- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a beautiful American classic, a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Brougham, 305 ci 5.0 V8. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
they should still be making these big, box-style american cars... they are great!
...and will empty your wallet at the gas station
@@PragmaticDany thats it.......so by à 4 cylinder
And stay on the black!
@@PragmaticDany why can't they put a modern engine in it for better fuel economy, and try to lower the curb weight. Now we have a new car I would buy instantly!
@@user-mt5cm5xp2o I have mine fitted with a Lexus LS400 engine and 6 speed auto ,Gives 300BHP and 22/20 Mpg :D
@@asfandyarshahidkhan5185 Too bad they can't make what you have in a production line
One of the last of the true old school cars, before *everything* that looks like metal turned into plastic for the '93 model year.
أبداع من جنرال موتورز 👍🏽🥰
After the 1993 model, this car became a lot of plastic components?
Beautiful car, Kyle. They truly don't build them like this anymore, full sized, quiet comfort, smooth
V/8 power, simple, easily understood controls, and an ample sized trunk. You're not going to find that in today's SUV, CUV, EVO car world!
God these old Chevy's were tanks. What a beautiful ride.
The good ol' box shaped American sedans especially when General Motors is king of quality back in the day.
not really, europeans in the 80s were busy making cars that were very forward thinking while GM were busy making cars that fit the 50s-60s max.
BarTa5oT - برتخوت but necessarily a bad thing.
I'd take a mint condition Caprice Classic over ANY modern day vehicle.
%100
Your on my leavel that will be me to & i had a gray 1 just like that mint just like that 1. Boy i miss it, only difarece no leather cloth seats !
I would too. I was thinking eventually getting another Lincoln which I have a 2006 Town Car but I'm back to thinking if I should get a newer model Lincoln or get an older car such a Cadillac Brougham for an example. GM had great looking cars back then even Ford & Mercury as well.
I saw one at an auto show with an LS1 swap he got 30 mpg on normal driving and 350 ish HP for when he needed the power. Wish I had the $ to do what he did. Perfect sleeper :O
I made the same decision 8 months back over a Honda Civic and I don't regret
My Great Grandmother raised me. She had the SHARPEST pea green 1978 CAPRICE CLASSIC 2door coupe. She drove that car like it was an Escort. I miss that car. I truly miss my NANA. If there were more NANA'S in the world, this would truly be a better world. R.I.P. MARY RUTH ROBINSON. 💘 Love,Scotty
beautiful! I'm a Caprice fan. I am Brazilian and an admirer of American cars.
this thing is a rolling living room
when cars were real cars....
Couldn't agree with you more!
+Mustafa Joly People can't fucking drive no more. It sucks.
I agree. This thing is a car.
Indeed.
Real cars is right with non of that non sense as cars have today, more computerized than these beautiful cars as this Chevrolet.
My grandfather had a 78 Caprice Classic that is still running to this day and is used by my family. Aside from interior upgrades, looks like GM didn't want to mess up a good thing for over a decade, and I like that. :)
I've had this generation of caprice as a teen, it doesn't go away how much I want one again
Maaan..Look at that engine! Beautiful car! Makes me miss my 84 Caprice! I'll have another again some day.
Classic..She's a beauty...
Perfect A-1 condition Caprice! Nothing better than the sound of a small block OHV V8 being fired up! 👍
Buy it and drive it as is. Don't change a damn thing
This was a very preferred car in Middle East back in the day
ya i use to deive one
ya i use to deive one.
ya i use to deive one.
I Use to have one my dad gave it to me I have a 2014 Chrysler srt300 right now
still today it is....
I'd love to drive this beauty 😍
won't find ride quality like that nowadays
My grandparents had 1 of these, but it was blue with blue interior. They had it from 1989 until around 2003. It was big and comfortable!
The real men's car
not some prius shjt
real talk
Indeed.
White Crown - Lmao! I rather have any car besides a Prius!!
White Crown - I rather have any car besides a Prius!! Lmao!! 😂
LOVE these old American classics!👍
That car is almost exactly like the one my friend's parents had when we were little, minus the leather seats. same color scheme and everything. Brings back memories. Nice, big, comfortable car!
I like Ford's V8 engines but the 5:54 exhaust purring of this GM V8 is unique. I'd listen to this Caprice's rumbling V8 a whole day if I could!
I realize that this video is now 9 years old, but damn that car was clean!
I love this shifter on the steering wheel column in the American cars, they should've been included this feature in the news one!
amazing how good that generation of chevy small blocks sound even with the stock exhaust
I love the roar of the engine when it starts ..... ah those cars are the real deal .... extermely durable ... I wish I own a caprice
Never knew they made a Brougham edition of this car.
Lord Apophis yeah its like having a Cadillac instead of a taxi or cop car its a real luxury edition of the caprice trim
I had a blue one like this...
My family had 2 Caprices; a 1977, and a 1988. This really takes me back.
Beautiful car. My aunt had a ‘89 Brougham black with red pinstripes. Was a sweet car.
A true classic. Reliable as hell - if you take care of these babies...
Boulevardwheels yep my father has owned one for 20 Years but then it started to break down very often and air conditioning also stopped working very frequently so he ended up selling it 6 years ago.
Adorable car from a beautiful era!
Ah the sound of an American V8 starting up. Sounds exactly like my grandparent's '81 Le Sabre. Classic indeed!
I had a89' Blue just like this one and a 83 a two 78's when I grew up. Great Car!!
I would pay cash for it right now!!!
Great comprehensive vidoe, well done, love the car, but would have been better without the leather interior, prefer the cloth and velour seats
Very good looking car with lots of potential
I want that Cassette deck. Those types of Cassette decks from GM (the ones where the tape goes in head first) were awesome decks. We never had any problem with those ones
WOW just when I thought my car was nice DAMN you just can't beat a classic chevy in the style department love that 5.0 nice American muscle sound to it keep up the freshness Kyle!!!!!
Thank you for the trip down memory lane.My friends grandmother had the exact same car.As her health deteriorated she would only let me and her daughter drive her Caprice Broughman. The car was approximately 6 years old and it had if I remeber about 25,000 miles on it.It was like brand new.It was sold after her death in a farm auction. So sad wish I could have bought it.Thank you for posting.
jas4925 ik I'm a decade late but I'm sorry for your loss I'm sure she was a great woman one day you'll see her In heaven and you'll all be so happy and you'll have the old caprice to
The build quality is very good in this car. None of the door covers moved when the doors were got closed. It is a very nice car, but very rusty as well. Thanks for uploading!
I had a blue 1988 Brougham like this one. Love those box Chevys...
Engine is extremely healthy by all dat water comin out da exhaust. I'm impressed.
I worked on these cars when new and they are great cars!
IAM from Pakistan and I think it's the most beautiful car on Earth 😍🤩
man that radio brings back memories from my fathers cavalier.
My first car 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic LS Brougham all black with presidential tint and grey interior! I miss that car &&&&&& I LOVE CHEVROLET'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful Chevy!!
Someone obviously looked after this beauty. You don't see cars like that over here in Britain at all. This is a classy color and interior combination. Love these old American cars, even if they are abit agricultural engineering-wise and don't always corner well.
I love the older cars alot better than the newer cars.I also love the spedometer on this car.
wow nice timing breaking benjamin this car truly took my breath out of me it was my fathers car lot of Memories
My best friend used to drive this when he was here. He went back to Japan n now he is in heaven
I also love those big heavy old cars, but heavy doesn't mean safe, and those old cars are less safe than modern cars. Seat belts are extremely important to safety.
built wth pride in Arlington, Texas. and all that water out from the exhaust
Theres nothing like a big boxy Chevy Caprice
I like that’s car! Real american’s quality!
One things for sure your guys really know how to clean a car up nice, that engine compartment looked show room new. Nice job indeed!!
My 2nd car was a 1979 Impala.!0 years older, less plushness but the same engine and drivetrain as this one. Loved me a landboat, 8 mpg city, 14 hwy but it's only gas.
that caprice look clean😃👍
I reality like the Chevy Caprice form 1977-1990, 1991-1996, and the Chevy Caprice form 2006-2017. I also like the 1978-1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria and the 1992-1997 and 1998-2012 Ford Crown Victoria/ Mercury Grand Marquis/ Lincoln Town Car. I also have a soft spot for the 90s full size Cadillacs and the 90s Buick Roadmaster.
que carro lindo o acabamento das portas e dos bancos é primoroso dirigir um desse deve ser muito confortável uma pena a Chevrolet não ter comercializado esse carro no Brasil
I love the sound of the engine
frame on body, solid rear axle with rear wheel drive, V8, it's a real car!!! it's a shame they don't make them like this anymore
That paint job, oh my!
I'm glad you did this car because I was just looking at this car on some site a day before you posted this video.
I long for my old Caprices.
Nice vid Kyle. These are easily my most favorite cars.
Big classic Amercian Rear Wheel Drive car built in Texas. Nothing better.
That Grand Marquis is nice,I had one,it was one of my favorite cars the caprice is beautiful too
7:18 - Slow ride by Foghat, awesome!
+Matthew Rivera then after that, "Bottoms Up" by Trey Songz!
1980s/1990s LAST decades when cars were built right to last long time.
These were nice looking cars & I should've bought one when new, with this laundu roof as I've heard them called back then this model was the top of the line model which would be called Caprice Classic Brougham. These cars looked great in black as well.
Was my company car when i was a teenager, we had the sedan and the wagon. Wagon was my work car. After work I would go to my neighborhood and pick up my friends and head to the beach. wagon held 9 people if ya wanted. Driving that boat made me a better driver. All kids should have to wheel something around like that for their road tests.
one of my favorite vids Kyle, these are one of my favorite cars 85-89 caprices, and this one sounds and looks amazing
Que carro Lindo! Simplesmente Lindo!
Alan C. Miranda
great song at 7:20 love it should have been cruising to that one lol
So elegant, comfortable, and nice-sounding...
OMG I'd love to buy this car, it's simply beautiful!
I am usually a BMW fan but i really like/appreciate these cars. Some american cars are amazing in their own way (especially the 70-80s ones)
So beautiful
For some reason I like how the door lights are installed. Back than the ultimate grandparent mobile lol.
Beautiful car
Fantastic and reliable car 👍 👏 👌
dame that car is cool !!
DAMEEEE lol
I really miss those that was a working persons Cadillac on a tight budget with a penchant for the good life
This car is IMMACULATE!
Nice car. This is a real car!
This is the best car i ever had
Lol you buy this same date as my birthday
Much prefer the double square headlights from previous years. This car was everything about modern art of a front end.
I enjoyed it I miss those Caprices 😎😎
That is one hell of a nice Chevy Caprice!!!
@MrStelmer I think the technical term is cornering lamps. It was a common option on cars from the 80s and early 90s.
This car is beautiful
I've seen one like that in da same colour in Mexico (Tlaxcala), last Wednesday, I like them!, therefore I wanted to know more about it and I found this video!.
Sadly these cars get ruined by people who think chrome rims and green glittered paint look awesome
Dave S. aka african americans
Melvin Williams sorry, your right.
Melvin Williams but you cant tell me whites do that.
its good because when they try to sell it, the price gets alot lower
sim61642 white people do it Mexicans, blacks, hell Arabs do it, don't pull that race card shit Boi.
It was a great sedan for those years
One of my favs
