Just goes to show how stupid & biased the Oscars are. They are an absolute joke. They did the same thing to Leonardo Dicaprio for his roles in Django Unchained & Wolf of Wall Street, movies he should have EASILY won Oscars for. But because they were controversial movies, he didn't win. Absolutely idiotic.
Boss baby was good, But it was for kids and adults. There's noway kids would understand this one except for boss baby since it got soo many funny scenes except for being depressing asf every second
"Your name" movie was released in the same year with this movie. When i watched "Your name" i thought there isn't better movie than "Your name" in that year. But 8 years later, when i'm 17, i thinks i was wrong, this movie is really the best in that year and in all of the time.
when you realize that Shoya was the silent one, Shoko was deaf but communicated with others, and Shoya had the hearing, but was too scared to speak. so Shoya is the silent voice. I like this movie, you learn loads of good lessons and it show us Shoya navigate trough is social anxiety and depression.
I picked up this anime cuz it was free to stream on a site and I desperately wanted to watch smth. I was a broke boy yk. Dropped it when Ishida started ignoring people and there were crosses on their faces. Kinda annoying to me so I dropped it. Rewatched 2 days ago and I pressed through that part. Saw the ending, I really was too young to understand.
When I first watched this, I was 10 years old. Most of my friends found it quite boring, but I found it really heartwarming and deep, because I had been bullied my entire school years and struggled with suicidal thoughts. Watching this movie after so many years has really unburied so many old memories, good and bad. (sorry for venting y’all)
I actually just found this movie (English dub sadly) on RUclips yesterday and watched it. It's really good! At first I thought Shoya was just a jerk, but learning a bit more, I actually found myself sympathizing with the poor guy. And Shoko's sweet smile and charming innocence was always adorable to me. She's such a pure soul 🤍 They really captured the essence of deafness well, especially with including her impared speach and the fact that she can hear to some muffled extent, due to her hearing aids. Loved the edit! ❤
@@JLLullaby I never said I don't not like it. However, just like several others, I prefer Japanese sub version, because I feel that it's better to watch it in the native language. I’ve watched this movie 3 times in different age ranges 6-7 - thought it was a romance anime 8-9 - understood it wasn’t a romance anime, but didn’t relate much 11-12 - felt a whole wave of emotions, now that I finally understood it shows how much your mind can mature over the years
This was my first anime movie. I've really lost count how many times I've cried watching this. This movie is oscarworthy and deserves more recognition. One of THE best movies ever made.
I cried around 3-5 times, but one part had be ballin', when shoya was just being rude to everyone on the bridge cause he wasnt thinking right, and that just made me so sad cause i have lost friends the same way, recently reunited with them after rewatching this.
I was going through depression when I watched this film, coincidentally for the same reason as the protagonist, the mistakes of my past haunted me. The film made me see this in a different way, I started trying to redeem myself, accept my mistakes and move on. 😅I found my resemblance to the protagonist funny, I have someone deaf participating in my life just like him, my mother. That said: This is cinema! ☝️☝️☝️🦅🦅
I was in elementary when this movie dropped, everyone was talking about it. When one of my friends told me about the plot of the movie, I was really confused and uninterested so I didn't bother watching it. Six years later, I decided to watch it because I suddenly remembered about it. Man, let's just say, I didn't regret it watching it.

That saying "lift up and never give up" totally represents this wonderful movie. Whenever I see an edit of this, I remember the moments spent watching it, and the way in which the anime played the emotions and allowed the change of a hopeless man into one who loves himself, fantastic!
This emotional film hits hard just like the line "The anime started off with the main Character being depressed and ended with the viewers being depressed"
it really took me legit 2 years to understand, the silent voice, or a silent voice, is really something everyone should watch, with trauma, or not, it really teaches you something. (yay almost 12th birthday on 23rd of april! and i just realised lol!)
I had a hard time watching movies because i get bored fast. But for A Silent Voice, i was so invested that i forgot about my surroundings, i was so focused on the movie and i love it so much.
