In todays episode we are fixing a coolant leak by replacing the plastic coolant temp sensor housing with an aluminum housing. When doing this job, it is a good idea it replace the thermostat housing as well. Also recommend putting in new coolant when doing this job.

I think I have my answer with this video. My first car I have is a vw 02 Jetta sedan and I been driving it for 4 months it has a coolent leak now I know I would tell my mechanic to check that out. Thanks very helpfully videos!! 😊😊❤
Awesome video thank you man. This vid had the best lighting and camera work for this job that I've seen. Very helpful
Cheers Cole, great video! I broke the thermostat housing yesterday when replacing the ignition coil of a Skoda Octavia of the same generation so I'll have to replace that. Always good to someone else do it first, very helpful man!
I believe this task is is in my future so just wanted to say great job on providing lots of detail from start to finish.
I really appreciate you for making this video. It is exactly the problem that I am having with my 2004 New Beetle, 2.0 engine. It took a while to figure out where the radiator fluid was coming out. The smell was easily detectable well in advance of finding the location of the leak. The housing split along a seam in the casting. I imagine the extremely cold weather we had last year was at least partially responsible for the crack. I don't believe I had the correct blend of antifreeze in the system even though the car had been worked on by a reputable foreign car repair company. Cheers.
Really useful video! I have an 03 Jetta which had the same problem, and I was putting it off for way too long. The coolant temp sensor housing on my car was brittle and actually broke when I was pulling off the large hose! Everything's back together now, and I'm really glad I finally did it. Thanks, man!
Great video! Thanks a ton my guy.
That fixed my really bad coolant leak! Thanks for the video and that saves me loads of money from taking it to the garage and i thought it was the head gasket!
