Just when Stephanie has a chance for a happy, healthy relationship with a man who loves her, she has dinner with her philandering ex-husband? It seems that the writers on this show would not allow anyone to experience happiness and peace, even for a minute.
I think they really didn't want steph to be happy. She rarely had other chances. The writers told Susan flannery, who wanted many different men for stephanie, that steph has always to love Eric.
I know it sucks but their problems is what keeps the show going through so when I get mad because some of them can't stay together I remind myself of this 😅

True. Eric has the advantage of behaving in a "gentlemanly" fashion in the way he gives women attention. But if you look at what he actually does he is not a good husband. He gets bored in a marriage (of course, "malaise" is the word he'd use because it sounds more sophisticated) and looks elsewhere.

Your point is valid, though. And Eric clearly demonstrates that he can control the narrative with Stephanie, and she is allowing him. I guess despite Jack's presence in her life, she will never truly let go... not yet.

And when he was married to Stephanie he was dating Beth and then sleeping with Brooke. And of course he had not yet divorced Brooke when he started dating Sheila, only Brooke actually didn't care. It's like when he's been married for a while, boredom sets in and he starts looking elsewhere for someone to sweep off her feet with his gentlemanly demeanor.

Eric is playing with Stephanie's emotions. He is the worst. Everything and all is always about Eric. He cares about nobody, but himself. I never understood why anyone would describe him as a good, kind, decent, loving and caring (family /gentle) man. He is none of that. Never was, is or will be. He was always a cheater, liar and hypocrit. Steph needed so long of finding a new man and accepting that Eric and her only friends. He is fooling around with her. Sadly, she allows him to do it. He always gave mixed signals and encouraged her thoughts about getting back together.

Stephanie, you should have allowed Eric to divorce you much earlier - you might have avoided some drama and Eric still might have reunited with you, after learning that the gras is not really much greener on the other side (with another woman).
Depends on what advise Taylor is focusing on. Focusing on her vulnerable marriage and finding a replacement to represent the paper, could have been a good advice. Taylor is not really a researcher, who has to represent new discoveries (or is she? - Taylor: I helped a man to realize that he had made up a mother and a girlfriend, to deal with his mother's death in childbirth and that his father has blamed him since he was a baby). Stopping Taylor from dropping _that bomb : "Ridge, I thought we were going to die and so I had to fulfill James's wish to not die without having ever experienced sex with a woman."_ on her husband and then Taylor running off to that psychiatry conference for 4 days, might have saved Taylor's marriage (at least for several years).

Shes too busy taking care of her mother whom she normally treats horribly ,and wasn’t even invited to her wedding to Eric…Eric was Sheila’s life and her mother was as good as dead to her before.I would believe the mending fences with Molly if Sheila was still in touch with Eric,but to believe she barely spoke to him during her time away is unbelievable.

I really dont know what this whole storyline round Taylor is: they show her more and more desperate and weak. The former seasons she " served" ridge and played always the nice and understandable wife, then this annoying scotland trip, then the big bear betray and as i understand soon comes a plane crash and she starts a life in marocco?? I dont like it how the writers show another woman desperate cause of ridge.... a waste of talent of the actress and the storyline in my mind gets weirder and weirder..
