good point! if you mix oil in rice like in this recipe ruclips.net/video/K6qLA7okTHM/видео.html, rice won't get hard! this is a well known trick tho it adds a bit extra calories 😅speaking of nori, it gets soggy anyway if you carry around for over an hour, so i would keep it in the fridge together.
I use similar kinds of onigiri wrappers and I always make them the night before but my nori hasn't been soggy before. It was always nice and crunchy :) Something you can also do is prepare the Onigiti and wrap it right before you leave. The oil trick is super helpful though!
+1up4u not only konbini but we don't know many other foods including the famous burgers, you know... just make sure you don't eat the same thing every day, in general. hehe
Your daughter is just so cute! I started watching your channel last year because of all of the cute bento ideas I saw and wanted to make them for my 5 year old. I can only imagine what amazing bento your daughter will have as she grows up! Thank you for making such creative things and sharing them with us! Your channel is awesome! Just felt the need to say thank you.
Thank you! I became addicted to these while visiting my daughter, who lives in Japan; she lived near a konbini, and I ate one of these every day. Now that I'm back home in the U.S., I have to make them because they're not available here.
OMG I NEED ONE! ^-^ I don't have a konbini, and I can't find any at my local Asian supermarket, so these will be nice to have one day if I can ever find them
here in germany, in berlin I know we also have onigiri packed like that in some convenience stores, mostly organic, filled with avocado and limejuice which also is veeeery goood :)
Omgosh Thank YOU!!! I can't wait to make this I've been seeing this everywhere on videos on Japan and Korea convience stores and I tried make a similar version with smoked salmon and brown rice which was delicious but the seaweed was seapak for sushi and not crispy like yours!
Great video. I now know how to make Onigiri but more importantly how to open the packet. I started eating these when I went to Japan. The 7-Eleven had some great flavours. On a side note I'm amazed at how intricate and beautiful the sandwiches in Japan are. And I lost count on how many different types of beer they have. I even tried a Tomato flavoured beer! Oh, and don't get me started on talking about how amazing the toilets are. I miss Japan!
We FINALLY started carrying nori sheets at the grocery store I work at! So since I'm dealing with cooking my meals on an insanely tight budget for the next few months, I think I'm going to give making onigiri a shot.
in korea they sell the nori with the wrapper and also they have the triangle mold so its super easier and faster to make this ^^ im addicted to those cute rice balls. my all time favorite is tuna mayo!!
I know this triangle food when i watched RunningMan, the ep where Kwangsoo got the lowest rank and get to to eat the worst thing.. And he get this food.. And i thought its seaweed and rice ONLY! i never know it has filling inside.. i want to try!!!! 😊 Thanks for making this videoo
When I visited Japan for the first time, one of the first things I bought was onigiri from a convenience store, and it came wrapped like this. Before I watched this video, I didn't know that the wrapper actually isolated the nori from the rice and filling. I thought it was just an outer wrapper. I ate it and I had no idea.
Hellooooo.. So happy to discover this particular video. I thought kombini onigiri is impossible to make. I am actually about to make some in other way.
Went to Kyoto last March.. Bought some onigiri at 7eleven and family mart.. I like it a lot!!!! X) I tried to buy at Japanese Restaurant in Indonesia but it's different :( I'll try your recipe.. Thanks a lot!!! X)
The first time I bought this, I didn't bother reading the instructions. I almost ate the plastic wrapper because I was so hungry from skipping breakfast and lunch that I didn't care to open it properly! LOL
i learned alot watching your video's i just want to ask the food styler tools is there a website online so i could buy one really want to try it out for my kids seens my wife past away 2yrs ago i usually do all the cooking wanted to style the food i make i hope you reply Thanks☺
Last time I went to Japan I bought some Onigiris from Konbini (Family Mart; awesome place!!) and I messed up when trying to open the packaging XD Tearing the nori away with the plastic T_T I really really loved the natto flavoured one!! Love Japan lots ♥
I love making and eating onigiri ... I only shape my onigiri by hand because #1 it tastes better somehow ... #2 I won't be eating toxin. I highly suggest that if you are planning to use Surrround Wrap to shape your onigiri, instead of directly on your hand ... Make sure your rice is completely cooled with no warmth on the rice, then put your rice on the Surround Wrap to shape ... Surround Wrap has one of the highest plastic toxicity when in contact with warm or hot foods compare to plastic dishes or utensils with Recycled 5 labels. Please be careful and happy cooking :D
Is it possible to store them in the fridge the night before? Will the rice turned hard? Or the seaweed turned soggy?

I've heard that you can freeze them and then heat them up with the microwave to prevent rice from getting hard.
where did u buy the wrappers? pls and ty @@laurawollner9353
Konbini onigiri was what I mostly ate during my trip to japan lol. I always had one in my bag for snacks, and I never went hungry because of it!
These are so awesome. Whoever invented them deserves a gold star.
ありがとうございます、オチケロン‼︎ ever since I left Japan, I've been craving konbini onigiri like crazy!!! now I can make it!!!

But many of my friends told me that they put lots of chemicals in konbini food... I wonder if it is true...
+1up4u not only konbini but we don't know many other foods including the famous burgers, you know... just make sure you don't eat the same thing every day, in general. hehe
+ochikeron
Good advice. Thanks for your reply.
+ochikeron i have, when i was in japan! my favourite one was the one with tamago and tonkatsu in it from 7/11 :D
I have, I miss it. Salmon was my favorite.
those wrappers are so cool! and I think the best part about making your own is that you can make the filling however you like :D
+Nataliya Yordanova i think so, too :)

普段は、鮭もフレークとかでぱぱっと済ませちゃうけど、焼き鮭でつくるのも美味しそう〜❢今度作って見ます!
海苔がパリパリのもいいですよね〜
I did not know what it was possible to make these that is pretty cool like that!
Yes I ate them before. It's great idea to make ourselves and put however much filling we want!
Chinese convenience stores had these too, sold them for only $0.30. Gosh I miss eating these.
OMG So that how it works! That packaging is the amazing idea!!
Thank you! I became addicted to these while visiting my daughter, who lives in Japan; she lived near a konbini, and I ate one of these every day. Now that I'm back home in the U.S., I have to make them because they're not available here.
Triangular nori wrapped onigiri looked so TASTY, That's it, I need to make some of my own at home!
Those wrappers would be so useful. I hope they are at the daiso I go to.

OMG, so cute!
i love onigiri
This looks amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us :) I love your videos! xo
