    I have the 6 foot 10 Light version paired with VE II. Perfect power BFS when I need to reach further places! Beautiful rod as well.
    I like how tapered the rod is. The rod tip is actually thinner than my Purelure Creekdance. Crazy!
    I wish they make a UL/ shorter version of it. It’s gonna replace my creek dance for sure.
    Nice video btw! Nice spot!

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  2 месяца назад

      Thanks mate..yea I have the Creek Dance too, I like to have a reel with less line in that one to better cast the light lures and a bit more line on the Cedan. VE2 Pro seems like a banger

    • @bedokboy
      @bedokboy 2 месяца назад +1

      @@yep.fishing I’m doing the same exact thing. The dance with Acura for smaller fish and quick games. Cedan for when I’m expecting bigger fish or where I really need to throw the lure!
      I have the non pro version though. Haha. It delivers on the heavier lures. Anything below 2 gram is a bit tricky. But it’s for power bfs. So suits the purpose.

    • @bedokboy
      @bedokboy 2 месяца назад +1

      @@yep.fishing it’s a little wee bit geary. But it’s not that unacceptable or noticeable at all for me. But I feel it being smooth really.

    • @yep.fishing

    WoW! Nice brown brother. Pure Lure definitely one of the top tier CDM rod manufacturers alongside Tsurnoya. Are you in NZ? That looks like it could be California. We have endemic Eucalyptus trees here as well. It’s like you guys are our Southern Hemi counterpart. Too cool! By the way, extra line guides are overrated on anything less than 7 feet in my opinion. Especially on a bfs rod, you want to keep it light and on the shorter side anyway. Love the videos! Cheers!! 🍻

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  29 дней назад +1

      Thanks :) Guess again! I’m about 3HRS west of Melbourne, Australia on the coast. Lots of koalas. On many rods though the line touches the blank in a few spots or even cuts across going underneath. That accuracy angle between 2 guides can’t be good. Thanks for watching

    • @kennethfriedl3428
      @kennethfriedl3428 29 дней назад +1

      @@yep.fishing That’s awesome! There is something familiar about the landscape there, yet it’s different. Great weather for fishing all year long. Yeah, if the line is rubbing the blank when under load then you definitely need extra line guides.
      Do you guys have Rainbow Trout too?

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  29 дней назад +1

      Yes rainbows, tiger, cheetah and some brook. But 90% or more of all trout are browns and rainbows. The rainbows came originally from NZ via Lake Tahoe. There’s a fun fact.

    • @kennethfriedl3428
      @kennethfriedl3428 29 дней назад +1

      @@yep.fishing I know. Well I didn’t know it was Lake Tahoe specifically, but Rainbows are naturally endemic to the Pacific Coast of North America. If you find them anywhere else in the world (including the Atlantic Coast of the United States) then they were introduced by man. Here’s another fun fact. Brown trout are originally from Eurasia. Here in Southern California when it comes to trout we are almost exclusively rainbows, with the exception of Lake Trout up in Big Bear Lake and some Brown Trout in the Santa Ana River. But if you know which rivers to fish for Native (not bred by man for restocking) Rainbow Trout you will find that the Native Rainbows look a lot different from the Rainbows most trout anglers are used to catching. The wild rainbows are smaller and more colorful. They look very similar to their cousins the Japanese Yamame. The native Rainbow Trout look totally different than the stocked rainbows. And they are smarter and fight harder. I’m surprised to hear you guys have brook trout. We don’t even have any here in the Southern part of Cali. You gotta go way up north where the temps are cooler to find brookies. Cheers mate! 🍻

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  29 дней назад

      Yea the brookies here I think are only in some famous trout spots in the alpine areas. Most rainbows I’ve caught are stocked but there are lakes where they breed. The brown in this video was stocked once upon a time, apparently the substrate in this system isn’t good for the egg laying. I have caught some yamame looking stocked rainbows actually in that they have a lot of colour and big spots but most of them are pretty bland and silver. Once per year 50 or so monster rainbows are stocked in some metro lakes…ugly looking at the massive size, old breeders I guess

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  2 месяца назад +1

      With those types of rods you may need to adjust your casting stroke. With slower rods you will need a slower smoother stroke whereas faster rods you can do a quick flick because only the tip is loading. Hope this helps. Additionally you can add .5mm magnets to strengthen the brakes if required.

      Most definitely a noodle type rod does cause backlash. Those rods are best with a heavy braking reels. You need a fast rod if you throw hard. I had the same problem with the hicc50 pro reel.

      For me, I think my main gripe is the high price tag, I don't really trust Chinese made rods as much I do with established brands. Probably whimsical since major brands are all china made as well..

    • @yep.fishing
      @yep.fishing  2 месяца назад

      @@grantmacdonald6109 there are only a couple of Chinese brands that I would risk spending this much on and the Tsurinoya and Purelure. The cheaper you go the more you roll the dice but are obviously taking less risk. I'm sure this rod will come down in price over time too.
