And, some Soul music along with it. 🙂
All of the music that have been created he got it

I feel like this song really encompasses the 70s for sure.
This man is a gift from God to make this world a better place.
The best decision I made was to fly from CA to NOLA to see Stevie play this entire album. It was amazing and I will never forget it.
Wow! that's totally awesome! I'm so jealous.
Woww thus gave me chills❤❤❤
What year?

Great decision. I had the honor of witnessing him perform the entire album exactly in the order the album is. Beyond words. It's a feeling that there's no language to put to words to properly express what your soul feels. CALIFORNIA LOVE 😎🎭✌️
It's been 43 years since this album can out and it is still holding up as one of the best ever.
Facts I’m a 80s baby it’s 2020 and it’s on heavy rotation for me it’s therapeutic

It even ranked 4th in the 500 greatest albums of all time.

I was in junior high when this song came out! Great songs are timeless! This is one of Stevie's best albums!!
I can feel the Brazilian influence in this song As a Brazilian, thank you Stevie Wonder
Like any great artist or song, this song influenced a now classic House song. “Outro Lugar” - Salome de Bahia. ✅🇧🇷
Let's not overlook his brilliant horn arrangements and players!
For me it's the voice, the background singing, the musical arrangements, the band and all musicians. For me this is a Perfect song for Conga.
That songs has a lot of great memories for one is the excitement of riding through Harlem at midnight speeding pass as though there was no tomorrow
Name more players involved 1:29
The flute part towards the ending is pure bliss
Bobbi Humphrey
Bobby Humphrey truly killed it..
that is awesome huh!
Bobbi Humphrey did her Thang and then dropped the mic 🎤.
and George Benson harmonizing through the song and as it fades for 60 seconds!
If I was on an island, Stevie Wonder’s music would be the choice.
Probably the best song of the best album of the 20's century musician. Don't miss Mr. George Benson on the background vocals, who gave everything durin the flute solo. Two legends who made history, for ever!
Cool... ❤️
George played, was he also a flutist
@@1948langdale This legendary flute solo was played by a lady, Bobbi Humphrey.

A-Women, A-Men. This is one of my all time FAVORITE pieces of music. I STILL have my vinyl copy of Songs in the Key of Life. The 2014 Grammys included Pharrell, Daft Punk, Nile Rogers, and Stevie Wonder doing "Get Lucky" - except it wasn't just "Get Lucky." It was a medley, and it ended with "Another Star." EVERYONE was on their feet. Pharrell was so excited to be on stage with Stevie Wonder, he couldn't contain himself. I cannot fathom who could possibly give this a thumbs down. How can there be 925 people on the planet who do not like this. They must hate music.
Amen...we have memories of excellent music and artists...I'll celebrate my 70th birthday next year.....God Bless Us...
Arguably the greatest album ever created..
Yes!
I would have to agree!!!
Especially it came out the same year I was born 1976 I love it
No argument from me.
STEVIE ROCKS!!!!!!
I can honestly say this song is one of Stevie's best. The reason is all the elements of R & B are there, with classical and Caribbean flavor. God didn't bless Stevie with sight, but Stevie blessed the world with his wonderful talent.....

The drums on this track are amazing; even more amazing when you know that Stevie played all the drums on this track.
+Jim Reuterskiold wow! I adore this music, it reminds of people in flowing coloured clothing dancing in a park on a hot summer day! Just make me soooooooo happy!!
what?!! nice
+Jim Reuterskiold Stevie Wonder...like Prince & a few other artists, very very few.....is a multi instrumental playing musician. Not just able to play one or two well. But able to play 4, 5, 6..or more VERY well.
Fun fact: he also plays the harmonica, such as the solo on Eurythmics' 'There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)'
Oscy Don't mean to steal your thunder...but..almost EVERYBODY knows that Stevie is one of the best "harp" (harmonica) players to emerge..well.. since he was a 13 y.o. "genius."
But, I DIDN'T know he played on the Eurythmics' tune. Thanks for that. Peace...
god was showing off when he created stevie wonder

Even if you can’t dance, you can dance to this!

But all my heart can hear is your melody
So long ago my heart, without demanding
Informed me that no other love colud do
But listen, did I not, though understanding
Fell in love with one who would break my heart in two?
For you love might bring a toast of wine
But with each sparkle know the best for you I pray
For you, love might be for you to find
But I will celebrate our love of yesterday

This masterpiece feels like A triumphant arrival to heaven.
Stevie is a freak of nature. He's been blind all of his life, and he's made better Music than some people who can see! All of his Music is timeless.
No freak of nature, rather a musical genius who had the misfortune to be born prem before medical science worked out that giving prem babies high concentration of oxygen was blinding them. Spare a thought for the other babies who lost their eyesight...
You made a smart and fact based comment, Jenny!
This man turns out musical masterpieces like Michelangelo and Leonardo turned out works of art. Truly a grand master of his trade.
In my opinion, the best song of his best album. This record never goes out of style. A classic.
I get sooo lost in this song. The levels...the beats...the instruments...the straight flow. It flows yet it takes you anywhere you want to go! I love it!!❤
YESSSSS
That's Stevie for you.. he's truly amazing
I know what you mean, I get a similar experience from Stevie's Do I Do song, very full and rich.
There may be billions of people who have made music in this world and had some great songs too, but there will never, ever be anyone like Stevie Wonder. In fact, no one even comes close. He is the best there was- the best there is- and the best there ever will be. Everything he does that has to do with music from the production of the music to the lyrics of his songs is phenomenal in every way and the way he phrases each and every word is utterly breathtaking. He is truly the most gifted musical genius ever.
There is Stevie and then there is everyone else...
Facts
Lauren Hill used to lay his records on her bed and sleep on the floor. I can relate.
Stevie Wonder broke the tradition of break up songs when he made 'Another Star', before this jazzy upbeat song break up songs were traditionally slow and mournful. Stevie Wonder picked it up and put the horns in it with the FLUTE SOLO to put the Rose's on the cake. SIMPLY GENIUS!!!
Yes! It starts off as a cry of pain, and ends in a symphony of hope!

Awesome for such a young one to be drawn to such art
I've ADORED this song since the very first time my parents Willie Albert Lewis and Wilma Ann Perez played it back in the 70's (was it 76'?) when I was a mere 7 or 8 years old. This song as well as most of the song on the album "Songs In the Key of Life" moved and stayed with me my ENTIRE life (I'm 52 now). You have excellent taste.
Aah Bless your beautiful heart.❣
What a VOICE! Just when you think it's superb, at 2:25, he jumps up an octave and blows your mind. The splash cymbal at 3:11 really gets me! Fabulous work by Nathan Watts on bass.

Just to hear all the instruments so clear yet blended. The flute towards the end.

I actually thought was my own personal favorite Stevie song that no one else knew. They played it at the DCA in Philly. But when I saw him do the entire album in concert, Another Star ended the album part of the show and the entire audience rose in unison at the first note and went nuts.
The arrangement is superb ..

Because their hearts and ears are lacking!
Because they already made up their minds not to like him or his music. Who needs 'em.
Because they never heard good music before Stephanie
Can I say, I totally agree with you all. This is amazing music, the way he puts it all together, and how many musicians he uses, just to make that sound.
I think it's pretty sad that people could be ignorant, to this exceptional quality of music.... More fool them. At least we know, love and appreciate it ❤️

A marching band can go to work on this song. From the drum line, to the trumpets, sousaphones on that piano part in the beginning, cymbals on the high hat parts... masterpiece. I wonder if it was ever attempted.

When this album first came out I was in HS marching band (NY). One of our competitors opened their show with this piece. They made a good run at the title but fell short in the end (we took the title). It is a killer piece and that is the only time I've ever heard it used in a competition, which is a shame. Stevie Wonder made my childhood and youth feel that the world was a wonderful, hopeful place to grow up and live. The music of today is sad, and vulgar and is indicative of the experience many people are experiencing.
This has to be one of my top ten favorites of Stevie Wonders Music 🎶alot of ppl dont know nothing about the B side of the record at least the ppl in my age group don't know!!!!
Its scary that I remember actually remember this song being played as a 2yearold in 1976. I remember a lot of Stevie's music from this album that particular year and considering how dominant on the charts this album was I now understand why. I think "Isn't She Lovely" I first remember then "As". I remember going to the park and being held too much (I loved to break away and run lol). That year I remember ABBA's "Dance Queen" , George Benson's "Breezin" Lou Rawls "You'll never find.." . Such a uplifting period thinking back.
very great comment..thank you for this
Your memories are just as golden and lasting as the music of Stevie Wonder thank you for sharing. The music of Stevie was a part of my life too.
Uplifting whether 2 or 21 yrs old, as I was! Thanks for capturing the essence of that year!
I didn't say I went to a Stevie Wonder concert at 2years of age I said I remember the song. I never said word for word. I remember hearing the tune. Certain things as a youngster you hear that sticks to your memory. You won't know who it is or what the lyrics were but the tune will stick. Why is that hard for your to comprehend.
You act as if I said I was throwing blue light basement parties in preschool. Not that serious. Certain tunes (notice I said sounds/tunes) I can distinctly remember. I remember captain Kangaroo or certain tunes/sounds that looking back I now know whom they represent. I didn't say when I was 2 years old I got out my crib and pulled the LP out from under the bottle and jumped on the turn table and play Stevies song lol
