Items during battle as a kid, I never used them, instantly selling them to any vender. As a kid, I spent several full days on this fight, using every coin of my money (mind the fact I sold every Bros. Attack I found) on healing items and red peppers, then went full hog. I was never out of reach of a charger and I remember refusing to go to the movies with the rest of my family (something that, to this day, I love to do and especially back then) cause I felt that I was so close. Roughly five minutes later, I finally beat it and I was ecstatic. After saving, I rushed to join my family, only to find out that they all left me and I was alone. The moral of this story is don't be an idiot, use super items for supering, and go with you family to the movies.
After thinking for a while, I realised that the Spike Shell Bros. Item is used somewhere in the game... not by the Bros. though. Bowser and Bowser Jr. 'use it' during the fight inside Thwomp Volcano
It's because in the era before simultaneous worldwide releases, the first region a game was launched in would be the one the developers got their first feedback from and make balance changes before launching in other regions. And since most Japanese games released in Japan first, that's why so many ended up harder/more tedious in that version. It wasn't deliberate, it's just patch updates at a time where patch updates weren't possible.

Despite the weird unhinged things he can say, an all the chaos he can cause when doing content with others... Chugga is still one my favorite solo commentators when it comes to games. I think it's the way he plans and prepares so much for his LPs, but he's also willing to admit when he screws something up and someone in the comments corrects him. That and his commentary is genuinely funny. lots of viewers will remember the most 'unique' comments he made during TRG videos.

Funnily enough, I was actually playing the 3DS remake of Superstar Saga at a convention I was at today! I was asked by a Nintendo staff member if I'd played the original, and I told them I hadn't, but I had seen a certain playthrough of it on RUclips and its DS sequel...

Retro 64 It's possible, but I feel that a Kirby game is unlikely since (correct me if I'm wrong) Chuggaa isn't a big Kirby fan. I remember he said he enjoyed Robobot, but I dunno if we'll see Triple Deluxe, and Robobot might be too recent for him to play. I also don't know if Kirby counts since he said somewhere we haven't been in a long time. There is no other game that takes place in Epic Yarn's world, so you can't really revisit it. He might've been referring to the literal location instead of just the game series.
My top two most likely predictions are either a Kirby game or a Sonic game, seeing as how he hasn't done an LP for either of these since 2012 and 2013 respectively. Other less likely predictions are Hey Pikmin! (it may be too early for him to consider doing this one), Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (fairly obscure, though has been re-released on VC), Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival (it's technically not set in Pallette, though he did say he liked this one), and a re-LP of EarthBound (if anything, he'll more likely start it in March as it will be the 10th anniversary of that LP).
Was not expecting the timehole attack to be the ultra rare one. I got it whilst playing along. This was my first time seeing the boss. Unfortunately I destroyed her legs right after so i thought the ship would appear when we went back to the future haha.
I was surprised too, since for me the fight took over 40 minutes (ran out of mix flowers D: ) she attacked me so much she got to use it like 3 times, I thought it was just a regular move
I audibly gasped when you showed off the Scoot Bloop, honestly. Considering I loosely based a Mario OC off this thing (he's taller, beefier, got a mom-heart tattoo on one of his tentacles), it's got a special place in my heart. :3
Yeah, I also saw this attack A LOT when I played as a kid. Maybe it's because I sucked and had to retry that battle more times than I'm willing to admit, though
I thought the last episode was its last. Chugga you always make final epsiodes so memorable and endearing. Haven't played this game in over a year but I remember enjoying it a lot.

I came back to this video to remember the fun I had playing the game at least 10 years ago and the fun watching it. I didn't realize it's been (almost) a year since chuggaa finished this. This game has a special place for me being one of the first non Pokémon RPG games I ever played and being one of the first DS games i played. Chuggaa, if you ever see this comment, thank you for the amazing videos you make on both your channel and TRG. You, Tim, and Jon are by far my favorite content creators and you guys are what make a year feel like no time at all.

Well ain't this one of those 'Timeless' LP's of a amazing game no one should forget. Can't wait for your next one chuggs, maybe it's another game involving time or one involving some sort horror element since Halloween is almost here. My birthday is in two days to so this week so far turning out to be pretty good and definitely worthwhile since I finally get to start working on my web comic to.

So glad you mentioned the post-credit group photo song. It makes me tear up every time I reach the end. It reminds me of when I was a kid in 2006, playing PiT and struggling for days with the final boss, until I finally beat it, and heard that beautiful little melody. As you said, it justs ends the game on such a great, heartwarming note, and it certifies just how good the experience is, and how much love I have for it. Such a shame that the US didn't hear it, and that the game has gone under the radar since its release. I can't even find the song on youtube ;_(.

On the Mario Wiki it says that the rare attack can only be seen when half of Elder Princess Shroob’s health is gone, meaning she has to have 1500 health or less in the American Version, or 1000 or less in the Non-American versions. Meaning you would have to have extremely out-there conditions to see this attack.
This has been a timeless effort. Thank you. (For speedrunning, a TAS of this game has popped up in my recommendations during the LP, even though it was uploaded during the last few days of Skyward Sword. For speedrunning, the EU English games are best, due to lower HP stats of all major bosses, and possibly the text in the game being less complex compared to other languages, therefore it is easier to speed through the text boxes)
Well this is very late. In 2018, said TAS got updated with a skip that cuts off a good hour and a half off the overall time. Going from about 3 hours 29 mins to 1 hour 52 mins. Migu is the one you'd want for the TAS.
I actually encountered this attack twice in the same run. But the first time it took about 5 turns for her to bring the time hole back and by that time I forgot the order
That was a fun watch. I just completed my first play through of Partners in Time and very much enjoyed it more than Superstar Saga, So watching this video after completing the game felt very appropriate and I learned more stuff about the game because of it. Thank you very much for that!
I never hated this game, it's honestly one of my favorites in the series(close to Bowser's Inside Story). It honestly surprises me that its the most hated out of the first three when its so much better in my opinion than Dream Team and Paper Jam. So thank you Chugga for helping to shed some light on one of my favorite childhood games. Hope more people give this game a second chance.
When searching for games to get for my DS a few years ago, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time caught my interest. Once again, a Chugga Let's Play gets me very interested, and when the time comes I'll definitely be picking it up. Thank you for the wonderful playthrough, as always, and I'll be excited to see what new adventure comes next!
I literally never saw it, and I played that boss fight like, 15 times? Child me thought it was a good idea to use the risk badge without having any clue how to actually play the game.
I, for one, played this game DOZENS of times, and for two, I guess I'm lucky(?) no clue I just always thought, "Welp, another attack I gotta avoid," never knew it was rare till I saw this video.
I agree with Chugga 100% - one of the greatest things about this game is that it lets us get to know the babies and, for me at least, appreciate them as genuine characters. Sure, I liked them before, because they're cute and all. But now I feel like each appearance they make, whether in Yoshi's Island or a sports spinoff, is more meaningful.
Here’s a funny story: I was fighting elder princess Shroob once and she used her time-hole attack TWICE in the same fight within 5-8 turns. When she first used it I was surprised and excited than the second time she used it I was in shock and freaking out. I’m guess I’m just really lucky. Edit: I should mention this was during a regular fight I wasn’t even trying to see the attack
Ive watched from the beginning. Every upload I would come home from work just to enjoy watching. This LP even made me play it mainly to test out that rumor of softlocking the game if you don't go under the castle before reaching Toad Town. But I enjoyed it nonetheless and can't wait to see whats coming next.
I'm glad you gave the game this much light. I have more memories of this title than any of the others in the series, and I even get nostalgic over the title screen's music.

Holy shit I never knew the time portal attack from Elder Princess Shroob was that rare. I saw it on my first playthrough of the game but me not knowing any better didn’t think anything of it. Only now years later have I realised how lucky I was to see that on my first encounter with her

I had actually seen that super rare Monstrous Elder Princess Shroob attack only once, but her legs were destroyed the next turn and that attack had always had me wondering what it did, so thank you for showing us Chuggaa.
I can't believe how much research was pt into this let's play, it almost felt like a documentary that took the form of a let's play. I'm gonna miss this. I hope Chugga let's play's Bowser's Inside Story sooner or later!
Gosh, when I first beat this game, I was terrified. This was when I was a tiny, little kid, for reference. I remember that I was shaking just fighting normal Princess Shroob, and then the Elder showed up. That blew my mind and scared me some more. When she transformed, it was just horrifying, and the music just amplified it more. That night, I couldn't sleep and was having nightmares when I did get a few winks. Going back and playing it recently, I'm not scared (of course, why would I be?), but that ending photograph really did get me. From the credits song to silence gave me a little piece of the terror I experienced when I was 5. Hearing that song really closed things up and reminded me of when I first beat Bowser's Inside Story. I love this game, and I'm glad to see others gave begun to as well.

3:42 By the way, Swiggler does have an attack that he can do, and this can only be spotted if you attack Swiggler Directly. Attacking Swiggler while he is Red, causes him to unleash Shockwaves right directly after you attack. This is something that can actually be missed, and is only read in the actual Partner's in time Guide Book.

My top two most likely predictions are either a Kirby game or a Sonic game, seeing as how he hasn't done an LP for either of these since 2012 and 2013 respectively.
Other less likely predictions are Hey Pikmin! (it may be too early for him to consider doing this one), Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (fairly obscure, though has been re-released on VC), Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival (it's technically not set in Pallette, though he did say he liked this one), and a re-LP of EarthBound (if anything, he'll more likely start it in March as it will be the 10th anniversary of that LP).
Was not expecting the timehole attack to be the ultra rare one. I got it whilst playing along. This was my first time seeing the boss. Unfortunately I destroyed her legs right after so i thought the ship would appear when we went back to the future haha.

I was surprised too, since for me the fight took over 40 minutes (ran out of mix flowers D: ) she attacked me so much she got to use it like 3 times, I thought it was just a regular move
I audibly gasped when you showed off the Scoot Bloop, honestly. Considering I loosely based a Mario OC off this thing (he's taller, beefier, got a mom-heart tattoo on one of his tentacles), it's got a special place in my heart. :3

This game has a special place for me being one of the first non Pokémon RPG games I ever played and being one of the first DS games i played. So glad you mentioned the post-credit group photo song. It makes me tear up every time I reach the end. It reminds me of when I was a kid in 2006, playing PiT and struggling for days with the final boss, until I finally beat it, and heard that beautiful little melody. As you said, it justs ends the game on such a great, heartwarming note, and it certifies just how good the experience is, and how much love I have for it. Such a shame that the US didn't hear it, and that the game has gone under the radar since its release. I can't even find the song on youtube ;_(.

The super rare attck was the first attck she did to me
I only saw it twice and that was in a single battle that took like 2 and a half hours. I still lost

On the Mario Wiki it says that the rare attack can only be seen when half of Elder Princess Shroob’s health is gone, meaning she has to have 1500 health or less in the American Version, or 1000 or less in the Non-American versions. Meaning you would have to have extremely out-there conditions to see this attack.

(For speedrunning, a TAS of this game has popped up in my recommendations during the LP, even though it was uploaded during the last few days of Skyward Sword. For speedrunning, the EU English games are best, due to lower HP stats of all major bosses, and possibly the text in the game being less complex compared to other languages, therefore it is easier to speed through the text boxes)

In 2018, said TAS got updated with a skip that cuts off a good hour and a half off the overall time. Going from about 3 hours 29 mins to 1 hour 52 mins.
Migu is the one you'd want for the TAS.

I actually encountered this attack twice in the same run. But the first time it took about 5 turns for her to bring the time hole back and by that time I forgot the order

That was a fun watch. I just completed my first play through of Partners in Time and very much enjoyed it more than Superstar Saga, So watching this video after completing the game felt very appropriate and I learned more stuff about the game because of it. Thank you very much for that!
I never hated this game, it's honestly one of my favorites in the series(close to Bowser's Inside Story). It honestly surprises me that its the most hated out of the first three when its so much better in my opinion than Dream Team and Paper Jam. So thank you Chugga for helping to shed some light on one of my favorite childhood games. Hope more people give this game a second chance.

I, for one, played this game DOZENS of times, and for two, I guess I'm lucky(?) no clue I just always thought, "Welp, another attack I gotta avoid," never knew it was rare till I saw this video.
I agree with Chugga 100% - one of the greatest things about this game is that it lets us get to know the babies and, for me at least, appreciate them as genuine characters. Sure, I liked them before, because they're cute and all. But now I feel like each appearance they make, whether in Yoshi's Island or a sports spinoff, is more meaningful.

Here’s a funny story: I was fighting elder princess Shroob once and she used her time-hole attack TWICE in the same fight within 5-8 turns. When she first used it I was surprised and excited than the second time she used it I was in shock and freaking out. I’m guess I’m just really lucky.
Edit: I should mention this was during a regular fight I wasn’t even trying to see the attack

Ive watched from the beginning. Every upload I would come home from work just to enjoy watching. This LP even made me play it mainly to test out that rumor of softlocking the game if you don't go under the castle before reaching Toad Town. But I enjoyed it nonetheless and can't wait to see whats coming next.

I had actually seen that super rare Monstrous Elder Princess Shroob attack only once, but her legs were destroyed the next turn and that attack had always had me wondering what it did, so thank you for showing us Chuggaa.

the fuck I was in the final boss battle for so long that I was able to see every single attack im not kidding
I don't think the cobalt star is central because the entire game you never see the center of it
Gosh, when I first beat this game, I was terrified. This was when I was a tiny, little kid, for reference. I remember that I was shaking just fighting normal Princess Shroob, and then the Elder showed up. That blew my mind and scared me some more. When she transformed, it was just horrifying, and the music just amplified it more. That night, I couldn't sleep and was having nightmares when I did get a few winks. Going back and playing it recently, I'm not scared (of course, why would I be?), but that ending photograph really did get me. From the credits song to silence gave me a little piece of the terror I experienced when I was 5. Hearing that song really closed things up and reminded me of when I first beat Bowser's Inside Story. I love this game, and I'm glad to see others gave begun to as well.

Attacking Swiggler while he is Red, causes him to unleash Shockwaves right directly after you attack. This is something that can actually be missed, and is only read in the actual Partner's in time Guide Book.
