Hey thanks for posting a thoughtful review of this car! I am impressed with the new Ford Explorer platform and i like how practical it is for everyday drivers and for weekend thrill seekers. I think this review covers most of my concerns/questions about the SUV and i am definitely going to test drive the Ford Explorer and hopefully buy one down the road.

Thank you! I really don't have the answer for your questions about the rattling and MyFord Touch, but Consumer Reports does a good job with these details. I guess you have less to worry about if you lease these days.

Hi, yesterday i paid the advance for my new 2013 Explorer Limited Platinum White vehicle. As far as I have seen the car so far, its awesome, just like your review. Very nice way of presentation. I cant wait to get my hands on my new car. Awesome video, awesome presentation.
Ok, gotta love that water fall!! Nice touch. Great review as always. I am looking at SUV's. My husband is a Ford guy. I love Chevy, but I must admit this Ford looks pretty good. I have always loved Ford's spaces in their trucks and SUV's. My husband and I appreciate the head and leg room. :). Great job!!

Depends on what you are looking for. I have yet to test the Santa Fe - but I would think the Ford gives you more space. I will let you know when I get my hands on the Hyundai!
I've tried not to think about the Journey lol - years ago I rented one when it was first released and I hated it. I hear that they have really improved it though so I have to test a new one to be honest with you.

Great review of a great car - easily paired Bluetooth for cell phones, audible Sirius radio - Tune, Sirrius, Elvis! Auto tailgate opening and closing and more tech features I can believe! Was an easy pick over the Pilot, Yukon for the money!

hmmm - the CRV is a solid small crossover. So if you need something for 4 adults and you won't be hauling lots of cargo - it will do you well. It's also a Honda and they are bullet proof in terms of reliability. The Explorer on the other hand is a large crossover SUV - has more of a truck feel and has true seating for 7. You'll pay a bit more for the Explorer if you want to trick it out and it'll also cost you more at the pump. I'd say - test them both @ the dealer
Got a silver one just like he shows. Love it. Plenty of power and the stereo sounds great! Got rid of the POS General Motors SUV. Never again!!

I like them both. The Durango is sweet! Not sure if the Explorer has the V8 Option.

Hey there - sorry for the delayed response. I'd have to say that the MDX will give you the space, luxury and tech that you are looking for. I have yet to actually review one - but I know a few owners and they swear by them. Since you love the RDX - stay with Acura! ;)

NAV is an option. I didn't have it on the model that I tested
its ridiculous that i just spent 1.5 hours reading different sites and then found this video... great review! do you know much about the durability of this vehicle? i'm worried about rattling starting to develop, or MyFord Touch just going out on me.

I own a 1995 explorer xlt with the 4.0l v6 260000+ miles still going strong the explorer has always been an awesome truck no matter what year or generation.

The Explorer gets the nod because of it's technology - but they are both pretty solid. check out my Acadia review.
I love it. But it's too small to replace my Ford Expedition. Any recommendations besides a new Expedition? I got the latest model already but it's a 07 and getting lots of miles.

Yeah...Good review on the 4runner, I got the '13 SR5 trim. 3rd row no a/c air vent that's the only complaint on it. Other than that a great real SUV.
