Newcastle’s summer was supposed to be different. A takeover headed by Amanda Staveley fell apart and, as has been typical of the current era, the off-season has ended up producing more questions than answers. But they still need to improve and fast; we run through their positions of concern.

More scouting has gone into this 6min video by tifo, than in Ashley's 14 years of ownership.
Sadly accurate
So true KD
Yep. :/ I’m a United fan but it pisses me off royally to see a HUGELY backed club like Newcastle tripping all over themselves. Christ.
I mean Ayoze Perez was a good signing
@@workingtitle7049 For sure but Newcastle are far too goddamn big to have A good signing and to hang on to their Prem status by a thread every year.
Most sensible transfer = Put Mike Ashley in the bin
conor keogh 😂
😂😂😂
Throw him there like they did with that ukranian politician
conor keogh good Idea but he probably won’t fit, get a skip truck instead
And Steve Bruce too
The worst part about this great video is that we're going to buy precisely none of these players.
well i doubt any of the board would ever watch tifo football videos even tho they are good videos, tifo and co might one day even become analysts for a certain football club
I think the only team i’ve seen buy a Tifo recommendation was Pepe to Arsenal
@@zeeafraud7898 saliba to arsenal too
We bought better
No one:
Alex: THEY SHOULD BUY 6 BUDESLIGA PLAYERS!
They can have a couple back.
actually the first one is from the Austrian Bundesliga
It makes sense because Bundesliga's financial standards are lower, but their quality of player is as good (in fact, I'd argue to say better)
No Eintracht Frankfurt players? Can someone check to see if Alex is okay?
I wondered if Serbian players would get a mention.
@@Messala91 nah, everyone learned from Mitro
No Sangare either
they finally listened
Messi: "I always wanted to play with someone called Jonjo"
"I always wanted to call Mike Ashley my sugar daddy"
"The Geordie accent..(looks up and smiles)"
"Have you ever had, what do they call it there, um chips and gravy..?"
"The one player other than Lingard that I look forward to playing with is Joelinton"
The stars are aligning.
Rutvik you win comment of the day.
Hahaha we'll have him in black and white soon enough lad 😂
lool
@@themagpie9able Ronaldo too, he just ended up on the wrong flight
After a great era of legendary Santiago Munez and Gavin Harris, Newcastle struggle in transfer window to find a good player since. Alvarado from Cruz Azul the Mexican could be the next Munez if the BoD Newcastle will follow this sensible transfer.
Amazing video once again! Shon Weissman is from WolfsbErg though. There’s no connection to VFL Wolfsburg besides the similar names.
I did wonder if he had joined the German side, as I was sure he was in Austria
Isn't Wolfsberg that team in Austria that always try to get me in on loan when I'm in a fifa player career?
True! Was also wondering
Leighton 09 thats them
they put Wolfsburg when its actually Wolfsberger AC which was being talked about
Which really affects the perspective on this lad, I nearly thought he banged 30 in the Bundesliga lol
@@cbr_n Well he did, just in the Austrian Bundesliga :D
Sensible Transfers? Let your best striker walk out (Rondon), buy a Bundesliga youngster for 40+mill. In the process alienate the best manager you’ve had since Sir Bobby.
Can’t get anymore sensible than that!
Honestly it's embarrassing that Benitez is rated so highly. He did nothing to deserve his plaudits other than speak about his quarrels with Ashley. He played defensive football you could expect from none other than Sam Allardyce and he guided you to three finishes well within the bottom half. Steve Bruce guided you to similar success. Don't dare disrespect Sir Bobby's name by comparing him to a Spanish fraud living off one success, whose exotic name seems to have charmed you all into loving him via the excessive praise of Alan Shearer. Alan Pardew did better than that twerp.
Ben Sanderson I said since Sir Bobby clearly implying Bobby was better. As for Benitez defensive football, you have to play the football that’s most likely to get results with a weak team. The “quarrels” with Ashley show he was passionate about the club and fans and not just another yes man for the fat tyrant to order around.
LOL there is no way Ashley is shelling out for Edouard
Not going to leave this season anyway. Agent just came out with a statement
Mike Ashley has been selling so long, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in my spam with the Nigerian prince one of these days
hahahhahaha
Gunter is indeed a great fit for the Newcastle LB/LWB position and squad (adjustment-wise too), and Benes might be also, coming both from a (relatively lower risk) European demanding league with proven experience and skillset.
I think an attacker like Weismann (affordable and potential future value) and a few more player options with pace, work rate, creativity and selfishness on their game is what lacks from their team atm, especially if they want to stick on the current counter-attacking style of game and achieve good chemistry.
Shon Weismann is Wolfsberger AC Striker not Wolfsburg FC
Embarrassing mistake
Actually if you watch the video back he specifically says ‘Wolfsberger AC’.
I think it was a mistake from the illustrator, who probably misheard or is simply not aware of the Austrian club's existence, because the narrator does say the correct name.
Shocking mistake illustrator. Does make sense tho, cos if he scored 30 in Bundesliga teams better than Newcastle would want him 😂
@@hashisgod yeah, and Lewandowski probably not happy about it
Make one for real Betis, with new manager and board they can get back to something good.
They should make one for valencia. They are in a worse situation than barcelona.
@@randomdude2368 yeah selling Parejo to Villarreal for free was big yikes.
@@VamshiOhgs did you hear what the owner's daughter said. This is our club and we can do whatever we want with it.
@@randomdude2368 moments like this should make them realise that the club isn't just theirs, the fans deserve some belonging too.
Hope they get better and don't go shit like Newcastle with someone like Mike Ashley.
@@VamshiOhgs they qualified for ucl two seasons in row and beat barca to copa del rey and then they sack marcelinho. Utter madness
"caught between aspiration and execution". Lovely subtle swipe at potential Saudi owners 🙃
I thought for a moment that Tifo was recommending the signing of the Welsh Chris Gunter.
Imagine this video if the takeover happened,
Need a striker? Lewandowski
Midfielder? De Jong or Thiago
@@dermottobin9 As a toon fan, if Ashley bought all these, I think my respect for him would improve. Thats like my opinion, man.
@DEMONIC MACHINE hey watch out, we have Atsu 😆
Glad they’re reviewing more Mexican players, there’s a few gems theres
Which Players besides macias alvarado rodriguez and fernandes?
Quirin Sterr not many at all
Ice wallow huh?
Quirin Sterr what?
Might as well just play a grey screen for 6mins. So weird to hear the word ‘aspiration’ in conjunction with NUFC. For a start, half of the scouts are furloughed.
Steve Bruce should go to prison for playing a 541 formation on live television.
True 😂😂😂
Dubravka would be an interesting player to see a video on. Went from being dropped from Esbjerg's team after the Christmas break of the 15/16 season (with Jeppe Højbjerg taking the spot) to being a starter in a Premier League club only two years later.
What went wrong for jovic, lozano, joelington, joao felix and griezmann ?
I believe the high transfer fees put too much pressure on the players. Didn't allow them enough time to settle in
I'm not the expert, but still believe a little bit that these transfers would be sensible -
1. Striker - En Nesyri from Sevilla
2. Attacking midfielder - Nkunku or Daichi Kamada or Soler or Oyarzabal
3. Left-wing back - Angelino
4. Centre-back - Pau Torres or Lacroix or Kounde
I don't know how Steve Bruce is going to do this with £3.50
Can't even get a kebab and cheesy chips for that
Ahahahahha 😂😂
Aye shout out all my Mexicans! 🇲🇽
Technically, the addressed the forward with acquisition of Wilson, midfield with Hendrick, and left back with Lewis. Spot on!
Finally someone that recognises how Newcastle is lacking in the number 8 or number 10 role!
A 4-2-3-1 actually fits our system pretty well if we can get a proper goalscorer in at #9.
Dubravka
Maquillo, Lejeune, Schar, Yedlin
Shelvey, Hayden
ASM, Almirón, Joelinton
Someone who can score goals
I can't stand Newcastle under Ashley anymore. It's the most underwhelming visionless soulless experience possible for a football fan. There is absolutely no appeal at all left.
*R.I.P Newcastle Takeover 2020-2020*
Every video is better than the previous one. Great job!
PLEASE DO WHAT IF MESSI AND RONALDO PLAYED IN THE SAME TEAM!! love ur work
Almiron is going to score 10+ goals this season, mark my words
Hes not good at scoring goals though. He might get 10+ assists but hes not going to score much in the EPL
Well he scored 8 in all comps last season, so it won't be a huge surprise. But I hope u r right
Another brilliant video. Unless we can get any of these players on loan I don't think I'll be seeing them in the toon anytime soon.
Interesting addition of Alvarado... But TBH i think his teammate Orbelin Pineda would be a better fit for that particular position. He can do what Alvarado does, but primarly he fits better that #8 role. Downside is that Pineda is already 24 yo.
Do a video on Failed Wonderkids!
Im flattered you thought of Alvarado but as a fan of the liga Mx he isn’t up to the task, he can disappear most games and only shows glimpse of talent
As a Rangers fan I’d be very happy if Edouard went to Newcastle, without Edouard, Celtic aren’t very strong and would help us win the league (as we are already favourites in my eyes) and knowing Celtic that’s one of those transfers they’d just accept and wouldn’t supply extra depth to that position
I hope we just sign Jetro tbh
Club: We need a LB
Tifo: Anthony Caci
I’m of the mind that Newcastle have some really good versatile creative players in Almiron, Joelinton, and Saint-Maxim that could work in several systems. I think their goal should just be to get the best goal scorer they can get their hands on and adapt to their game.
Danny Ings would be huge, and I think he could fit into Bruce’s style.
Danny ings is expensive and Southampton won’t wanna let him go
I really love this series
ST
1. Josef Martinez - Atlanta United
2. Josh Maja - Bordeaux
3. Luka Jovic - Real Madrid
AM
1. James Rodriguez - Real Madrid
2. Martin Odegaard - Real Madrid
3. Juan Mata - Man Utd
LWB
1. Sead Kolasinac - Arsenal
2. Jetro Willems - Frankfurt
3. Rico Henry - Brentford
Since when is real madird players sensible?
I think Hayden should start in the 4231 alongside shelvey, with ASM & Almiron on the wings cutting in and Edouard playing in front of a Joelington in a 11 kai Havertz/ mertens Role. Gunter as the left back or rogerio from sassuolo and lascelles and schar as the starting but rotating CBs with lejuene and Fernandez, etc. Ig krafth and yedlin will have to do manquillo is better on the right than left imo.
Günther just became captain of Freiburg
As a los Che’s fan it would be nice to see one for Valencia as we plummeted a little this year
Barcelona and Valencia board are battling for being known as more clown...
Shon Weissman is a Wolfsberger AC player, from Austria, not Wolfsburg, which is from Germany.
2.20 looks like he's practicing his water slide technique
Don't understand how the manager can't have the final say on players.
Because he's the head coach, not the manager.
Please do one for Villa 🙏🏻
Tifo I said about weissman on my old account will be interesting to see the difference will be coming from a top team in a high scoring league 3/4 per game to a lower to mid table team and a less attacking league 2/3 per game
God. I need me some of those Jonjo Shelvey tattoos!
I like the suggestions, but anything that cost more than a free transfer and the incoming players prepared to accept peanuts plus "stadium atmosphere" as salary won't be considered by Mike Ashley.
No mention of Jetro Willems for the left back position? If I remember correctly they had an option to buy in his loan. Plus he was doing well before he got injured. Benes is always one of my favorite FM signings lol.
He’s returned to Eintracht
@@Tifo Thank you so they didn't use the option to buy. Do you think they should have?
I’d be very worried about the Achilles injury but I guess he’s an option.
@@Tifo Thank you for answering. Much appreciated and keep up the great work.
We switched from a back three around January
Nice videos!! Can I ask what software are you using to make this cartoon look? Pleaseeee
Will be interesting to see how they do Chelsea. Seeing as they have basically already got everyone they need or soon will
As a Newcastle fan, I'm not sure a move to Newcastle qualifies as moving to a bigger club compared to Wolfsburg these days. :( Seems like a good option though. Shame it won't happen and we'll spend any money we _do_ have on a player we'll then play out of position and who has never played our style of football.
Edit: Ah, I've just realised Weismann is playing for WolfsBERGer in Austria, not Wolfsburg in Germany. Probably would constitute a step up, in that case.
Love this series
Please do one for Bayern Munich. I'm really eager and interested to see who you think we need.
I don't think Bayern needs anyone rn if thiago leaves I think kimmich will play on CDM and pavard will play as a rb
A centre back
A backup striker(Future lewandoski replacement?
A attacking midfielder(Future muller replacement)
>we
@@bishrutthapa5175 there's Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Süle and David Alaba, surely there's a youngster they can add to rotate in and pick up experience at CB.
There's Zirkzee for the Lewandowski remplacement.
Maybe in a year or two they can get Coutinho on a free for Muller xD
@@sofixa11 Hernandes is not a pure cb
David alaba could leave for free in 2021.
And bayern have a terrible backup striker
Would you guys consider making a video update of this series of Man City? With the possibility of bringing Messi to the squad, I think it deserves it.
i thought they were doing videos for "big clubs" 😂😂😂
this should be a podcast
Newcastle already have their best transfer of the season if they keep ASM.
Technically not a transfer tho is it
@@finlaybishop5974 Well, we kept Matty Longstaff and that's gonna be counted, so...
K J N well, no. His contract ran out, ASM is still under contract, so...
@@finlaybishop5974 No, of course, it was just a bad joke. Noticed it didn't really make sense the moment I sent it...
K J N haha all good
We need a right-back as well, we are extremely weak there.
Do a January 2022 version
Ronaldo, Messi, Hallaand, Mbappé and neymar
I'm guessing since they spent 40 million on Joelinton, Newcastle will be hoping for bounce back and more than 2 goals rather then getting a striker. They also just got jeff Hendrick which on paper at least, is a decent enough signing
Knowing Ashley yeah he won't buy another striker until Joelinton prove & justify his price then sell him for profit when he's doing good. Ashley been interested on him year before, Rafa said no we need experienced premier league striker like Rondon... Ashley won't listen & went for Joelinton once Rafa gone. Hendrick is a good signing but I won't be surprised if we only got loan players after him.
Cavani, Sangare and Philipp Max. Job Done for NCU.
Yes because cavani ain’t have high wages
Shocking stuff from that one defender in your Edouard animation. Where's he going? Total liability
What about PAOK left-back Giannoulis? Newcastle are interested in him.
I think there are good odds for this transfer case (rumors in Greece is that PAOK is intresting of selling at this window), tho Gunter imo would be a far safer and quicker-to-fit addition (less risk for adjusting, considering the jump between leagues in terms of quality ;) )
Giannoulis is really impressive and has huge potential. I think attacking-wise he might be one click better than his competitor in national team Tsimikas, also very smart in positioning and covering. But his physicality might need improvement in terms of defending on a more demanding league on that part.
Would also help his development to go to a club that plays with wingbacks, as he would more easier perform well. Serie A would be also a more logical/wise step for his further development, where he can perfect his tactical approach and gain crucial experience in a top league, before heading to PL.
I like Tifo, I really do, and I watch pretty much every video, but the inaccuracies tend to diminish some otherwise good work. Wolfsberger AC, not Wolfsburg, is one.
wont be a back 3/5 back after lockdown we played 4 at the back and gained form
Ahhh Odsonne Edouard :D If he can even be half as good as he is on Football Manager he would be an awesome signing. I buy him and Breel Embolo for my Boro team and they both bang in 30 a season each.
You should do Brighton with so many of their bigger players leaving this window they might have a large budget
Nobody left
yeah they turned out to have a shocking window
I’m really looking forward to other clubs like Tottenham and Napoli
Please do Manchester city
For LWB, don't they have Jetro Willems? I don't know if he's still injured or even if he's owned by Newcastle (though I thought his loan was made permanent last year), but before his injury he did really well for them.
There was an option to make the loan permanent but it hasn’t been done probably because of his injury
He’s gone back
Oh, that's a shame then. Especially for him, as it seemed like he finally found a club that suited him.
@@thomasvrielink299 honestly we might still get him back, Frankfurt don't want him and he loves Newcastle but I think signing a player with a long term injury is a bit of a risk so we will see what happens
Tifo Football can you do Brighton realistic transfers?
It would be sensible for nufc to get a move on with he jan 2021 transfer window. Firstly change the manager.
Hooray! Mild encouragement!
Can't wait for the Villa one
My Newcastle shirt about to become my favorite shirt at the bar. Hid it for 15 years, cos my Man City shirt gradually became more relevant. 😁
These videos are normally very good, but I feel who ever made this does not know or understand Newcastle.
Bruce started using a 3 at the back because it was the system Rafa used. Bruce is shifting towards a 4-2-3-1 especially in reccently, except against far stronger opposition.
Odsonne Edouard would be well out of Newcastle's budget. Batshuayi on loan would be more realistic.
A lot of the transfers mention would cost Newcastle in excess of £20m which is not within their budget.
You also didnt mention Dummett when Newcastle's left backs.
Any videos about Pirlo/Juve coming in the near future?
Sorry *Piemonte Calcio
We literally won't sign anyone like these players. Ashley won't pay the money
I wouldn't be surprised if Weissman signed. He's available for under ten mil
@@jockmackay9582 The question is, is he available on a free? To quote 442oons' Ashley: 'We can't afford free transfers!'
Do one about Man City
They'll likely only sign free transfers/loans. English players want to play PL football every week this season for the Euros. With that in mind, Abraham on loan for a season would be a great option for them as Lampard seems to prefer Giroud and Werner is going to start up front, he's miles better than Abraham. Alternatively, Callum Wilson may get a loan move. Bournemouth will know if he has a good season in the PL and is talked up for a place in the England squad, they'll be able to maximise his sell-on value next summer. With respect to LB, Willems would be the obvious choice if he's available. But I really doubt NUFC will be paying more than €5m for any one player while Ashley is still there. So maybe another loan spell for him. Possibly RLC on loan if Chelsea sign Havertz. He could be great alongside Hayden (totally deserves a shout for the national team) and/or Shelvey sitting in behind.
Expect ASM to move on to greener pastures towards the end of the window. Joelinton will be played out wide if they can loan a striker.
Do a Bvb one next please!
I recon you should do one on West Ham.
Do an Everton video next!
could you do Napoli sensible transfers?
Literally zero chance we'll get any of these players. We'll probably only get a few loanees and hold out until January where the board will loan in some more
El Piojo Alvarado😍
Surely Ollie Watkins would be the best choice up front? Does everything
Maybe a bit too expensive
@@cummerchant542 That's a pretty amazing thing for a Brentford fan to hear about one of our players :) He'd be much better value than Joe Linton, though, and you'd probably make a profit on him once he steps up again. Saying that, he might skip a step and go straight to Arsenal...
Can you do Sheffield United?
It's Wolfsberger AC from Austria not Wolfsburg from Germany LMAO
Speaking of takeovers, how about covering the latest takeover bid by this Singaporean company, Bellagraph Nova, and their little scandals?
