- This video would give you a complete procedure of how you can easily change your #Lenovo #Yoga 700's keyboard unit.
Basically, in the market, most of the slip laptop/notebook PC's #keyboard replacement come with the actual PALMREST TOUCHPAD KEYBOARD unit. Which is easy to replace but it all the time expensive rather than the actual keyboard unit itself.
My target and aim always minimize the repair expense in the event of repair gadgets...
so in the video which procedure I have applied definitely it would show you the way to fix your Lenovo #Yoga_700's keyboard.
There is one principle that you should keep in mind that is nothing else rather than your patience !!!
Note: please please do not take rush while you desolder the metal keyboard backplate !!
warning: very very careful while you use the soldering gun to remove the plastic rebits!!

I fixed my 710 after watching this video, very similar operation. Only the new after market keyboard was lower so I put few double tapes under the metal plate to raise the new keyboard.
Also after market keyboard doesn't have backlight, I left the backlight socket empty, it works without any problem.
What about for the Lenovo Yoga 720-15ikb keyboard, the frame as far as I know is metal, would the keyboard still have plastic rivets or the internal frame be plastic or does it not use plastic rivets completely?
Edit: The 'metal' frame is actually a thin sheet of metal that covers over a plastic chassis, and the plastic rivets are still present, I did this repair and replaced the melted rivets using some black ABS plastic filament used for 3d printing and melted that in place of the rivets, it holds fine but I didn't apply enough pressure on a small part of the keyboard which now has a little droop which also hinders the blacklight, but at least the keyboard now works.

Hello! I have a lenovo yoga 720 and my flex cover / hinge cover is more sunken and the screen protrudes. Do you know if I can solve it by taking it to a technician and leave it as good as new?
My laptop was not turning on and also my adapter was blinking then
I tried mentioned methods in lenovo forums
I removed battery, removed Cmos connector, then held power button for one minute and then without connecting battery provided a direct power to laptop, it blinked for
But it blinked for a second and then went dead. Then on youtube a guy showed a step "to remove keyboard connector flex and then turning it on by novo switch and it worked. So now keyboard is dead but laptop is working. Is there any way to solve the issue

it's hard to keep the plastic rivets in it's state after detach the old keyboard
that's make remplacement very hard and risky 😢
you are absolutely right. FOr me, i don't worry about to keep the plastic rivets as its not that important. Because when you put the motherboard on pleasing and screw it correctly then it should be fine. But do not any rivets dents or smashed head otherwise it would give you trouble later to put the keyboard in right alignment.

Thanks for the video! I'm trying to fix my 730-13IKB this way. But I'm struggling to find cheap portuguese keyboards for the 730. However, I found a couple for the 720 and 920 - do you know if they are compatible with the 730? Or how can I check that? Lenovo spare part codes won't help because they all include the palm rest. Palm rest apart, the 720, 730 and 920 "look" pretty much the same.

Plastic revet is poor engineering of lenovo , the yoga series is pathetic engineering. What can you expect of a Chinese product ?
