I',m absolutely in love with FORD...and I'm not american... Some say "Hmmm...it's like a Range Rover"...Well the New Explorer came first than the Evoque... and Ford, like Klitschko777 said, arrived a bit earlier than anyone else...
the sound system was better compared to the regular edition of the celebrity, sure it had the stickers and the trim look but it had more power under the hood and it was an all around better looking car. The other one i had was a 99' ford explorer sport, this is not the first time ford has done the explorer sport. Mine was a 2 door 4x4 in black with spare on the boot. The truck looked so much better then the regular explorer and it was two door instead of the reg which only came in 4 door.
Ford owned Land Rover and Aston and it's becoming very apparent that they gained all of their current design philosophy from those companies. Almost all new Fords have an Aston Martin-esque grille and and the 2015 Mustang concept is full on DB9 in my opinion. I bet the next iteration of the F150 will somehow incorporate these new styles as well.
yes i am aware LR was owned by Ford for like eight years. interesting about the Aston Martin similarities now that you pointed it out. never thought about that. thanks. no wonder why it looks so familiar.
Hi. Thanks for posting this video. Mind if I ask for your professional opinion? I am based from the Philippines and I own a 3-week old 2014 Ford Explorer (which I bought brand new). Current mileage is 539miles. I noticed that in some occasions (not constant), when I rev up to 3.5rpm, I smell something like exhaust fumes coming from the AC vents. At first I though that the vents are open and fresh air are going in but the air recirculation switch is turned on. I tried searching for this on the net and I found several similar complaints posted. According to those complaining, Ford did not address the problem. Do you know the cause of this and if indeed Ford have a fix for this? All the posted complaints I saw were dated Mar-Sept 2013. None that I saw dating 2014. thanks in advance and I really hope to hear from you.
I like this channel, glad I finally found it, I like the host, he is by himself and just states very good opinions... plus, I'm not going to lie, He's also pretty handsome
Hello. another question please if you don't mind. Can you comment on the safety features of the ford explorer especially when traveling at high speed at a highway? Have you ever come across an accident or crash caused by the vehicles road traction, control and safety performance? Im asking because I read some articles also on the net where some complaints were raised about the safety of this vehicle during high speed driving. And all of these complaints are addressed to the 2014 model (I have the 2014 model - not sure if this model was just a "repackaged" model of the 2013). Perhaps the other question I should raise is are these complaints legitimate? Meaning were these not paid by Ford's competitor to ruin the credibility of this vehicle? Again, thanks in advanced. cheers!
To answer your question about accidents/saftey, My wife and I were in a head on collision on the highway in our 2012 explorer and walked away from it. We hit at approx 90kph. The people in the honda crv that hit us, well, the guy who was driving is paralyzed from the waist down and his wife is still critical in an induced coma. This was almost a month ago.
Oh... so sorry to hear that. I guess we just have to be extra careful... though some folks may not be as careful as us. Glad to know that at least everyone is alive.
The Explorer Sport(365hp) has more horsepower than the base Cayenne (300hp) so it competes more with the Cayenne S(400hp). To get roughly the same amount options on the Cayenne S puts you well into the $85,000 range. To be honest Ill take the Explorer any day over the Cayenne. It's just as much fun to drive and cheaper to maintain. I honestly don't care what Porsche says there is no justification for charging $85,000 for an SUV other than some people are stupid enough to pay it.
Im a huge ford fan, but i must say im dissappointed about the 3.5 being the most powerful engine offered. They need to slap a V8 under the hood, &give it an air/adjustable suspension to compete with grand cherokee,
I hate to tell someone they are wrong or their point on a video is wrong, and it usually leads to some big argument, but this is something that has to be said. He said in the beginning that the word sport usually comes with just stickers and exterior junk but that is not true. I had both of these growing up the 89 Chevrolet Celebrity eurosport which was a rare vehicle that had amazing power of the reg one and better paint, the interior was red opposed to the grey in the regular and
wow ford taking another bite of the Range Rover cake. it makes sense since Holland used to be Land Rover's chief design engineer. heck look at Audi and Kia. a design engineer leaves one for the other and you see the similarities in designs carry over.
Everyone keeps griping about this looking like a Range Rover, fact is a few years ago Land Rover, Aston Martin, and Jaguar all were owned by Ford. So resemblance or badge reengineer ing?
I started to think about what vehicle I could compare this Ford to, then I was shocked to find I came up with the V6 Cayenne. The Ford is faster, more powerful, less expensive, and probably better equipped on the inside.
Well most people would pick the Explorer, but fact is also most people would pick the cayenne over the ford... For example what would you be rather seen in a Ford or a Porsche..?
You have a point with the luggage racks, but the explorer definitely did start the move away from wagons and towards SUVs by the mainstream car buyer. Also, no need to call him a dumbass, especially when you dont have your facts straight in the first place.
I must say tat Ford big vehicles designs are superb..macho...way better than old school toyotas..4 instance look at the Ford raptor...mod friendly too..
These are only 2 examples of when adding sport does something to the car/truck/suv/van but it proves that this guy didnt really do his homework , there is many vehicles out there with the word sport on the vehicle that actually does something to the vehicle. It should also be noted that the 4x4 system failed in the snow and caused my vehicle to spin 180 facing a wall of traffic on the highway, honestly stay away from fords as they are proving to have some very dangerous problems!
$ 47,000 is alot? what?.... Americans are so weird... in Europe it would cost $ 80,000... Well the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is ofc faster, better, but this looks good, would buy it probably as a second suv, after the jeep ofc.
I wouldn't want a rectangular shaped vehicle with no style, that can easily be optioned up to cost over $50,000, with shitty as myfordtouch. I'll keep my RT
The funny thing is that this came out before the range rover, which people mean. the range rover even got heat from critics for being an overpriced tarted up ford explorer.
Great, talks well and knows nothing. The start of the SUV would be either 1935 Suburbans or one of the 1950s vehicles. Long long before Ford turned up. A strut tower brace is not an engine brace. Yes, but that is a Porsche and this is a Ford, so that will be working 20 years after this is scrap. The Ford Sync system is horrible and difficult to replace. I do like that engine though.
Nope Ford rip off all the designs from the companies they once owned and use them. Unfortunately in the Range Rover case they used it on the Explorer before they had a chance to. Don't believe me, even the terrain management system on the this vehicle is a copy of LR. SMH
Dodges are junk, we have mess of them at work (govt. vehicles) and out of all the cars/trucks we have they break down the most and have the worst paint quality.
just got one....lease back....Awesome ride.....off road, go slow not much clearance...getting there.fun!
I',m absolutely in love with FORD...and I'm not american...
Some say "Hmmm...it's like a Range Rover"...Well the New Explorer came first than the Evoque... and Ford, like Klitschko777 said, arrived a bit earlier than anyone else...
I was wondering the same thing. this car is amazing, in fact, i just bought one :) but have to wait a few days for it to come in.
why is everyone giving a bad feedback ... the car looks good and everyone's been buying it lately ... what's wrong with it?
the sound system was better compared to the regular edition of the celebrity, sure it had the stickers and the trim look but it had more power under the hood and it was an all around better looking car. Can you guys do a 0-60 vid for the Explorer sport, if you ever get your hands on one again. Some magazines were getting low 5 seconds.

+pinoyband1 Seems like you may have accidentally received a model with the "suicide package".

I hope you’ve gotten your fume issue fixed by now, but FYI I think there’s a recall or TSB for that in the US.
I like this channel, glad I finally found it, I like the host, he is by himself and just states very good opinions... plus, I'm not going to lie, He's also pretty handsome
i have the first sport explorer in california, im happy with it
Also, Land Rover actually use the Terrain management from the Explorer, not the other way around like most people think.

Ford is awesome! They make some siick cars and trucks!
I so love this car amazing love it
Best midsize suv/crossover in the market.
name on the hood? that is so LR.
is it me or does it look like a undercover police version of the explorer?
better looking than even the RRovers..
Ford used to own Range Rover until 2008 where Range Rover was sold to some Indian company TATA motors...
0-60 mph time?
Better then the Jeep V6 ?
1:18
since when did a roof rack become a roll bar??
Probobaly misspoke
Well idk bout the government vehicles, but we've almost never had problems, and the paint is perfect. But thats because we take care of it.

This ride is the shit! Get it tuned with Livernois patented tuner device and you will unleash the beast. Worth the money for what you pay for.

It was released before the evoque
wow ford taking another bite of the Range Rover cake. it makes sense since Holland used to be Land Rover's chief design engineer.
heck look at Audi and Kia. a design engineer leaves one for the other and you see the similarities in designs carry over.
They did own them
ya cuz back in the 70's the Explorer was a high ridding F250 with chrome trim
RANGE ROVER and the EXPLORER look alike because they have the same designer
So this is the vehicle that influenced the look of the new Rover
Everyone keeps griping about this looking like a Range Rover, fact is a few years ago Land Rover, Aston Martin, and Jaguar all were owned by Ford. So resemblance or badge reengineer ing?

@klitschko777 copying the Evoque?
I like this guy
its faster than thepolice version i have a cop friend who was driving one, i pulled up next to him in my sport, totally beat him to 60
Isn't it LR also copied their tail light?
its looks nice.
nice but ill remove the explorer sign in the hood
I must say tat Ford big vehicles designs are superb..macho...way better than old school toyotas..4 instance look at the Ford raptor...mod friendly too..
bigger wheels + wider tires + heavier motor + 4x4 = under steer... which i believe was a problem even with the regular explorer
Nice Car
you don't have to describe the styling. We can see the thing.
if i had enough cash for a porsche id take over the ford all day, but till then its the explorer
About 4 years ago.
Roll bars? Cmon man.
Really? Funny how Land Rover has that system way before Ford did :D
Never heard anybody say " 'x' pound feet of torque" but I have heard " 'x' foot pounds"
Oooh...nice!
They owned rover, Aston martin, jaguar, volvo, and partnered with mazda
best car
oh ya.. when I think porsche cayenne competitor.. I think Ford Explorer. built tough yo.
@Sahijpal Dadehar ford flex Ecoboost killed the durango Rt hahaha
I've always told my friends that Ford made this vehicle for those who cannot afford the Real Deal......The Range Rover !
It looks good though...
So true
Am I the only one here who knows that ford used to own range rover? haha
That's way too much dough for a high depreciating Explorer. This new one starts at nearly 10G more than the last generation.
These are only 2 examples of when adding sport does something to the car/truck/suv/van but it proves that this guy didnt really do his homework , there is many vehicles out there with the word sport on the vehicle that actually does something to the vehicle. pero la range rover cuesta mas de 70.000 dolares
The lower body panels should have been painted for this model.
And Ford owned Land Rover...so yup.
but don't forget the new 2013 LR copy the explorer back tail lights lol
Was released before the new range rover..
im in the philippines and that ford go pass our house and i thought it was a land rover
355HP not 350HP
$ 47,000 is alot? what?.... Americans are so weird... in Europe it would cost $ 80,000... Well the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is ofc faster, better, but this looks good, would buy it probably as a second suv, after the jeep ofc.
did you say roll bars? lol
nice vehicle but it looks like a Ford Edge @ 1:28
lol tail lights? aint nothing special about it.
Taurus Outback
Still think the Durango RT kills this.
I doubt it
no way this car competes with the Porsche Cayenne...not in the same league !
Explorer comes first.
Actually, they come from same designer.
Roll bars? Wtf is he talking about?
I wouldn't want a rectangular shaped vehicle with no style, that can easily be optioned up to cost over $50,000, with shitty as myfordtouch. I'll keep my RT
The funny thing is that this came out before the range rover, which people mean. the range rover even got heat from critics for being an overpriced tarted up ford explorer.
look the chemtrails in the sky at 3:00
1:16
This review is sooooo painful...."..corners so flat because of the extra engine bracing up front" What??
psst, Ford owns LR...
Подарите мне эту тачку, пожалуйстаааааааааа, а то я за все жизнь не накоплююююю...
No need to compare to the Cherokee. Go buy a Raptor if that's what you want.
Roll bars..!!@!@#?????.. LMFAO....
Great, talks well and knows nothing. The start of the SUV would be either 1935 Suburbans or one of the 1950s vehicles. Long long before Ford turned up. A strut tower brace is not an engine brace. Don't be so rude.
what the f it is look like a range rover 2013

expensive
Dodges are junk, we have mess of them at work (govt. vehicles) and out of all the cars/trucks we have they break down the most and have the worst paint quality.
They can't afford it.
It's like a really shitty Range Rover.
This is an almost useless review.
Gross.
Evoque rip off
Actually genius, the Evoque is using a Ford 2.0L Ecoboost.
EscapeforMankind dragg him yess
