The best football based vlog I've watched. Extremely thoughtful and well made. Thank you for this and hopefully there is progress on defibrillators and CPR training where it's needed most.
Thank you very much Stephen, it really does mean a lot. It’s certainly been an eye opener today. We had a defibrillator installed at my local park, it was community funded through fundraisers, it’s a working class town but everyone mucked in, within 2 days it was broken into and destroyed by youngsters. We have to get education programmes in schools to not just teach young people what they need to do but just how vital it is for our safety. For this to happen so soon after it just made me feel a strange feeling today, but I also felt really proud of the supporters who helped and the sheer compassion that has saved this woman’s life. It makes me feel a lot safer, when I travel to games on my own. Thank you again for your kind words.

Great message Stuntpegg, 2nd time this season I've witnessed this I was at Luton Town vs Coventry City and the game also stopped to save the life of a Coventry fan who needed life saving treatment in the away stand just a few weeks back. CPR so important. Learn it people. I have 2 years ago, was not hard to learn but hopefully one day it could save someone.
Did themselves proud. The Justin Edinburgh Foundation sets such a wonderful example and is exactly why I’ve become so passionate about defibrillators and eduction on using them, in sports clubs and in grassroots football, and parks, and schools, and so on. We have to keep doing more in this country.
You’re right, thankfully every stadium in the football leagues have defibrillators thankfully, and so I do believe we are best equipped to deal with these crisis situations at the football, and with more and more donations to grassroots that’s great. I now think training and donating defibrillators to local parks, sports clubs etc is essential to get that 1 in 10 survival rate where it should be. Follow by Denmark’s example.
I completely agree with you with what you're saying about the defibrillators and I believe that everyone needs to be taught how to use one. Its crucial as a couple hours training could save someones life
As an NUFC fan who was at St James’ your assessment of us as a club/fans is spot on. Re the incident, being at the other end of the ground it was hard to see/know what was happening other than there being a medical emergency. I was getting calls and texts asking what’s happening, I had no idea, probably people at home had more idea. There definitely needs to be more defibrillators around at all levels. The defibrillator came from the NUFC club doctor. We’d probably benefit from having a few defibrillator stations in the stands, and there’s definitely an issue about them at lower and non league clubs too.
I wish the supporter all the best. And from a spurs fan wish Newcastle all the best for the rest of the season, they will be ok. I have family who support Newcastle, we are all gutted for them. They will not go down❤️❤️💙💙
One thing is for sure Steve Bruce needs to go. Cant wait to see who gets signed to newcastle in the coming transfer windows. The supporter who suffered a cardiac arrest is now stable. Respect to Regi and Dier for getting the refs attention and to all the newcastle supporters who helped get the medics there to help. Hi Neive welcome to the home of Newcastle United. CPR was given to the Newcastle fan and was taken to hospital. Let's hope the Newcastle fan is better and I feel for that fans family at present.
Beautiful video. The emotion during that crowd incident and the aftermath got me all emotional too. The footballing side of the video was incredible as always
As an FYI for anyone who wasn’t aware on the topic of what happened with the fan after the end of October it’s now going to be a requirement for all SIA licence holders (security personnel) to have Emergency first aid training which includes CPR. Now obviously the Defibs should be in every ground the fact that it isn’t in every ground is genuinely shocking to me. But now with all security staff having to be trained in CPR it can hopefully help to keep people alive & as well as can be until proper medical attention can be given to them.
You made a valid point there. At St James, for example, there are around 53,000 supporters. It's quite likely, on occasion, that someone may fall ill. A lot of emphasis is put on the players, but more needs to be done to ensure the safety of everyone. Well done to the players for quickly reacting to this and for the both club physios to get involved. The question is, what would have happened if those players didn't stop? Worrying.
Excellent work Nieve. I'm considering doing a 1st aid training course because you never know when something like this can happen to a loved one or someone in your vicinity. It's invaluable to know what to do in situations like that.
I was exactly the same. I did the ‘Introduction to First Aid in Football’ course which you can find online, it’s provided by the FA. You can then also do the level 2 that looks at emergency first aid in football. It’s really helpful, and done in a very easy format. Thank you very much by the way.
Love your passion. I sit in the opposite corner (strawberry corner or "The Corner") and I'm into my 35th season as a season ticket holder - been going since I was 5. You hit the nail on the head with our expectations - we just want our team to compete and give it a go and see where we end up - we want nights in Milan again where we take 12,000 fans - we just want to dream and we have that chance again. @@stuntpeggnieve potter is probably not going to leave Brighton the way things are going for them at the moment but as a spurs fan I’m just happy that we are scoring goals again because it’s been a inconsistent start and hopefully this is the real turning point for our season

However I should realise by now that football operates on a different level of passion which means that guy has to be removed for his own safety to stop his head being kicked in!
