Emile is a random fan with a copy of Nintendo power so why not tell them their is a podcast of the same name done by Nintendo, it just makes sense to do to be honest.

I can’t believe that one single tweet asking for more information for the bonus video nearly doubled the video’s original length. That just shows the dedication of Chugga’s fans!
Partners in Time's bonus video got even more length due to the same reason lol. IIRC it was originally a 9 minutes video, but fans suggestion extended the video's production by two weeks, and ended up being a half-hour video as a result.

Now I’m imaging Ness floating along with the party (after dying) watching them and hoping they make it to a healer. Then all of a sudden he hears “say fuzzy pickles!” and his joy is so great that he wills himself back to the mortal plane long enough to throw up a peace sign before dying again.
You forgot to mention the most important aspect of Mother 1 + 2- you can defeat Giygas by poisoning him instead of praying. It’s essentially the atheist way of finishing EarthBound.
He actually mentioned that at some point! It's either during after the Giygas was defeated, or it was in the near-finished version of this video. Which he let the fans see for comment or suggestions for about a day.
Truly the most euphoric ending of earthbound
I considered including this, but you have to survive for hours against him. To my knowledge, all recorded attempts of it use hacking in order to last that long, so it isn't something a player could actually do.

chuggaaconroy I actually attempted it myself, and it only took a couple minutes. As long as you whittle Giygas down after using the Viper in the second phase and make sure his HP is low enough so you don’t activate the third phase, he’ll die from poison damage pretty fast.

Chugga, I'm not sure if you will see this here considering that this is relatively old now, but I will say it anyway. It has been quite a long time since I have watched your videos, everynow and then I come back and I binge a series etc.. but I wanted to say thank you for all of the videos that you have put out. They have gotten me through some rough times, and they have been a constant in my life up to this point. I have been watching your videos since I was pretty young about 10 years ago, around the time you were putting out Paper Mario, and of course not long before that Earthbound. I remember being young and binge-watching your old Earthbound lets play. Keep in mind that I am 18 now. You have been a part of my life for quite a long time, and have been a constant. I can always go back to your channel and see a new series, or a series that I missed etc, there will always be Chugga there for me to watch. They don't fail to bring me joy when I watch them. Sometimes I go back and watch some of your old series as well just for the memories because it has been so very long and so much has changed in my life since then. This time it has been quite awhile since I have checked in, have a lot of videos to catch up on. Just thank you, Chugga. Continue doing what you have been doing. (oh and obligatory Okami bonus) I just hope you see this, maybe at some point will make a Twitter and tweet it I don't know. I just want you to know that you are appreciated and have helped me be me.

Frasier is actually one of my favorite sitcoms so having Earthbound be in an episode in the background is actually funny to me.

I’ll admit, at first I didn’t really care about this game as much. But recently, I’ve been doing some stuff with online emulators recently and managed to get Earthbound on my chrome book for school! (profile pic is of my dad, I’m really just a freshman in high school) I’ve just recently managed to get to Fourside as of this comment being posted. I truly understand that this game was a timeless classic and will always be one of the best games I’ve ever played other than Pokémon and super Smash Bros. The only thing that sucks about this is that my chrome book is linked to my school website, so most of the games are blocked, meaning that the school tech staff can basically wipe my save data at any point in time (thankfully they haven’t), another thing is that they’ve blocked most of your RUclips videos on the school internet. All I want to say, is thanks. I especially love how it’s nice to hear that I’m not alone on the autism spectrum (I’m aspergers (or as I like to call it, Ass Burgers.)) I know I’ve been going on and on in this comment, but all I want to say, is thanks for driving me through this journey. I’ll never forget the amount of fun I’ve had playing this game. Also, if you’re wondering what I named my heroes, I named Ness Flonp, I named Paula R-un, I named Jeff Madiq, And I named Poo Kito. Farewell Emile

This LP...I think this is the one that I would recommend to people who are interested in looking at Emile’s content but have not before honestly. This demonstrates how informative and simultaneously entertaining he can be. I don’t think after all this time watching him that he’s nearly as positive as people make him out to be, especially after watching PiT, but this LP, it never felt like he was being overly negative about any one thing, or if he was like with the Monkey Caves I felt it was coming from a genuine place, and that’s pretty much how I’d sum this LP up in one word: genuine.
You can tell how passionate he is about this game, how even though he’s so experienced with this to the point of mastery he hits the same stumbling blocks some of us do, how much he genuinely did not know about this and was surprised by his own discoveries and that of his fans and supporters. I’m honestly surprised at how much I learned from this LP. Every episode, there was at least something new about Earthbound I took away from this. The lack of forced deliveries or even puns, while maybe a detriment to some of his viewers, just shows how invested he was in this LP and its commentary that he didn’t have to resort to them as filler.
About the only negative point I could see is that Emile didn’t continue with showing off the travel guide sections of the Player’s Guide as he said he would when leaving Giant Step, but I imagine that maybe Devin and Shauntelle thought that it detracted from the visual aspect of the LP or something, and it’s not like there were a lot of uneventful opportunities presented where Emile could get away with showing that off again. I do wish the Guide was shown off more as it’s kind of a piece of art in its own right, but I guess that’s all the more reason to look it up online.
I daresay that this is probably going to be my top LP from Emile for a long time to come. I would happily rewatch this and share it with friends who are and are not Earthbound enthusiasts alike if only to see what they take away from this. Thank you, and until the next time I drop by this channel.

You can't actually get there since you can't teleport while dead, and the only way to get to Threed from Summers is teleportation. It probably wouldn't do anything different, though.

For me, Giygas has always invoked a feeling that's hard to describe. When I see Giygas, I see what looks like a human skull that's ind of melted or twisted. I get a feeling of dread mixed with something that's similar to empathy I guess. When I think of what Giygas is, I think of human experimentation. Something human, but something that became something inhuman. But mostly I fear dread

So something i found out recently about gygas that is interesting, if you take gygas's form in his final phase, flip it upside down, you can somewhat see the original form of what gygas looked like in mother 1.

For the photo at 1:45:
I'm no good with photos, but a year might be an important place to start. Cars are always the best way to tell when a film takes place or when a picture was taken. That white car looks like some sort of really old muscle car, but I have no idea of any possible models/makers. And those are some archaic-looking streetlights and architecture. It's definitely an old photo, but that's all I got ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That live action picture looks like Amory MS. My grandparents live there and we usually get burgers by a place known as Bill's Hamburgers. That's just a guess, theres probably a lot of places that look like that.
Thank you for all the work you do. When I saw the first couple episodes, I thought this would have been a much less content-packed series than the Pokémon Black/White series you just concluded, but it's been by far one of the most in-depth, comprehensive series on Earthbound I've seen, and being around for the ride has been amazing. I'm so glad you went back and turned what was a rather rough series into a very expansive love letter to what I and so many others consider one of the most timeless games of all time. Cheers.
Also that is definitely Mario Party 8/9 at the latest Peach on that Bookmark, mid/late 2000s. Around Mario Party 10's release, Nintendo switched off of shading the Mario models with shades of black to using lower value shades of the model's colors (likely via a more complex shader) and they've looked a lot more vibrant since! A shame that Nintendo seemingly included a form letter and completely brushed past the name, I'm sure a few people at NoA have some sort of working relationship with you, but still finally great to have some closure. Are the bookmarks going on the Mother shelves despite being definitely the wrong series? I know I'd put them there, just for laughs and to tell the story.
Hey I have a little story about something that happened to me while playing earthbound. On my first play through of the game ness's HP was way higher that it was suppose to be and by the time I was in the Deep Darkness I had over 800 HP, and after I went through magicant where ness gains incredible power my HP counter went over 1000 to be more specific 1120 but when displayed in the game it would only say I had 20 HP and when viewed from the stat menu it would say that I had 120/1120 HP. In battle when ness got damaged the counter would snap to the number it was suppose to be at after receiving damage without scrolling. I thinks it was a glitch as it stayed that way for the rest of the game but I thought it was an interesting story to tell so I thought I'd tell everyone.

Can’t say for sure since I’m not there, but that stock photo looks a lot like Roswell especially with the short buildings and UFO theme. I’ll be sure to check next time I go there if no one else is able to, but if anyone is there right now I’d check the area around the UFO museum.

This LP is 3 years old now, but man I love coming back to this. I originally started watching your channel when I was in middle school; a friend recommended it to me during our lunch period. I remember being in 8th grade and binging a ton of your LP’s during the summer, I remember the most fondly your Earthbound and your Mother 3 Let’s play. Being able to see this game with your current Let’s play style is so magical and it really shows not just how much you have grown since I first started watching your content but how much I’ve grown since being in middle school. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this channel; thank you for being you!

It would be so awesome if Chugga did a let's play of Earthbound Zero now that there's an official release. It may be out of order but it would be nice to see a more updated, higher quality let's play where he has time to discuss random trivia every so often
There's actually another effect of homesickness. If one were to get homesick on a long run without calling Ness' mother, provided that Ness does not die himself (which WILL remedy this), the player would get a call from said mother as a reminder to call, though the homesickness is not cured of. I've gone a while being in said condition in one of my playthroughs, and never got this call, albeit heard of it.
There were also two more "in Japan" instances you (quite literally) left out: Porky's dialogue following Carpainter's defeat, and the Japanese version's "Don't Care" names!

I believe what happened to Giygas is that after he was defeated in Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings, he went insane, and eventually fused with the Apple of Enlightenment. I believe after Pokey turned off the Devil's Machine, Giygas's corrupt form was revealed.

No, he actually did it before in his Kid Icarus LP(I believe episode 18). The photo of his face was on screen for a split second though, so you could for sure call this the longest it's been revealed.

I think this is the best lp you have ever made. It was almost perfect and you barely missed anything in a game as big as this. This lets play was my motivation while working a long summer job. And I was so disappointed any day that I didn’t have a episode. This has quickly became one of my favorite games of all time, thank you Emile. I stopped watching let’s plays a long time ago, but stumbling upon this reminded me of when I watched your let’s plays years ago and I was instantly hooked. I loved this lets play more than any other series I have ever watched on RUclips. Thanks for all the hard work and effort.
I loved this playthrough. I remember your first playthrough of Earthbound being my introduction to the series after hearing about it from smash bros, as well as being my introduction to your channel. Seeing this new playthrough and comparing it to my memories of first seeing it through, and then playing through it on my own via virtual console, has been an absolute pleasure. Despite not having the early-childhood memories of this game that a lot of fans had (I was a Pokemon kid) it holds a special place in my heart as a pillar of what games can and should be. Thanks for teaching myself, and other viewers, so much about a much-beloved game, while also providing the signature humor that's been in your videos since your first Earthbound LP.

I'd just like to say thank you for doing this game again. Before this play through, I didn't have any other way to play, so I'd turned to an emulator. But seeing this series made me want to save the money I needed to buy a copy for my 3DS. I loved having the experience of playing through a lot of the game along with the videos, getting to see more and more of why this game is so loved. And in a way, this series reminded me more of why I fell in love with this channel all those years ago. As always, thanks for doing what you do, and I'd love to meet you someday.

Emile going to the length of sending the post card away to NOA for the sake of the series is what makes him one of the most dedicated gaming channels out here, if not the _most_ dedicated gaming channel. I've been watching since 2010 and am continually floored by the amount of work and detail that he puts into these.
What a ride this was. So fun and so informative, and I definitely have to pick up this game now. I recommended the series to my best friend and he even stopped mid-way to buy the game and play along himself. So now we can both discuss the game and share our love of it, so thank you for that. Thanks for this playthrough Emile! This Let's Play really made me FINALLY consider playing this franchise I've never touched before, and I got to say, I'm REALLY digging it. I finished Mother 1 not too long ago, and I'm about halfway through Earthbound. I really enjoyed Mother 1, and Earthbound is simply as fun as you made it out to be. I can't wait to get to Mother 3 and see what this it is all about!
This really has been a fantastic journey, and I’m glad I got to experience it.

This playthrough was amazing! It made me really want to try earthbound, and thankfully it taught me how the game works! I hated seeing clips of it and not getting anything about what was going on, for that I thank you.
I posted this on Emile’s Twitter soon after this episode was uploaded, but I’m posting it here too because of what it means to me: I just wanted to say thank you. Everything that you've said during the Earthbound LP has just been so amazing and inspirational, especially your speech about Earthbound and childhood from the finale. And when you said you were on the spectrum... my brother is on the spectrum as well, and he is one of the most important people in my entire world. And knowing that someone we admire as much as you (seriously, we both think you're amazing) is on the spectrum as well just gives me so much hope for my brother's own future. Thank you so much. conniefunny2012 they may not have had anything laying around that was mother related. It's not like this series did well in America and you could argue that earthbound got it's popularity from smash Bros. I doubt they have much easy to send merch for earthbound.

They shoulda atleast done that. I would totally spend an absolute fortune if Nintendo still sold Earthbound Merch. I'm so sad that I wasn't even born when the game came out, thus missing my chance. The Mother series are some of my favorite games.

Watching this series has definitely made me into an EarthBound fan. I disregarded it from the start because of how old it was and just kind of assumed it would be a product of its time I'm glad you proved me wrong.
I'm not sure how legitamate the information is, but I've heard that in promotional material in Japan the game has been titled "Mother 2: Giygas Strikes Back".
Kinda reminds me of the 2nd PSX Crash Bandicoot game, though the similar titles are probably just a coincidence.

Also, I'll admit, watching this, I actually got really into earthbound, I bought it on the eshop, and I just rescued paula, and I'm in threed, and i have to say, thank you chuggaa for opening my eyes to a new favorite of mine, hopefully, soon, I may get pikmin 2, another one of my favorite let's plays you've done
The Terrarian Hero I honestly suggest getting the GameCube version as I don't care for motion controls that much but Pikmin 2 on the Wii uses the pointer which can help with being more accurate with throwing your tiny army at creatures. I guess it's up to your preference.
