You don’t pause in between or interrupt by talking too much while the song is playing, which keeps the flow going and it’s fucking sick. Keep doing your thing man.

I used to transport patients in a hospital. On the 5th floor, Med / Surge Unit, rooms 501 thru 532 existed. I would always have this stuck in my head when I brought someone up to 505.

This is probably their best song, I don't think the next one have high chances to top it lol. 'Do Me a Favor' or 'A Certain Romance' may have a shot at it, but it's hard. 505 is too good

This song is about Alex Turner meeting his lover at a hotel room, the digits on the door are 505, along with the bus route in Sheffield, that is also 505..
He goes through the process of accepting that his lover won’t really be waiting for him at 505, much like he apprehends in the song..

I don’t even think of 505 of a room or anything, I just remember it as going back to like a place, like you know how 619 is Cali? (Or somewhere like that) where a lover is there. Idk this song is good😭😭
619 is the area code of San Diego, California. But I get you totally. It doesn't make sense for 505 in this song to refer to New Mexico.

I think of 505 as a time. Not like 5:05 but more like the number represents a certain period in his life. Maybe it lasted 505 days. Maybe it ended or began on May 5. Whatever it is I don’t wanna know. I like being left with the mystery of it.

505 , balance, seeing past duality and opening the 'third eye' maybe? 7 hour flight (7 chakras) or a 45 minute drive (9 and reference to a car could be the Merkabah)? I'm unsure but I thought it was a neat interpretation. there deffo more to it than just that too

People be theorising about what 505 is but honestly I think it just sounded good as a lyric. Its interesting that the bassline fretboard spells out 505 when playing this song, maybe that was inspiration for the lyric. I don't know.
