Did anybody ask treatment providers? Recovery mentors? Mental health clinicians? Anybody not totally disconnected from the actual problem? Another waste of time and money
What exactly is your solution, then? We should dehumanize people with mental disorders? Are you aware of how many veterans are homeless and dealing with substance abuse? Do you want everyone to line up and spit on their face for having trouble dealing with the awful shit they saw in combat?
The city is ☠🪦. The "government" here is so pathetic... Want to kow their solution for their catastrophic failure over the past few years??? Let's beg the retired police chief to resume his role and save the city so we can sit back and collect tax payer money (YOUR MONEY). Circus is in session folks. We just the peon clowns funding it. ✌
My sadness is that Americans always wait for extremes before they act. It has to get really bad, let people fall to the ground, before they want to do something. Then some people’s better natures take while other’s mean sides come to the front. The people at the bottom have always been lost.
Well, duh. It's the same reason measure 110 failed. It was unable to be fully implemented for the same reasons seen here. Lack of mental health and addiction treatment beds.
@@Azazel2024 You mean to tell me that throwing people in jail for having a mental disorder is the best course of action? Really? Imagine a veteran getting PTSD and turning to substance abuse to cope with the trauma and then throwing them in jail over an addiction caused by a war they didn't decide on starting.
@wilson6904 this is why people should say no to the military until they can take care of their soldiers after war I mean they are given trillions of dollars yet can't do shit for vets
You want to know the worst part? If you are on an opioid maintenance medication like Suboxone or methadone they will take you off of it and do so quite viciously in a taper that usually happens slowly over months, sometimes years they will do it in just a few days which causes horrible withdrawal symptoms as well as leaving that person vulnerable to relapse and overdose both in jail and when they are released. Its always funny to hear people scream about "ma freedom" as they then work to take away the freedom of others for a victimless "crime". If a person is an adult why does anyone else feel like the have the right to tell them what they can or can't put in their body especially when it is in the privacy of their own home. And don't even get me started on the hypocrisy of have legal tobacco, alcohol, caffeine. As long as they know the risks, another reason to legalize, to make it easier to study these drugs and their long term effects
I have never heard Jvp say anything that led me to believe she understands that government policy has to be referencing real world consequences.

Sorry, the police can't help you right now. Theyre transporting a druggie to a building where theyre not required to go inside.
