Lyrics:
take what you've got, give it away. nothing belonged to you in the first place. if they're all us and we're all them, then it's like trading between your own hands. i thought i had it figured out. one day it all went missing. i spent the night stuck wide awake, my thoughts all so dissonant. started thinking maybe i was living wrong. i took my head off for the night, didn't want to believe it. i started spending more time being mindful of my breathing, sleeping on the floor feeling so withdrawn. since i was young i have been told how i should measure success. work hard and you can have a life of luxury and excess. i was walking blind when i tripped and fell. maybe it doesn't matter if i give you or you give me. i'm wondering if those are both different parts of one thing. really now it's all that it ever was. you and me thinking it's us and them. can you see that all the difference is pretend? you always get higher with someone else than if you try to climb up all by yourself.

such a spiritually grounding track. i live for this positive, vibey shit.
Heard this song playing on Independent radio station from Boulder, CO... I had to pull over. The melody floored me. Thank you for posting this song.
Thats awesome!!
It’s lovely. Compared to their previous album it’s like the sun came out and shined on these dudes and made them look up from their shoes a little. Plus no Eric S on guitar
No this was the last release he was on!
@@michaelwatson3592 oh really? I can hear him then, on the leads, doing the loopy kinda Peter Buck / Johnny Marr arpeggios
I should mention that I LOVE Peripheral Vision
@@tattoofthesun you can hear his playing style for sure especially in songs like sunshine type, butterfly dream, breeze and pure devotion. Songs like breeze and new scream where the guitars play off each other so beautifully like that was definitely and Austin & Eric thing. I don't think you'll hear that again unfortunately.
@@michaelwatson3592 so bummmed about that...say what u will about Eric but he was a fundamental sound to the band and talented as fuck
That chorus though.
these lyrics are heavenly
Honestly, my favorite fucking song.
Like holy shit it's so fucking good
Heard "take what you've got" and automatically put this on my playlist lol
one of the best songs off the album!
0:48 to 0:53 gives me such a warm felling of euphoria
This album is euphoric
My favorite lyrics on the entire album.
i hear so much George Harrison influence in this song
Favorite song on the album
New album on point.
the vocal melody reminds me of the beatles stuff but I can't remember what it is..
Somewhere, two kids are tripping on LSD listening to this amazing album ✨
Kids messing up their heads with drugs while listening to a song about having nothing sounds like some dystopian shit lol
Molly, but yes absolutely
beautiful vibes
This really reminds me of savant's protos album especially the vocals, they sound really similar
2:42
Take what you've got
Give it away
Nothing belonged to you in the first place
If they're all us
And we're all them
Then it's like trading between your own hands
I thought I had it figured out, one day it all went missing
I spent the night stuck wide awake, my thoughts all so dissonant
Started thinking maybe I was living wrong
I took my head off for the night, didn't want to believe it
I started spending more time being mindful of my breathing
Sleeping on the floor and feeling so withdrawn
Take what you've got
Give it away
Nothing belonged to you in the first place
If they're all us
And we're all them
Then it's like trading between your own hands
Since I was young I have been told how I should measure success
"Work hard and you can have a life of luxury and excess"
I was walking by when I tripped and fell
Maybe it doesn't matter if I give you all you give me
I'm wondering if those are both different parts of one thing
Maybe now it's all that it ever was
You and me, thinking it's us and them
Can you see that all the difference is pretend?
You always get higher with someone else
Than if you try to climb up all by yourself
Take what you've got
Give it away
Nothing belonged to you in the first place
If they're all us
And we're all them
Then it's like trading between your own hands
Reminds me of the Stone Roses
sounds 80's
It sounds like a Parekh and Singh song.
Great song but the hippie lyrics are pretty dopey lol
Listen to this album, by yourself, while taking a micro dose of molly... you wont regret it
