COPYRIGHT IS KILLING THE VIDEO THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO UP TODAY SO LIONHEART IS PUSHED FORWARDS EARLIER, THE PEOPLE WANTED MORE VAN DAMME SO HERE IS MORE VAN DAMME BABY!
Hey, it was one if my mom's favourites as well. She literally watched it everyday for the last 2 weeks of her life. So I always love seeing it. Condolences 😢
Attila and Mustapha are both Jean-Claude Van Damme's childhood friends. They grew up together in Belgium. Also, I think Lionheart is an underrated gem from Jean-Claude Van Damme and I am glad you guys got to react to this movie.
I think this one doesn't get the respect it deserves, because to many people thought it had so many similar plot points/Plot Arc as "Bloodsport" & "Kickboxer".........
TEAM OCTOKROOL IS GOING AWOL with this underrated gem from Van Damme. Lionheart proved that Jean Claude Van Damme wasn't a one trick pony. He once again collaborated with Bloodsport, Director Sheldon Leitch in an action drama about underground "shootfighting." JCVD showed his range as an actor as Leon. Harrison Page, A pre Last of Us Ashley Johnson, Brian Thompson are some of the rising stars in this film. Also when Van Damme was criticized as a one trick pony and studios bet that at he wasn't going to amount to s*it. He quoted this movie as his answer "They made the wrong bet."
Little known fact: the black guy in the beginning, in the office, the one that put his knee to Van Damme's gut is Billy Blanks of Tae Bo fame. Also has several martial arts movies in his resumé. Also, the pool fight. That guy plays the lead bad guy in Only the Strong. You should check that out too
@@benjaminanderson52634:26 in the office. 5:07 he started what he couldn't finish. 5:23 even though he came back for more, he really died from that spin kick. The stick uppercut and the jump spin kick in slo mo was most likely CGI
Lionheart, Double Impact and Universal Soldier is PEAK Van Damme. He was in his bag for those 3 years. I love the reactions you guys have for these Films.
Jean Claude Van Damme I’m happy you’ve done this film 😉 great flick. You need to see Hard Target, Cyborg, Death Warrant, Universal Soldier and many more. Would definitely love to see Jackie Chans The Foreigner make this channel, you’d love it. Enjoy
The big guy acting as the villainess's number 2 is Brian Thompson, a character actor that often plays heavies and villains. He's got a long list of credits, but is most famous for his role as the Night Slasher in Stallone's 'Cobra' and Shao Khan in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. He's also Arnold's first victim in Terminator.
Those two guys who let him go are Balkan men. They might have been a bit harsh, but they were just doing their job. After all, a Balkan man knows how to value courage, honor, and family above all else!
The daughter is a young Ashley Johnson, voice actress for Ellie from The Last of Us and a core cast member of Critical Role and portrays Pike in their animated series Legend of Vox Machina.
@Octokrool was fun to see you fall in love with JVD, he made low budget action films (most of his films) but they were almost always full of heart, humor, and had some amazing action in them. I appreciate you all going down his rabbit hole of work and hope you and your patreons keep you watching his work. He did a film (maybe 5 to 10 years ago) about his real life documentary style with hsi drug use and his fans helping him thru many things, it really made me see this guy in a different light then most of his era.
YESSSSSSS!!!!! This is one of my all time favorite JCVD movies! More so because he doesnt really plan any characters like Leon... and with such a "simple" story too... so awesome
Van Damme has many good movies Nowhere to run, Timecop, Universal Soldier, Double impact, the quest, Legionaire, Desert heart, Cyborg, the Replicant, the one with Rob Sneider, the one with Denis Rodman, and few others Van Damme is goated no question
Alright my brothers!! You listened and im glad you did. You have now seen Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Lionheart and Timecop. Great video and reaction. I knew you would love it. Next is Sudden Death. I can't wait. I love you my brothers!!
Also known as A.W.O.L. JCVD's next film after Kickboxer, first major smash with an American studio (also co-writer) and 1 of 2 films in the same year. Me and my father saw this on opening day. We loved more than the fights. The story was compelling and grounded. The film's trailer presented a different story; that he was competing in a underground fight circuit that might've been connected to his brother's death and those in charge were the culprits. But even so, the movie turned out to be just as good in any event. Ashley Johnson (Nicole) makes her film debut after doing the ABC sitcom, Growing Pains. Michel Qissi (Tong Po in Kickboxer) is one of the foreign legion guys, Moustafa while his brother Abdel plays Lyon's final opponent, Attila. Also one of the legionnaires fighting Lyon in the beginning was Billy Blanks (early film career/pre-Tae Bo). The drama in Lionheart does tug the heart strings as is Lyon just wanted to fight for his family. JCVD has done his share of films that actually have decent drama and not just action. Other similar films are Nowhere to Run (1993), The Quest (1996) and Legionnaire (1998). Some argued about Van Damme not doing splits in Lionheart Just because the story was too serious to do so.
Random Trivia‼- Just found out the little girl who played Nicole (Ashley Suzanne Johnson), did the voice acting for Ellie in The Last of Us video game and also played Ellie's mum in the Series. 😄
Next, I recommend “Double Impact”, where Van Damme plays his own twin and features Bolo Yung as the villain, “Cobra”, with Sylvester Stallone, which features the guy who played Russell in Lionheart, as the antagonist and “Kickboxer”, Van Damme’s first film, which features Michel Qissi, the mutton chops guy Moustafa in Lionheart, as the bad guy.
This is my favorite Van Damme movie 😊 Someone once said that Van Damme has “sad French clown energy” and that description has always stayed with me, because I think that Van Damme’s strength, as an actor, is portraying sadness and world weariness; sure he’s got some charm and he can deliver a good one liner, but his best performances, in my opinion, are his sad roles: Lionheart, Time Cop, JCVD, and the one I hope you watch next: Universal Soldier
This one is my personal favorite of his tournament fighting movies. Love the classic street fighting style. Check out sudden death aka die hard in a hockey stadium and timecop those are his 2 best films.
JCVD was my childhood hero growing up but his real life friends are in all of his movies and in this movie the one taller agent chasing him throughout was the guy in Bloodsport who got his shin split open by Chong li.
Awesome you guys did this one, their is another van dam movie no one has done and it's awesome it's called the quest you guys should be the first and it's funny
Awesome reaction guys. This has been a fun watch for me growing up. Such an underrated movie. There’s another good one called The Quest. It’s a Blood Sport/Mortal Kombat vibe.
'Jawline Man' is Brian Thompson, best known for playing an alien bounty hunter in the original X-Files series, and Shao Khan in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
More Van Damme!!!! Timecop, The Quest, Hard target, Nowhere to run, Universal soldier, In hell, Cyborg, Sudden death etc. I would recommend the Quest first if you want something similar to Bloodsport. Kickboxer also.
double impact , hard target , universal soldier ,death warrent , maximum risk , nowhere to run , sudden death , all great also if you wane watch more van damme in the future
Moustafa (Michel Qissi) , had his leg broken by Chong Li in "Bloodsport" Moustafa's real brother is Attila (Abdel Qissi)....... Moustafa was also Tong Po in "Kickboxer"

I was looking for this comment. 🙌🏿
that kid grew up to be woke lunatic Ashley Johnson? Lmao what an anti-glowup...
Joshua stole this movie! What a great (if clichéd, honestly) character. My favorite JCVD flick, the most emotional.

The guy who played Joshua was such a good actor. I wish he got more work. He was the heart of the movie.
Fun Fact: Jaw-line dude was in first Terminator, he was one of three punks (2nd killed) by T-101
I remember him for being Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 2
@ yes, he was in that too. Mr Brian Thompson has been in so many movies
