My grandmother worked at the Disney Hotel in an era when they gave free tickets to employees very generously. She would pick me up from school every day and put me on the Monorail and then go back to work at the hotel and the park became my babysitter for 6 years. I rode this ride more times than I could ever count- like hundreds of times, from 6-12 years old and you captured it perfectly in every detail right down to the rain lamp display at the very end! I was really mourning the loss of this ride and now I don't have to. Thank you so much!
That is just UNFATHOMABLY COOL and NO FAIR!!! 😉💕 Seriously, though. How many kids get to go to Disneyland EVERY DAY!!!? I'm in my 50's now and STILL can't sleep the night before Disneyland. I can remember as a kid just daydreaming about this ride all the time, and how my brothers and sisters would lay in the dark talking about this ride for hours until we fell asleep- and then it was time to get up & go!!! I really do miss this ride and I loved your post.🤗💕❄
A very accurate CGI rendition of what the real ride was all about back in the 1960's. I was looking at other films that tried to capture the real ride, but this CGI really helps you see what it was really about to ride it. I really enjoyed this. It was a really cool ride to go on over and over some 50 years ago.
Lee Ryder It did officially close in 1985. Wikipedia has it covered for anyone who is interested. Here is the link. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_Thru_Inner_Space
Very impressive reproduction. That must have been a lot of work. You captured certain nuances that I distinctly remember especially the way the Omnimovers jerked around in certain places. As a kid, that was one of my favorite things. My mother and sister despised this ride but it was my Dad' favorite attraction in the whole park. I thought it was pretty great too. I have fond memories of our riding this together. The eye through the microscope at the end always amazed me. Thank for bringing this back into the world.
Robert J. Holtz When it first opened they were still using ticket books but the Inner Space ride was free, so we'd go on it repeatedly. Even so it was a great ride, and that was two years before the Haunted Mansion opened so it was the only ride in Anaheim that had the Omnimover vehicles at that time. I thought it was a crime they dismantled it, my favorite thing in the park.
Totally. The way the Omnimovers jerk back and forth is spot on. Also the way the nucleus of the atom is revealed and how you could see how flashing nucleus was attached to the wall by a rod.
The back-and-forth at the beginning is to cover the sensation of making a sharp left turn instead going straight through the Mighty Microscope. There was too much light in the queue area and you could usually see the buggies turning left as you entered the tunnel.
This is an awesome simulation. I remember riding this as a child. Thanks for allowing me to take one more spin :). Brought back so many memories. My mother screaming when the big eyeball appeared and my father laughing his head off and my eyes being big as saucers thinking it was so cool that we had actually shrunk and that Disneyland is amazing. Yep, that was a good time :)
I was 3 years old in 1971, and I was terrified to go on this ride. I screamed and cried after seeing the big cars go into the microscope and see the little ones in the glass cylinder... I never did go on it until I was 12 in 1980...
Wow! I rode this ride several times throughout the years and this is exactly how the ride was. Just amazing that it was captured so perfectly in animation. Too bad Monsanto will probably kill us all.
Lee Ryder Monsanto is not out to kill us. They are out to get rich, but it's their wanting to get rich that will most likely kill us off.....again. Just look at all the disasters they have caused in the past.
I don't sense a conspiracy here. It is a fact that large corporations care only about profits at any cost: that is how they survive. Hopefully we will find a way to stop planetary destruction from being profitable before it kills us, but the odds are not in our favor at present. Just facts.

Thank you, Steve Wesson for making this simulated version of a ride that went extinct before I was born, but have been interested nonetheless in ever since I first heard about it. If I invented a time machine, I'd use it to go back and ride this in real life.
I have ridden the actual ride back when I was a child and I can say that he did an uncanny job of recreating the ride exactly as it was including the people mover that passed through the attraction. There are so many good rides at Disney that are gone forever. The submarine voyage was my favorite.
Great job, Steve Wesson! Outstanding work! As a side note, up until 1982, most every attraction at Disneyland (and eventually Disney World) required a ticket. "A" tickets were the cheapest, "E" tickets the most expensive. "Adventure Thru Inner Space" (as well as "Great Moments with Mr Lincoln") were FREE attractions - they didn't require a ticket. Which made it very popular. That, and the fact that there was rarely if ever a line! Those ride vehicles, also used on the Haunted Mansion, were great. Adventure Thru Inner Space lasted from 1967 - 1985. Thanks for posting this.

I feel you mark. So many great memories of a simpler time as children. I saw it in the early 80s before they removed it. Rode it all the time too. Also rode the people mover and It's a Small World all the time. Great on hot summer days. Longest rides.
I'm glad you did this. I wasn't able to ride because I wasn't even born yet and the ride closed in the 1990s. I tried looking for good videos, but the quality wasn't good and some of them weren't even ride videos. Since people say that this video is amazingly accurate, I thank you for uploading this really good CGI version of Adventures Thru Inner Space!
I really wished they brought this ride back for a limited time in promotion of Ant Man...I mean it would make sense, and it would definitely draw a huge crowd. I just wish I could've rode it, but it was removed before I was even born.
You know ..how long till Disneyland brings in a Marvel Land to it's parks now that Galaxies Edge is happening. I can easily see this ride coming back Disney has all the blueprint s and construction notes and obviouslt the soundtrack. Ant Man attraction will not be out of the cards. I would like to thank the creator or creators of this virtual simulation of one of Disney Land's classic rides. Thank you for preserving it here forever so its never forgotten and we can continue to experience it though its no longer in service. I rode this with my parents way back in the early 60s. I was a kid in the early-mid '70s, and lived close to Disneyland. I got to ride this "ride" many times. This ride, and, Star Trek: TOS reruns, gave me my love for science. Thank you for this!
I have the DVD, and I'm only too happy to click now that I've encountered this video on RUclips. In addition to the ride-thru, I love the winding queue, the glimpses of the Peoplemover, the Monsanto promotional materials, and the Mary Blair mural. Excellent work, Mr. Wesson!
He used to sell this on DVD I don't know if he still does but I have it and treasure it as my only memory of this ride was being frightened by watching my familly get shrunk in the Mighty Microscope while I waited with my dad and the exit.
I refused to get on, because what if they can't bring me back to normal? Heck, the rocket ride to Mars didn't work right (we never even landed) so why would Inner Space work properly?
There’s something eerie and creepy about the ride. The music and haunting narration freaks me out but I love it. Thank you so much for giving us youngsters the ability to experience this ride!

Bravo, Steve Wesson! Thank you for putting so much work into this amazing (and amazingly accurate) recreation. You just brought back a lot of great childhood memories.
One reason Adventure Thru Inner Space so was popular (and repeatable) was that it was one of the only “free” attractions, meaning it didn’t require a ticket to ride, as it was sponsored by Monsanto. Once Disneyland went to a ticketless system in 1982, it’s days we’re numbered
Moved to Irvine Ca from Jacksonville Fl at the age of 8 in 1980. Enjoyed this ride that would one day become Star Tours many times. Outstanding representation here.
Rode on this with my mother in 1970, and we always wondered who "Monsanto Voice" was. The narrator is African-American character actor Will Kuluva, who also starred in The Twilight Zone's "The New Exhibit" and an Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episode. The ride made us believe that this was a glimpse in to the future that I would grow up in ... ha ha! But it was a lot of fun and I miss being able to see these things.
Thank you so much for this!!!! Instantly I was transported back to 1968, I was 10 years old and holding my grandmother and aunt's hands as I went through this ride for the first time. Awesome!!!!!
Thanks a lot for this. I've heard about this ride so much and have always been curious what it was actually like. Great to do a virtual tour at any rate.
Thank you for creating this Steve Wesson! This video is awesome! I showed it to my daughter, and she wishes this ride were still there just like I do. I still have my DVD copy this ride through video that I purchased years ago before youtube was commonplace :-)
Fantastic simulation -- I always looked forward to this ride when visiting Disneyland. I recall the neutrons 'jumping' differently -- like an arc, over your head -- but everything else is spot-on perfect. Thanks for sharing your amazing work!
One of my earliest Disneyland memories was seeing that huge eye through the telescope. I had no idea what it was until I watched some RUclips docu-videos on it in the last year or so. Awesome rendition!
You just gave me some serious nostalgia, Disneyland just isn't what it used to be anymore. Thank you so very much for the upload, this ride is definitely missed
To whom ever created this reproduction of this attraction thank you your reproduction is uncanny. My uncle worked on the construction of this attraction in 1966 at Disneyland. The only thing I did not notice is when you exit the attraction at the end of the ride the netting that surounded the snow flakes originally dripped oil down the synthetic chords. Like the dripping oil lamps that were so popular in the 60's thanks for creating this wonderful visual for me and my family.
Oh, the nostalgia. I remember riding it as a kid, but the details have been lost to time. As a kid, you could let yourself believe it was real and be immersed in the ride completely. This recreation is astoundingly accurate. The spatial transition of the audio narration by Paul Frees from the overhead to the speaker in the ride tram once you board was perfectly done.
Congratulations! This is a gorgeous animation work. This is a very nice legacy for those many young people who couldn't be in this ride. Keep doing this fantastic work.
I remember going on this ride I guess about '83. I was 7. It was the most mind-boggling thing I had ever experienced. This animation is absolutely top notch. Great work.
Bravo! This was my favorite ride when I first visited Disneyland as a 10 year old in 1968! Great reconstruction....So cool to have the actual soundtrack!
Great job recreating this ride. It brought back fond memories when I used to ride this with my dad when I was small. Today's generation don't know what they're missing. Sigh...

Oh my Gosh!! Thank you so much 💓, this was my favorite! You reminded my
e of my childhood, my family 😥
love this ride moved to california in 1966 must have gone this ride 100 times or more good job on making this!!!!!!!
This is absolutely marvelous!! What an incredible rendering! It takes me right back there. Bravo!
Thank you so much for this. Very well done. Takes me back...
Thank you for this! Was lucky enough to ride it twice....once in 1972 and again in 1984, right before it closed. Great memories.
Simply fantastic. I loved this ride!
Wow! That was amazing. I've been on that ride so many times. You nailed it. Thanks for letting me relive it.
That brought back a lot of old memories. Late 60s into the 70s. Thanks very much. I feel like I was actually on the ride again.
Moved to Irvine Ca from Jacksonville Fl at the age of 8 in 1980. Enjoyed this ride that would one day become Star Tours many times. Outstanding representation here.
THIS made me SO HAPPY! Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing back very happy memories from my childhood!
Beautiful era at disneyland 60's-early 80's...those were the amazing years there. this was my favorite ride
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for making it!
The memories this brings back are incredible. Excellent job! Thx.
AWESOME! Brought back every childhood memory of what was my favorite ride in Disneyland
Beautifully done. Thank you.
Absolutely incredible..best video i've ever seen "inner thru space!"
WOW this took me back. Amazing job - thank you
Thank you so much for this!!!!
❤ I loved this ride , still do, thanks for the video 😊
Amazing recreation! I have fond memories of this ride. Brought me back to when I’d ride it with my brother as a young kid.
Thank you for doing this. I could feel parts of my brain electrically come alive with memories. You did an AMAZING job. 👍🏼🙏
Bravo! Simply amazing!
Thank you for creating this Steve Wesson! This video is awesome! I showed it to my daughter, and she wishes this ride were still there just like I do. I still have my DVD copy this ride through video that I purchased years ago before youtube was commonplace :-)
This was an amazing recreation! Thank you for providing this experience!
Thank you for the memories its just like is was I do miss that ride thank you
Excellent work on this Steve! I think this is the best simulation I've seen of a ride I actually rode. Sweet!
Nicely done!
Fantastic simulation -- I always looked forward to this ride when visiting Disneyland. I recall the neutrons 'jumping' differently -- like an arc, over your head -- but everything else is spot-on perfect. Thanks for sharing your amazing work!
Thank you so much! That brought back magical memories. 🥰
Thank you so very much for the upload, this ride is definitely missed
thank you so much! loved this ride as a child
Great job! Classic ride
Complete genius! Thank you for this leap back into time. Your dedication to detail is astounding.
I remember this ride....loved it!
This ride belongs in Disney Land Tomorrow Land. They should bring it back.
Absolutely perfect recreation ... bravo!
Great video. Brings back memories.
Great job recreating this ride. It brought back fond memories when I used to ride this with my dad when I was small. Today's generation don't know what they're missing. Sigh...
Thanks so much for the memories!
This is sooooo cool! I appreciate it immensely, as it was my favorite Disneyland ride as a kid. Thanks for creating and posting!
Awesome job I am amazed at the detail and attention you put into this recreation. You are a true Disneyland fan, thanks for the nostalgia.
Good stuff.....takes me back to childhood. Magic.
