so their killed their voice. The artists that struck with it learned proper technique so they can sustain these screams without doing damage and they have much more control over it. Thursday is another great example, he sounds better live now than he ever did on albums.

That was LITERALLY one of the best things that I have ever heard. Damn, I miss their heavy music though.
If you haven’t yet, check out the new EP they just dropped. They finally found the sweet spot and mixed all their sounds into one project and have reached a new level of unique. No one does it like BMTH. You might be a person who gravitates toward heavy music and nothing else but you should give their other projects a chance and feel the vibe. There’s a reason why they’re still so relevant and arguably the biggest rock band of this generation.

This is good. I can't deny that. Im not a fan of their 1st ep, edge of your seat was made for or their 1st album. But it mashed together like this. And the band sound so much better here aswell as the vocals. I'd be happy to see this live too. I used to only like Sempiternal onwards. but the more you hear this stuff,the better it sounds. Fuck knows why. Must be my 50yr old ears. Cos I hated any of this stuff 10 years ago. Madness. Count your blessings and there is a hell are amazing albums. And I also like that's the spirit and Amo. but survival horror is something else. I'm liking most of their collabs too and the poppunk sound ATM. They like to keep you guessing.but variety is the spice of life IMO what a band 🖤🖤
