Motorola phones are so underrated. So much better than Samsung. Google Pixel and Motorola are the best Android phones IMO
Imagine if this phone had snapdragon 778g with 5000mah battery and a headphone jack, then this would be the bestselling moto midrange ever.

The Neo is one of the better looking midrange smartphone with a really nice display. That being said, a slightly more powerful processor would make it even more competitive!
I agree, it has the exact same processor as the Moto G82, but it does have more RAM, much improved charging tech, and I would say that the design of the Moto Edge 30 Neo is definitely classy. Is it worth the extra cost though? There are many reasons to consider it over the Moto G82, despite the same chipset.

Sadly motorolla had given up selling their phones in Indonesia the last one officially released in the country was moto Z2 play. It's hard to get motorolla phones for a motoboi like myself. I love this new phone!

I am happy with my Motorola Edge 30 NEO, but probably my last Motorola because you keep making bigger phones. I wish you would make a 5.5-6.0" phone. Just even smaller as the Edge 30 NEO.
People say they don't sell, I know the reason : all smaller phones are kind of flagships with high prices (Apple Mini (I would never by Apple), Asus Zenfone 10)
A price between €300 and €400 would be acceptable if the specs are similar to the Edge 30 NEO but than the upgraded version, meaning available hardware at times of production.
The Edge 30 NEO is perfect.

Wireless charging ➡️ happy to have but 5W too slow (drains while charging wireless in car (can do 15W) using Android Auto)

Camera ➡️ OK by daylight, less than mediocre by low light
Updates ➡️ just okay
And above all the price was super 👏 even at launch, dropped quite a lot in my region

6.1 inch display amoled with SD 6 gen 1 processor and 5000mah battery and 256gb storage.

Mobile companies should bring this type of compact phones with must have features like
1)Good processor (Sd 7plus gen2 or sd 778g plus).
2) Box screen with punch hole camera/pop up camera below 6.3 inch with 18:9 aspect ratio.
3) 3.5mm jack, NFC, Notification light, IR blaster.
4) IP 68 rating.
5)Latest Sony/Samsung sensor with OIS & good processing.
6) Optimized UI & Timely updates.

The light effect at the back of the smartphone (around the lenses) doesn't work when I receive messages. The option 'Messages' is turned on, though. What could the problem be? I have Android 14.

Moto is the top brand now. Listening to the consumers! Still could've used a 700 series chip for the phone.
They did in the edge 30, it does cost a bit more though.
At least ultrawide is 13MP unlike Mi 12t

Right way to go!! Small but packed with features! I don't care about 720G or any chipset, just give me 5G and a solid workhorse, with big battery!!
I went with the Mi 11 Lite, which was a big mistake, Xiaomi phones can't hold a charge after they like 1 year old...

Edge 30 has beefier hardware with the same size battery, don't know how that will work out in regards to battery life.

Moto can provide Snapdragon 870 with good camera optimization & improved selfie camera to compete with Poco f4 or Iqoo neo 6. Snapdragon 690 is just meh

Samsung does provide the better chip, it makes the phone 4k capable.
However, as I have seen from someone else with the Galaxy A52s.
It performs worse in games like genshin than the Edge 30neo.
This is because the Samsung UI uses 4.1 of it's 6GB of Ram, and genshin needs about 2.6GB of free Ram. The Moto provides that with it's OS only needing 2.2 of those 6GB. But honestly, the A52s is still great for the price. Just make sure to get the 8GB version if you want to play games.

SD695 is a problem. Any phone that uses it will be a mixed bag.
@Patrick no, i dont mean performance. These days even SD480 would be good enough. The SD695 is stuck between budget and somewhat midrange-ish. The asking price is midrange but the camera quality that you'll get is regretfully disappointing. The fact that the 690 from last year can do 4K recording but 695 can't is rather intriguing.
@Yosh Hi. Do you own the Neo? By chance can you tell me if the side gestures, when you swipe to go back, vibrate? Is vibration haptic?
@Yosh ah ok. No I never want to turn it off. If it doesn't have vibration on gestures, I don't even buy a smartphone 😅
A reviewer from my country said that gestures didn't vibrate. But it didn't really convince me. But if you say they vibrate, I believe you.

@Yosh Then he didn't try it. In fact, the video was not his. I asked him if he had tried it since the video was not made by him. He replied that he used it but he did not shoot the video for a matter of time ...... He probably didn't try it and told me a lie.
Video recording 1080 at 60 fps ( specifically ! ) took me back many years. Meaning that it's crap( oversharpening? cannot handle hard edges? I don't know! ) ! It was driving me crazy as I could not understand how a modern phone can produce such a horrible video and in a superb lit environment ( I am coming from an iPhone SE 2020 ) . Finally , I understood after testing that the problem lies with the fps setting . When I turnt it to 30 quality became very good. No, it is not the cam sensor nor the CPU . Clearly , manufacturer(s) keep the tradition of NOT optimizing an otherwise good device ( at least by my standards and case of use ) . I also installed Open Camera and the results seem even better. I don't see the point of giving 3 years android update if the device in some aspects is under-optimized.
How I turn it to 30 ?
@@KoalaBeer. Camera -> Video -> Upper and slightly on the right side, there is an icon stating the fps you're on . Click it to change modes ( 30 or 60 ) accordingly . Try both and then zoom in ( which makes the problem more obvious ) and you'll see that when on 60 fps edges are more jagged.
I also heard Google Camera helps if original cameras are crappy, especially in case of Sony Xperia 10 series. But I'm not sure if it'll work on this device.
@@marymiller3751 Yes, you're right,but as long as we're talking only about photos. Video seems the same. I 'm using now / testing GCAM 8.1 & 9.2 and I've made for them configs also. I don't shoot at 60 fps though whatsoever.

I wouldn't hesitate if Motorola would offer longer updates. This one for example stops in 2025, compared to the Pixel 7a, which updates until 2028. That largely compensates for the price difference.
I mean it's not like your phone becomes unusable once it stops getting updates.

It is really small. It reminds me of the iPhone 6.
I miss the G 5G format which was a little bit longer(same wideness). Great for films. Only two years of security updates so it sadely had to go.
Iphone 13 has a smaller screen 6.1 inches technically

@@nathansstuff1547 thanks for correcting, yes its fusion, i wish cameras are better than average because moto is on top with other departments, i recently purchased moto g72 for my sister and it's good in all aspects, just the camera needs work.

It's kinda disappointing. It's almost an all-rounder if not for the lower grade chipset. They could have gone for the SD 778g. Such a waste..
A better chipset would have been better, no doubt, but for every day use and medium heavy tasks it is very decent.
