Outstanding virtual ride thru Adventure Through Inner Space was arguably the best Disneyland ride at the time loved by so many although it has been gone long before i came! now i first saw this video July 13 2016 at Dormont park in Pittsburgh PA and of course this ride does make me thinking of it !
WOW! YOU NAILED IT! This recreation is fantastic..just like the attraction. You even have Miracles from Molecules music. Where did you find the elongated end music to that theme? Just wonderful. After seeing this, how can one not say this type of attraction MUST return. There was nothing like it...inner space...perfect for Tomorrowland. Personally I think it should return...with updated effects, perhaps, and move Star Tours to the appropriate land. Your video- and the attraction- stimulate the imagination and create the desire for scientific knowledge and mystery-- all themes that were, and should be, the hallmark of Disney.
I have very strong memories of this attraction. I remember, as a child, totally believing in the shrunken down versions of the Doombuggies that are in the Mighty Microscope. I also spent many rides making out with girlfriends on this attraction. I remember that the Snowflake that was covered in gum. While I love Star Tours, I do miss the educational-cheesiness of this attraction. Thanks for bringing it back for us!
When i was a kid and this ride was still around, we used to love going on this ride after going through rides like space mountain so that we could relax for a few minutes in air conditioning and darkness out the hot summer days. If there was a line it really went fast since the buggies never stopped so loading was always quick. And since the loading and unloading areas are in different locations, there was never any slow down in waiting for people to get off.
It’s so funny a ride I’ve gone on probably about 400 times is a virtual ride on RUclips. It was a great ride. I loved it but this attraction never ever had a line. No one appreciated it. Well some of us did. But yes it was an attraction people didn’t go on.
I bought this DVD before it was available on RUclips, Amazing CGI work from Steve Wesson, I used to live in Orange County (Huntington Beach) and went to Disneyland quite often and I always made sure to ride ATIS, one of my favorite rides from the time it opened in 1967 to the time it closed in 1985, I like Star Tours but I would much rather have ATIS back.
Were parts of the ride really in total darkness for so long? I always presumed the filmed versions were either incomplete or didn't have enough light to capture it well.
You know what's amusing? I remember buying this recreation of ATIS on DVD from the creator's website way back in my early teenage years, before RUclips even existed! The fact that I went out of my way to buy that DVD even though I otherwise have no nostalgia whatsoever for ATIS (being born in 1992, well after Star Tours replaced it) says a lot about how much into Disneyland history I've always been. LOL!
I would like to thank the creator or creators of this virtual simulation of one of Disney Land's classic rides. Thank you for preserving it here forever so its never forgotten and we can continue to experience it though its no longer in service. I rode this with my parents way back in the early 60s. I never forgot it.
Spectacular. I never rode this and yet I had an experience with the twists and turn reveals just like I was on a ride! I also love the detail of the revolving floor which reminds me of the people mover. Great journey, amazing work!
I don't know why, but the thought of shrinking scares the living crap out of me. Photographs taken on electron microscopes, the thought of being swallowed by a giant animal, the "Quantum Realm" on Doctor Strange... and this unsettling music doesn't help either.
I remember riding this as a kid B4 Star Tours took its place...now as a grown-up it's like I'm riding it for one last tym...those atomobiles are very similar to the H.M. doombuggies
I looked at lost to time disney rides and I wanted to ride this based of of people's comments it's accourit I'm 11 right now and this was made before I was born and destroyed before I was born 😢😢😢 now I wish this ride was still up to time but scientists now a days achaully can see almost that far at least I'm pretty shure
Oh, the nostalgia. I remember riding it as a kid, but the details have been lost to time. As a kid, you could let yourself believe it was real and be immersed in the ride completely. This recreation is astoundingly accurate. The spatial transition of the audio narration by Paul Frees from the overhead to the speaker in the ride tram once you board was perfectly done.
One reason Adventure Thru Inner Space so was popular (and repeatable) was that it was one of the only “free” attractions, meaning it didn’t require a ticket to ride, as it was sponsored by Monsanto. Once Disneyland went to a ticketless system in 1982, it’s days we’re numbered
I have just heard about this ride. Sadly I was born in 1990, 5 years after this ride closed down. But hey, thanks for the ride. Just curious, where did you get the audio from the original ride?
We created the 5.1 surround sound audio that was featured on this DVD using the original source audio from the attraction, breaking down the audio and remixing it in full surround sound. The audio you hear on this RUclips video is a stereo rip of the dvd audio.

This is so well done. It’s as I remember it as a boy all those years ago. Thank you for allowing me to experience it again.

Just fantastic
Disney should bring back a few of their retro rides for shits and giggles.
We have gone backward. Woody. This was real for some of us! We'll never forget.
I loved this ride as a child!!! Yes... Inreally thought we shrunk!!
Greetings! May I use this footage in a video I'm making discussing this ride's history? I will give your channel full credit.

This just makes me want to ride the People Mover
My Dad humored me and road this with me 5 times in 1972. One of my best memories ever!

As high schoolers, it was our goal to take girls on this ride and try to make out with them in the darkness and relative privacy.
Were parts of the ride really in total darkness for so long? I always presumed the filmed versions were either incomplete or didn't have enough light to capture it well.
Sadly this ride closed many years before I was born, but it definitely looks interesting
I still love this ....

I was totally terrified of this ride as a child
😍😍😍

Exactly how I remember 😊thank you😊
This would have scared me as a kid
Same
12 years later this is still the best complete cg ride recreation ever made.
I don't know why, but the thought of shrinking scares the living crap out of me. Photographs taken on electron microscopes, the thought of being swallowed by a giant animal, the "Quantum Realm" on Doctor Strange... and this unsettling music doesn't help either.
I just realized something. So why doea the ending song sound EXACTLY JUST LIKE the Iron-Man 2 expo theme song?
I remember riding this as a kid B4 Star Tours took its place...now as a grown-up it's like I'm riding it for one last tym...those atomobiles are very similar to the H.M. doombuggies
Very cool, thanks!

❤ I loved this ride , still do, thanks for the video 😊

You could make the loose connection this was hank pym trying to find the quantum realm.
As a kid I loved this attraction.
I loved this ride as a kid, but it scared me. I thought we were going through a shot, not a microscope!
Thank you so much for this. Very well done. Takes me back...
All I can see is the Star Wars que now.
This ride quite an impact on me as a young child when I first went to Disneyland around this time I liked when we started becoming snowflakes it got really cold along with effects and the topper was the guy looking at you through the microscope when you started to go back to regular size, and the pulsing of the nucleus of the atom reminded me of The Fantastic Voyage which I also saw as a kid. Great job 😊
I remember riding adventure through inner space with my 2 sisters at Disneyland back on 1983.

This detail is literally incredible. Took me right back to my childhood especially the snowflake wall
