Your video has helped me with doing my roleplay also. Thank you for posting it. I think you did amazing lol. I’ll be happy if I do as good as you have :)
This interview was well done. You asked very good questions. Joining and connecting, confidentiality, empathy, paraphrasing and active listening all on point.
Hi Janel, nice to meet you, are you finished with your studies ? I’ve just finished my bachelor’s degree in Social work. I really hope to connect with like minded Social Workers in the future.
@@bizarte24_ treating a human being like data will never get a social worker anywhere, no wonder social work in the north have ineffective interventions
@@bizarte24_ if you think this way and teach social work students that it’s none of their business then how and why should clients trust their social worker….building a relationship with the client can be done without impinging on their personal boundaries but of course if you don’t have this training and experience then you wouldn’t know what I’m talking…I feel sorry for the clients you serve and the students you teach or your model of social work practice
Totally agree, without taking the time to build rapport and do this genuinely not because you have, things like needs or risk assessment will have gaps so interventions and action plans will also be flawed and the client will be a constant and dependent service user
Honestly speaking I felt a disconnection in the relationship. It seems rushed and detached. More empathy should have been shown. But in all the interviewer stayed professional, she took her notes which is essential for after the interview.
Shocked at how many people thought this was a good interview. Social Worker wasn't even listening to things she was being told, kept asking the same things over again. Can't connect with clients when they know you aren't listening to them.
You did a great job with informed consent, confidentiality, empathy, active listening, warmth, and engagement.

Where is the building of relationships first? Getting to know the client first is essential before even bringing in social work processes
she did the entire process of relationship building through asking about the client's life.
That would be called getting into their business and too nosy
Data isn't a relationship.

Missing warmup and building client rapport which is very important.
