I am 68 1/2 ears old and love the earth, especially the north country. Your videos speak to me and I thank you for them from the bottom of my heart. Your words echo my thoughts. I have felt the same as you since I was a boy exploring the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and the Quetico PP. Your wisdom and insight bring tears to my eyes now. I hope we can save this planet, not for humans but for all the other creatures that have no say about their future. I have come to think we humans are a lost cause, and the last 5 years have really solidified that opinion. Yes many care, but so many more have no clue and appear to be beyond the reach of reason. I fear the ignorant will win out. Maybe a plague will take us out (or most of us) and we can do it better the second time. I can only hope. For those creatures that cannot speak for themselves. Thank you.
I agree, but the issues with our governments is they have absolutely no clue about the world around them, they care only about money n power, the level of corruption going on these passed few yrs is incredible. Maybe the WEF & WHO have the right idea, population control. Maybe not 90% but a good 50%. But we must realize that the dumbing down of society was purposeful for their gains at the detriment of nature, their green solutions are also unsustainable and they know it, but money.
Moose are not to be underestimated, especially in the rut. While I was on this trip, my friend's dad nearly lost his life to one. Long story short, his hunting party shot a bull moose with three arrows. The bull charged him, knocked him down, and then raked him with its 52" rack. His partners bravely distracted the moose and it finally fell dead from the arrows that had struck it. My friend's dad had severe blood loss causing him to temporarily lose his vision as his two hunting partners urgently worked to evacuate him. He made it to the hospital just in time for them to save his life. This is not really my story to tell, but I want to make it clear that these are not docile petting zoo donkeys. Their power is incredible so give them space and respect.
Thats my biggest fear when im out in the boundary waters area in fall. I carry bear spray but to be honest i dont know how affective it would be on a bull moose in rut coming at you.
Moose are no joke I was charged and tipped in my canoe once by a bull luckily it left me alone and kept after my boat until it got bored and left. It didn't hurt the boat luckily...
One of the best way to ward off a moose is to stay right by your fire and try to make it as smoky as possible. This is what saved one of our line cutter's butt while we were surveying mining claims in 1970. He was a First Nations member and knew what to do. He stopped and lit an old dead birch stump that was just off the line on fire. The Moose got wind of the fire and left.
I love how you humbly called yourself out about overreacting to Erin one time when she lost the net and your self reflection about the situation, admitting where you were wrong. You're a good man. God bless you.
When I clicked on this and saw it was two hours, I was like “yeah, don’t think I’ll watch much of this”. And here I am, two full hours later....This was incredibly well done. Great movie! I really can’t say enough good things about it.
Your monologue about nature and it's fragility was heart felt and real - she is a living entity comprised of all the creatures roaming around on her back - Thanks dude for bravely saying what needs to be said. Cheers.
Thanks Hawksshadow! It's a bit frustrating that some people can watch a 2-hour vlog of me in nature but then throw shade at me for discussing the notion of protecting it. Appreciate your support
I really enjoy your videos and despite my intense disagreement about your proposed means and not the need to conserve nature, I will continue to support your channel, share your videos and spread the word about the great product you produce. I don’t expect what I have to say to make a dent in how you feel, but I will say I once thought along your line of thought. What changed me were two things. First, nature was here long before us and will be here long after us. The earth once had no living creatures on it and it was “nature”. If an environmental agency existed before oxygen was released into the atmosphere presumably by algae, it would have done everything it could to prevent it and there would be none of the life we see today. The moon is “nature” in its apparent barrenness. Man is never going to be above nature. What we do to the planet is as natural as what those prehistoric microbes did to the atmosphere to create the conditions for our life today. Nature is neither kind nor cruel. It just is. The question to be asked is what kind of world do we want to live in and is it in our ability to achieve. The second thing that changed me was living abroad (in China) and traveling in the developed world. I would strongly encourage you to do so. Canada and the US could become radical environmentalists tomorrow in totality and it would change nothing. Canada has nearly 40 million people and is the 2nd largest country in the world. You live in a wilderness paradise that is drop dead easy to conserve in comparison to developing countries. In contrast, China is nearly the size of Canada with 35 times the population. The pollution in China is staggering, yet they have the authoritarian government to do whatever they want. It is very easy for us to talk about consumption and reduced population, but when you live on less than a tenth of what the “poor” in the US and Canada already have, who are you to condemn other people to lives of want, starvation and no opportunities for their children? Your very ability to make these videos is predicated on consumption as you support your endeavors by monetization and selling merchandise. Your advocacy for government to solve these problems is the same cry I have had heard for 50 years to solve the issue du jour. Do you not know that government is policy prescription at the point of a gun? It is only through the development of technology that we will be able to rise to the challenges of tomorrow. Only free societies will develop that technology. Talk of throwing away your freedom so government can solve problems is a trade of the golden goose for a bag of non-magic beans. One last bit of critique, talk of too many people on the planet is dangerously conceited. How are you going to reduce the population? Who gets to live and die? Who gets to have kids and who doesn’t? Who gets to travel in the wilderness and who doesn’t? I think the best thing you can do is to continue to make your videos to show the value of preservation. Continue to point out the senseless contamination of the backcountry (leave no trace ethics) and advocate for increased usage and access. I have never liked the idea of keeping animals and zoos, but they serve as ambassadors. If every zoo was close, I don’t think it would help the cause of preserving habitat. We need to see the animals to relate to them and want to preserve them in their natural habitat. These videos serve a similar cause. Most people will never take a trip like this, but seeing it brings it to life. In conjunction with your type of passion about its value, maybe we can keep these places wild.
@@LostLakes I respectfully disagree with your comments at the end of the video. Nature will outlast humans. The Earth will have ways of cleaning itself and life will flourish again when we are gone. I agree that we should try to live in harmony with nature. I think the problem is not the ordinary person but the big multinational conglomerates. It is these big factories and processing plants that are the ones who are really polluting the planet. I don't think governments are going to solve this problem. They support these big companies, give them tax breaks let them do what they want and now they are telling us it is our carbon footprint that needs to be cut. I am not buying that. If they were serious about stopping pollution they would impose restrictions on big business but they will not, That will never happen because our governments are corrupt and line their pockets with big businesses lobbying money. Instead of that, they will tell the ordinary people it is their fault and they must cut back and pay more for their goods and services. If governments solved problems the world would be getting better but have a look around, things are getting much worse. I believe it is these governments that are the problem. There has just been the biggest wealth transfer in history but these peoples greed knows no end and they seek to take more of our wealth by blaming climate change on us. It is these people that need to change, not us.
@@kjanis6150 ... You really don't seem to understand the true damage being done and still will continue to be an issue especially after we are gone from this damned rock floating through space.. It's blatant ignorance in full force. There are so many ways I could go on about this but from what you've said "probably won't put a dent in your line of thinking". Maybe start with how much plastic is really on this earth and how micro plastics are being found in humans now, starting in fetuses.. Yummy. Disturbing to see this amount of ignorance still with all the peer-reviewed studies and factual information available right at our fingertips.
Great footage. Beautifully filmed. You are really turning into a fine filmmaker . The moose, the drone shots, the beauty of the fall, the story ... made for a great Friday night show!!
This channel is a treasure that needs to be shared far and wide. Please dont denigrate your filming skills, either; the cinematography is stunning. You are so genuine and honest! I love your videos.
When I saw the length of this post, I thought I’ll never watch it all, but it was an amazing video, never missed a minute! Documentary quality, that should be shared with all. By the way marry that girl! She’s a keeper!
It's so ironic how good of a feeling you get, being open and alone in the wild, all while knowing or not , that the environment your in, does not care at all about you and your feelings.
I wish my anxiety and mental health was going to get better so I could do something with my life like this instead of being bed bound. Your vlogs have shown me there is life and beautiful things, rain, snow and sun outside these four walls .. thank you xx
I struggle with not being physically able to do things I used to do, since suffering a neck injury in 2015 which has lead to me losing strength in both my arms, on top of chronic pain caused by occipital neuralgia and cervical stenosis. There are times I feel too overwhelmed by my struggles, I find myself watching videos like this as a reminder why I keep going. I’m glad you’ve found something to enjoy, and I really hope you’re doing well.
@@RustyRed17 Jon's mission (and Erin's) work on this Earth has influenced so many. RustyRed17 This Channel does just that - gets us to where we can not go. For those of us that care about the outdoors, it really matters. Understand completely, I suffer with a injuries from a drunk driver hitting me. Slowly, when can, take that drive or sit outside a spell. Mother Nature will show Herself to You. So worth staying for the Show. Sending Best, Magdalena
Hey, you have no idea how blessed it is to have these videos, including this one, to hang onto as US citizens can't get across the border because of Covid-19 restrictions and desperately miss canoeing in the Ontario wilderness. Thanks so much for your sensitivity to the wilderness and willingness to stand for what you believe in. I am so thankful for your videos and for your willingness to advocate for wilderness and preservation. Bless both of you.
Thank you so much Mark!! I really feel for you...there was a camping ban here even for residents---I think it was about 6 weeks---and even that was awful
Absolutely amazing scenery. The moose makes it worth it. True words of a wise man at the end, i'm glad to see my fellow Canadians care as much as I about nature.
Thanks a lot Sarcasma :) As Canadians, with a relatively young country, we struggle with our identity sometimes. We know we're not Americans, it's cold here, a lot of us like hockey, we export maple syrup...but arguably the biggest piece of our identity is out there in the wilderness, which we're so lucky to have so much of left.
LOVE the long, epic, solo river trips Jon. This one was the best yet. Your videography and editing keep getting better and better. The addition of the occasional narration is a nice touch too. How you don't have 500K + subscribers by now is beyond me. Keep on keeping on.
The net is slowly turning into its own character!!! You got 99 problems and a net is all of them! Those fall colours, we live in a magical place... The sound of water against a paddle must be the most relaxing sound ever. Also love that you made a 2 hour video. You are right about bull moose in the rut, my dad came across one a few years back, and luckily was able to escape its charge. One of the scariest moments of his life. Also - the beer and doritos was a great ending!
Right now a good portion of Colorado and the western US is on 🔥 fire. They say the cause is under investigation...there has NOT been any lightning in Colorado to start most of them. What does that mean...a very good chance of them being man-made...either on accident or intentionally. (They have also been set in a geographical pattern.) I do understand the need to respect, care for and try to repair the planet for all who inhabit it. Overpopulation is a very big problem which needs to be responsibly addressed. Every Country on this planet needs to do their part in protecting the people, wildlife, land, air and water...or there will not be any in the future. Everything depends upon each and every one of us. In the 🇺🇸 USA, we need to stop all the negative behavior that has come to the forefront as of late. We need to come together and work together to survive.
LOL so true. And I bet most people are forgetting that I broke my long-time net on the trip with Joe in June. I'm on to my fourth net of the year 🤦♂️🤦♂️ Thanks Andrew!
So true Vicki, well said. You hit the nail on the head with the term "working together." If we act as self-interested individuals, the future is bleak.
Thank you for this beautiful video and the message behind it. This brought back many memories for me of my time being in northern Manitoba. Nature is precious and fragile and there is no us without it. We are connected to everything and have lost that simple fact along the way. Cheers.
Another wonderful filmed and narrated adventure. Glad to see you integrating a double ender into paddling solo, saves the wrists, great in a headwind, harder on shoulders. R.I.P. another net.
I am immensely grateful you said what you did in this video. I am 60yrs old and have been paddling in the back country of Canada for 50 yrs. We need to keep our natural spaces healthy and thriving. How blessed are we to get these experiences.
PS: Thanks for filming and everything extra that goes into the final youtube video we are seeing, Iam sure it is greatly appreciated by a lot more than just me, so great watching these video, esp when they are no broken down into multiple episodes and have wait a week to see the next part. Can not wait for the next adventure
Jon, into every life some humble pie will be served and you ate yours gracefully ;-) Your Erin is a peach for sure!! I am running out of thank you's and accolades for all your work. I find the music hauntingly beautiful and slightly melancholy and wondering what it is? It takes me back to so many years gone by, my own trips and times in nature. Such an appropriate choice I think. One of the hardest things about returning from a trip in the outdoors is the assault of sounds/noise that seems so deafening at first right?! As for US politics and civil discourse, I feel distraught to my bones about the path this country has taken. My father fought in WW II all over Europe, was a staunch republican and I know he would devastated with what has happened in our country. We MUST hear each other and respect our differences. Much more I could say but will leave it at that. Thank you Jon, geez the moose encounters were CRAZY!! 💜 B
It is such a treat to digitally tag along on one of your canoe trips. I love it. Really well done and well documented. As for the comments at the end, yea, I'm with you on what needs to happen on election day down here in the states. I hope "the force is with us" this time. Can't wait to see what you're up to this winter. Best wishes in these troubled times.
Awesome trip!! I love your channel, your passion and your commitment to the environment. Your afterword was moving and spot on. I live in the US and am frightened for the future of our country and our world. The outcome of this election will mean the difference between four more years of delusion and four years of rebuilding what has been eroded. This includes the erosion of the US as a leader of environmental change and holding countries accountable when they are unwilling to change. Please continue to do what you are doing. Your voice and your message are needed.
The delusion is in the hypocritical, corrupt and power hungry democrat party !! And should you vote for that then you deserve what you get !!! I love nature and AMERICAN , they just love themselves!!
@@kevinpiche5072 yikes. Okay, I didn’t mean to start something. I honestly see both sides and totally agree that the Democratic Party is also a train wreck. At this point, I feel like we are voting for the lesser of two evils. I appreciate your viewpoint.
@@mattg2935 I truly believe that the current president has brought out what has become of our government and biased media, which is why we voted for him in the first place. And also Supreme Court judges that rule by constitution, not their personal agendas !!!!
Thanks so much Matt!! The US election affects many other countries, especially Canada. But here's what the environmental issues boil down to: if countries operate in only their own self-interest, we are all screwed. All world powers need to be united in order to steer us in the right direction. The POTUS has proven that he doesn't work well with others, is a climate change denier (a topic I intentionally omitted from the afterword because if anyone still doesn't believe the 97% of scientists who study climate, I'm not gonna try to change their minds), and is pretty much incapable of diplomacy (except he has struck up some relationships with the tyrants of the world). Do I have more faith in Biden's ability to work with others in the best interests of the planet? Yeah. Here's a brief article on the environmental platforms: www.cbc.ca/news/world/us-issues-canada-environment-1.5746288

I really enjoyed the voice over monologs you did on this one. But the last one for sure was moving. There's an old saying,"We don't inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." I hope that someday you become a proud father of a child that embraces your love of the creator's work.
I'm not normally a RUclips commenter, but I can't NOT pass along my thanks for this. High Falls, holy cow. What an incredible film. There's a lot to that idea that a rainy day outdoors is better than a sunny day at your desk and this backs it up even more. I finally finished the Quetico series a few nights ago and when you dedicated them to those of us stuck inside, it was like a tightness I didn't know I was carrying in my chest was loosened. Your videos have all been great and they've been an almost essential balm for me this year. So thank you!
Thank you so much Joshua! It really makes me glad to hear that so thanks for chiming in. Even Ontario residents were banned from camping for 6 weeks or so at the start of spring. It was killing me, so I empathize with your position. Nature is like my religion in the sense that it's the most spiritual experience in my life, and not being able to camp was like telling a devout worshiper they can't go to church. A second wave is spiking here so I really hope we're not headed back to that point! Thank you again :)
Thank you for sharing these incredible outdoor treks. Your passion for the outdoors shows. I have been doing wilderness trips since I was 9 years old via my parents. Quetico Provencial park being my first from Canadian side. Spectacular, harrowing and exciting. Walleye, pike, large mouth bass. Being able to get out in the wilderness is part of appreciation of nature. We are each responsible for conserving our part of nature. Environment is much cleaner than when I was a kid. When I was growing people went out and cleaned up the environment. Today everyone is promoting a guilt complex (global warming/climate change) because we are breathing. This is government perpetuated nonsense and unhealthy for society staying involved with the environment.
I just watched this. I don't know how you endure the coldness. But I have thoroughly enjoyed your trip. You took me places I could never get to myself. And all of the beautiful country and wild life. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this amazing trip with us. Can't imagine how much time and effort it takes to create such an outstanding video. Love the footage of High Falls...gorgeous!!
That was amazing the most that you saw in credible footage, God-bless you greatly with that beautiful sighting, And your attitude on this trip no matter what happens is really refreshing and makes it so enjoyable. Thank you
“Can you guys do something for my shot… you’re just… standing.” 😂😂 Another great video Jon. Thanks for using your position to project the voice of nature and conservation, and also a huge thank you for linking the video to the Native journey along this route from 2016. Cheers!
Love your content bro! Very in depth and heartwarming how much others love nature. I agree us as humans need to make a big change and sacrifice just a tiny bit of our daily comforts to truly make the earth a little more better for the generations of children to come so they can enjoy the beauty as much as us😊 thank you again and see you on the next adventure👍
Love the channel , wish i was with on those adventures catching walleyes , i applaud you brother , you have endurance like no other , keep up the videos , can't get enough of them !!
I grieve for our planet every day. Thank you for your ending statement. Just the simple sounds of the paddle going in and out of the water and the quiet crackling of your camp fires calms my soul.
Your narrations, especially at 1:35:10, really struck a chord with me. It’s hard for me to explain exactly what a wilderness trip does for me mentally and emotionally, but you summed it up pretty darn well. Great video, as always.
Thanks so much Kevin! I've been struggling for a long time to put that thing into words without it sounding too mushy, and this still isn't perfect but I guess it sums it up for me. There's incredible healing power to being out there
That was so enjoyable to watch. Amazing scenery, editing....it was like watching a movie. I watched with my wife and boys and we kept saying how cool it was that you would take this footage and capture this all so we could enjoy it as well. Thanks so much Jon for doing that! You’ve got a keeper there with Erin...she was so gracious when you told her about losing the fishing net. “It happens to the best of us.”
Thank you Island Man & Fam!! To me, it's cool that your family would deem it worth watching together...I love that, so thanks for sharing as always :) Hahah she's so sweet....hopefully she rubs off on me 😜
What an AWESOME Adventure Jon ,, the waterfalls were amazing ,, mixed weather ,, wildlife and beautiful location ....So blessed to be able to take it all in .... Thank. You for sharing .... And YES ,, for the salvation of these lands ,,it is the responsibility of ALL to respect and care for the lands we love,,play and live our lives .. ..... Stay Safe and God Bless .....
Almost stopped 5 minutes in to say "You got a new net!" but decided that would have sounded snarky towards Erin. Now I'm paused at 20:00 to say I'm glad I didn't say anything earlier. That shit can happen to anybody, including me. (Yes, even me!!) I casually tossed a nice Fenwick ultralight rod and sweet Shimano reel forward in my boat and don't ask me how John, but it went boing boing clank against the gunwale and then over the side. 35 feet deep at that point. Okay back to the video. This is great so far. Your channel has become my favorite.
Hahaha oh noo---painful isn't it? To work against yourself with clumsiness or forgetfulness 🤦♂️ Like Erin said, it happens to the best of us 😂 Thanks so much Schmutzle!!!
Great afterword talk, I love that you are suck a responsible camper and teaching other to do the same. We all need to protect out beautiful amazing planet.
sooooo I have really bad insomnia, and I just wanna say you and your videos have helped me with calming my mind. I'm fully invested in watching the back catalogue while you heal up your knee. I hope all is well and physical therapy gets ya back outside again.
Thanks so much for this, John. What a treat for a quiet Friday night. I've lived relatively near this river for much of my life and hadn't seen the entirety of its awesomeness until now. Thanks for sharing your passion and advocacy. Much better than the new Borat movie.
Such an enjoyable video with the meditative comments, the beaver footage, the swans taking flight, the loggers lookout, the school of trout, the cool clay formations with caves, the grunting moose, the cute Dorito grin, the lovely welcoming party and the message on the environment. Well done, my son!
Thanks so much Mom 💗 Couldn't have asked for a better ending to the trip, with three moose at my camp and the best welcoming party a guy could ask for :)
OMG......soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy to see this and I'm 27 seconds in!! Can't wait for the remaining 2 hours...good Lord!!! TY John & Erin!!
It's videos and trips like these that make me glad to be studying environmental science. I chose that because I want future generations to enjoy nature as much as you do.
I have never looked upon Nature as an escape from reality. Nature IS the reality. It is our real home, and the cities and social structure we impose upon Nature are what is unreal. It is a demonstration of how much we have created a false world that we would think of being in Nature as "escapism". It's actually a return home. Anyways, I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
The swans taking flight against the fall backdrop is just amazingly beautiful. It doesn't get more "natural" than that. What a beautifully edited video, and some very raw wilderness. Well done sir.
True story while camping at Mosky Basin On Isl Royale I blew my nose so loud people sprung from their Adirondack shelters expecting a moose sighting. My friend and I laughed so hard. Guess I better be careful blowing the honker. Awesome Trek. A lot of humility in this one many thanks, Cheers
Thank you so much for not only documenting what looks like a great trip but also for sharing some of the underlying philosophy behind what motivates you to get out there. We live in strange times, and the wilderness reset is more important than ever right now. I hope everyone can get out and experience wildness and natural beauty, but if they can't, you have given them the next best thing. Cheers!
You are adding much to other’s lives by thoughtfully documenting your expeditions... people that can’t venture out for many reasons, and people that won’t venture out because of fear and anxiety, can enjoy your endeavors! Appreciate your humility, honesty, and zeal for nature! Keep paddling strong my friend!
I have just read your comment and it made me cry… thats exactly me, im terrified to leave my bed with anxiety’s and depression.. heart palpitations etc. its my only life now watching these vlogs. Thank you my friend for understanding…. 😢 xxxx
Awesome video John. The drone footage takes it to another level. Owning a few i appreciate the extra effort i know it takes to bring it along and charge batteries and wait for GPS signal. Its worth it in the end for the birds eye view 😍
Thanks a lot Peter! Hahah it always does take a while to make the GPS icon go green. I find I have to calibrate the compass a lot too...almost every time I use it
I Can't convey how the waterfall footage at 1:03:50 & the accompanying music affected me! The music was perfect with your absolutely brilliant filming expertise! It was just so perfectly matched! Then how perfect, the music ended & you let the roaring music of the waterfall complete the score! I am so impressed at your talent, tenacity, & love of pristine beauty of all the lakes and wilderness! ooooh almost made me cry!! Thank You SO much John!

Hey Dalton, thanks for the feedback! It's on my radar but haven't gotten to it quite yet. In part because I've only been doing it for two seasons so I'm far from an expert at this point :) In the meantime, I recommend Kevin Outdoors' videos on the subject---they're great.
God bless you.
hey Erin is an educated ,independent woman. You dump on her and give yourself a pass and soon youèll be packing your bags

@@LostLakes anyone throwing shade at you after watching this awesome video is not a good person in my view. I loved every single minute of it bud.

Hahah can't blame you, but thanks for giving it a chance and for the kind words Catharina! :) That's the plan!!
I totally agree loved the video and I would love to find a woman like her !!
It's so ironic how good of a feeling you get, being open and alone in the wild, all while knowing or not , that the environment your in, does not care at all about you and your feelings.
True that. I like to say that nature needs our respect, but weather....weather demands our respect. Weather can be merciless
Gorgeously filmed. Love your love of nature and your message was spot on. Both of you are a joy to watch. Thank you.
Thanks so much Kath!!
I wish my anxiety and mental health was going to get better so I could do something with my life like this instead of being bed bound. Your vlogs have shown me there is life and beautiful things, rain, snow and sun outside these four walls .. thank you xx
So much beauty out there. Hope you can get a little dose of nature soon. Even sitting in an urban park or by a stream if you can
I struggle with not being physically able to do things I used to do, since suffering a neck injury in 2015 which has lead to me losing strength in both my arms, on top of chronic pain caused by occipital neuralgia and cervical stenosis.

@@LostLakes True that.. VERY well said Jon
LOVE the long, epic, solo river trips Jon. This one was the best yet. Your videography and editing keep getting better and better. The addition of the occasional narration is a nice touch too. How you don't have 500K + subscribers by now is beyond me. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you so much Stephen!! 🙂🙂
😂
Cheers.
Spot on Matt. Thanks so much!
A Friday night with yourself and Joe's trip, loving it,
I was going to say the same thing, episode 2 of Joe's video and a BAO full length episode, very cool! 👍
Another wonderful filmed and narrated adventure. Glad to see you integrating a double ender into paddling solo, saves the wrists, great in a headwind, harder on shoulders. R.I.P. another net.
Thanks so much Steve! Game-changer for me
I am immensely grateful you said what you did in this video.
Much appreciated!! I really prefer being able to watch things on my terms and my schedule as well, so I think I'll go for this approach more often :)
There are a couple audio credits in the description. I think this refers to the music?
Wishing you a good day 🙂

Yeah. Here's a brief article on the environmental platforms:

The swans taking flight against the fall backdrop is just amazingly beautiful. It doesn't get more "natural" than that. What a beautifully edited video, and some very raw wilderness. Well done sir.
Great highlight to pick out...that was pretty to watch. Thanks a lot GF85!!
Amazing video as always! Love how you capture everything! Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks David!!!
😆😆 Thanks Jim!
well done, well filmed, what a laugh at he end with the net
Hahah thanks a lot WW! 😅
Great video as always. Thank you for taking us with you.
Thanks a bunch Hannah! Thanks for coming with :)
Great job...awesome trip. 👍
Thanks a lot Darcy!
Cheers!
gonna have to add this to my bucket list, those falls look amazing! Also you should invest in some good waterproof pants.
Totally should...they've been on my list for a while so maybe this winter I'll finally dive in!
Really appreciate that Scott!!
This trip is true therapy for me. Good medicine for the soul even. Thanks 🤩
Put a float on that net!😉
Beautiful vid as always..
Actually had one this time lol, just had no idea how far back it was. Thanks Bob!
@@LostLakes I lost the same net about 10 yrs ago in Algonquin. I didn't have a float....
Btw, really impressed with your videography! Looks really slick. Government should pay you for promoting Ontario!
@@Bikerbobber hahaha sign me up for that! Thanks a lot Bob!!
fantastic video! watching this morning while the ground covered in snow...
Perfect atmosphere to put yourself there :) Thanks powrider!!
Good to see the old canoe being used again! I'm surprised she didn't throw you out when you pulled out the Devil's Double though, lol.
She was like a wild stallion at first....but she saw the double blade and was subdued by the raw power of it. There's just something about handcrafted wood trim and a carbon fibre double blade that feels like a natural fit. I'm sure you would agree 😂
Hi Pete. I am 59, and could not agree more about the crazies. I fear for coming generations, suppose though, they must find their own way.
I look forward to your videos, all of them, and RUclips would not be the same without you.
Man it doesn't look comfortable being permanently soaked through. I've done scuba and been dryer. 🤣 Incredible adventure, really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing 👍🏽🙏🏽
Hahaha yeah I have a feeling I'll invest in a dry suit someday and wonder why I didn't sooner. Thanks AGO!!
What an amazing video John, brilliant film. Look forward to seeing the next one.
Thanks a lot MrYoko! :)
"I lost a couple things" ...Erin knew right away! LMAO
Had to be the net 😂😂😂
What an awesome trip. Thanks for sharing. Erin is a keeper for sure!
Thanks a lot Michael! Got that right :)
Hey Jon, I was just wondering if you can make a video on your dehydrated meals; even a small post about the recipes on Instagram would be greatly appreciated. Please and thank you!
Hey Dalton, thanks for the feedback! It's on my radar but haven't gotten to it quite yet. In part because I've only been doing it for two seasons so I'm far from an expert at this point :) In the meantime, I recommend Kevin Outdoors' videos on the subject---they're great. This website helped me a lot too:

I second this. It’s something I’m always intrigued about during your videos. Would love to see the process from start to finish.
@@LostLakes Thank you!
Agree...would be interested in seeing your dehydrating and recipes Jon. Also agree with checking out Kevin Outdoors for dehydrating recipes. Eagerly awaiting Kevin's cookbook...
Awesome I felt I was with you all the way. I use to work on that river as a river driver. Thanks for taking me with you, my age, it would be hard for me to do that trip. You took me through many good memories of my younger days as a young man working on the river. Chi Meegwitch, thank you.

Wow very interesting Roger...bet you've got some tales to tell about it. Sounds like it was a beloved job here at the time. Thank you!
