I spent the extra dough on getting the dual propane cart stand for the forge, since I have to forge outside. Makes transport easy..yay centaur forge. The trap door out back is great for long items and heat management. It does need a workrest, but I use a metal rolling material feed.
That's such a nice forge. I came across it when researching forges a few years ago. That whole line of Whisper Forges looks pretty awesome, and seeing your's in action reinforces that thought even more. I'm excited to see how it holds up in the years to come and look forward to watching you create your wares while using it. That dragon should pay for itself in no time at all! Also, congratulations on the birth of your child! I'm glad all are doing well, especially your wife after pushing out that little chunkers... she's hardcore!!! 😊
I have the same forge, and I love it! I did paint the door and walls with refractory freeze, to prevent stray fibers. I forged today in fact! Leaf hooks were the theme of the day.
Pleased your business is progressing in the right direction. The forge looks great, I’m sure it will be a big asset in your workshop.Regards from Down Under.
I have a Chile forge and use an extra half inch refractory shelf on the bottom when I need to flux. So far it does not look too bad. If the shelf gets beat up I can just get another shelf.
I was really surprised by how tall it is compared to others that I saw on centaurforge. Thanks for making this video as getting a professional opinion on it was awesome.
Very cool forge and I'm sure it will work out great for you! My favorite of your forges is the single burner. I'm going to make myself another forge sometime in the near future and going to do a double that is well insulated with a good door. I'm tired of the pieces of fire brick being my door.
Nice. I have a Whisper Mama and use it for the majority of my work. Very pleased with NC Tool stuff. They do make bigger forges. I have their 6 burner forge which I plan to be cremated and buried in. It's great for bigger blacksmithing projects. It has a center valve so it can be used as a 3 burner or 6 burner. No side door, however.
I purchased the whisper momma I used it through 5 Damascus knife projects. I was not very happy with its performance at all. One of the big issues was the sidewall insulation started to degrade around the bottom perimeter and the sheet metal body started to warp around its outlets. I ended up building my own forge and it’s been in use for six years with out a single issue. Personally I feel the whisper momma was not made for anything else but horse shoeing. I would like to see what happens when you are heating up materials for one of your hammer projects, I just don’t believe they are built for projects that are thick with more mass that needs a lot of heat.
I used flux in the smaller one for 7 years and didn't have issues withe the bottom, and I never got any on the sides. Be careful on the sides and top as if you rub them with your tools or material they go fast.
Have you ever thought of going to a ribbon burner with forced air? I heard for someone that does production work like you do it's a lot more efficient on propane
I’d like to find out your experience with the NC Forge when you try forge welding in it because I’ve heard they lack in that respect. I’ve got a lot of respect for NC Tools, they generally make some really durable stuff so I’m genuinely interested in the outcome
Also you can add a stainless steel tray to your forge when you forge weld so the flux is captured on the tray and not the floor eating the lining then when you are done use a pair of tongs to pick the tray up to remove it and once it cools off the crud breaks up off the tray really easy
It’s hard to tell for sure on video but it looks like that was normal white plumbing tape, you want yellow tape for gas lines, the white tape is only for water lines.
Congrats on the new addition to the family.
Congratulations on the new baby boy
Dude i like the new intro! CONGRATULATIONS! to having a new baby boi! I wish you success and happiness!
Congratulations on the birth of your son, congratulations to your wife as well!
Oh! I used sheffield pottery for my firebricks and refractory fixative. They also have super high heat bricks. Worth a look.
Cool, I've heard of them thanks for the tip

Congrats "daddy"! 😜🤝 forge looks awesome, centaur is a good outfit, I've patronized them on a few things, my first was a NC 70 lbs short sugar anvil.
Congrats on your son 👍🌞.

@@peltiereric6497 I plan not to use flux in this forge. It's really hard on all forge linings
