It's an extraordinary car. I'm really glad that you are taking this on, the car is totally worth saving. IMO you should restore the top back to vinyl as it would really make the car stand out, and with modern adhesives, sealants, and waterproofing the top will outlast the car.
Keep pushing bro she's worth it. You may want to look into getting a shroud for those fans. That's a lot of radiator not getting airflow. Just something to think about if you haven't already.

Find a fan strout and put it back on the radiator And make sure those electric fans are blowing against the motor not the radiator And get your fluid checked and have that detect cable adjusted Okay If the fluids it is burn having unit rebuilt Transmission that is Okay I Good luck
Ok bet I’ll look into getting one. I may just get a new radiator with the fans attached. The one I have is pretty dirty. It’s in the transmission shop now I’m just waiting to hear the damage lol
Try putting a bigger cooling fan and for the the transmission try a 700r4 and try putting spacer between the intake and carburetor to keep the carburetor cooler and buy a bigger carburetor air filter to blow more air into the intake
Noy knocking your ride but gbodys look best on 22s and 24s .them stock 14s and 15s so small the car so big just don't look right not knocking anyone who likes rallys just gbodys look best on bigger rims especially when done right
Yeah true. They look funny on the small white walls. I do like the look of the rally wheels and the ride quality. I do plan on getting bigger wheels once the car is good to go
Yeah learning something new everyday! I could get a new motor and transmission put in now but it takes away from learning the car. I want to be able to pop the hood and be like yep just adjust the carburetor or yeah you need a water pump.
@@CarReviewsbyKJ always get parts matching the VIN from Napa. Aftermarket parts kill these kind of cars. Good thing I have mechanics in my family and a friend who worked at GM back then and worked on 9C1 Caprices and any other GM vehicle

Yeah they came a long way from the 1500-3000 dollar range. I think they consider them B-Body’s
You right they B bodies I think of all 80s GM cars as gbodys but that mainly all 2door rear wheel drive cars in the 80s

it might be the radiator or a fuse revise the fluid or cut it with 50 water 50 radiator fluid it will help.
It was low on fluid. I ended up getting it rebuilt
I swear I had the same issue on my bubble Chevy. When that happened, I sold it not to long after. I was done with that car.

Chevy’s transmissions are trash , ford motors are trash too . I work on those more than anything

I dropped it off at the transmission shop today. So hopefully it just needs to be serviced. If not I’m going full rebuild

It's always the 3-4 clutch pack on the early 700r-4 , the 200s never had that problem..
Don't knw if u fixed the problem yet. But your issue is that tv cable has way too much slack in it. Needs to be jus a bit firm

Its not the TV cable at that point its the 3/4 clutch pack its smoked and if its a 4l60e it doesn't have a TV cable

Change your Filter and fluid in transmission
