Taurine, l theanine, agmatine, and magnesium glycinate saved my life. Along with yoga, meditation, walking and breathwork. Autism, adhd, addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma.
Healing is possible. You just gotta find what works for you. It is out there tho. Everyone can heal. No one is doomed. The journey is long and hard, but it's worth it. Keep going.
Thank you costaldevomito. ❤️
You are autistic yet you went through natural route which is hard and slow instead of quick fixes like Benzos. I wish your recovery is permanent.
@costaldevomito How much do you take of each?
@@Crystal-qg4rd 2 grams of agmatine and 3 grams of taurine
Did you have family support and money?
it is great to hear a psychiatrist talk about supplements in place of benzodiazepine and I too had the same result after correcting vitamin D and magnesium. Thank you Sir.
USA psychriatists are not like Indian Doctors...
I am a doctor and benzos are misused by a lot of doctors (non-psychiatrists). Even older psychiatrists not up to date with modern guidelines.
L Theanine and magnesium glycinate help me so much!
Same! I take L-theanine in the morning with coffee and magnesium glycinate before bed. Love them! I recently started taking krill oil in the middle of the day and like it so far.
It has helped me as well.
@@cristiestandingbear2510. how much lmtheanine do you take ?
@@cristiestandingbear2510 please don’t take krill leave it for the whales.
Did the magnesium help you sleep?
God bless you Dr. Amen. Thank you for your courage and passion and generosity. Profoundly grateful to you.
I’ve been taking ashwaganda and Bacopa for over 10 years! I am 63, I take bow alsi take and L Thanine and GABA. For a couple of months, these two are a good addition to the 20 other supplements I take most days. At 63 I always shock people when I tell them my age 😂 supplements are the golden ticket to aging well and feeling great!
L-Theanine for a home run . . .
Would you please share the 20 supplements you take? Wow!
Yes please
You used to get anxiety?
Been taking ashwaganda for 2 years now and absolutely love it
Still taking it? What form would you recommend such as powder or pill etc?
@@getwell587 yep. Pill. Ksm 66 patented ashwaganda. Nootropics depot
I tried but doesn’t have any effect on me, which one are u use?!
@@getwell587I've been taking 500mg powdered Ashwagandha root (not extract) capsules everyday for the last 6 weeks, for me it's working better than any anxiety medication that I've ever been on, my anxiety level is now lower than it has been in years as far as I'm concerned I'm now just feeling occasional normal levels of anxiety for valid reasons not the constant debilitating anxiety about everything and nothing that I was feeling for as long as I can remember, I'm actually a happy person again finally.
I was taking two capsules a day one when I get up and one before bed but for the last two weeks I've dropped that to just taking one at night.
The overall anxiety relief wasn't instant it took two to three weeks of taking ashwagandha before my anxiety levels started getting less, but I noticed from day one of taking it that I was sleeping way better at night.
Do you cycle the ashwagandha? Like 2 months on and 1 month off? I read continuous use will make it lose it's potency.
Stay hydrated with sea salt or redmonds salt, as well. I have discovered that my anxiety comes from needing hydration and salt to absorb
how are u now? did this help with ur anxiety?
I was having terrible morning anxiety again, about 4 moths ago. 😢I was so nervous because I’m trying to live healthier and I didn’t wanted to go to a psychiatrist to get a prescription. I’m a believer and asked God the Father to help me. I started researching and found out the profound importance of magnesium glycinate and vitamin D. After taking then for a while my life has changed for the better. No more hand shaking or sweating or stomach nervousness. Please try always natural foods, self care and great supplements. I used pure encapsulations brand bc is very important to know some supplements are not that great. Choose the best for your body you deserve the best ❤ keep moving and eat well too. I cut off fast food as well. Ps: forgot to mention I also took l-theanine for a while at night. Also remove from your life the people that are toxic and don’t want to respect your boundaries 😊 please don’t take gaba or ashawanda for too long. If you do this may create issues research well or talk to a specialist.
This is great, sometimes ppl think they have a mental disorder but in reality it is a vitamin they are deficient in!
Thanks, Dr., for not making anxious people and people helping anxious people chase this information all over the web .
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 The best doctor ever!
LOVE this doc isnt pushing drugs on us
I love your program. I had the best day, I felt so happy because of the recommendations for depression and blood flow.
I started taking a supplement that has Ashwagandha, magnesium citrate and zinc and I find it even more effective than Xanax! It’s incredible!
What's it called?
@@samjay4107 i get it in Ireland. It’s called One Nutrition, KSM-66
What supplement is this??
Hellooooo
Which supplement??
Magnesium citrate, ashwganda, gaba
TIP: Adaptogens like Ashwaghanda, mushrooms, ginsengs, etc. typically do not need to be taken for long periods; once they reset your imbalances (often within days/weeks) you stop taking it! Adaptogens are not meant for daily use long term!
Ashwaganda gives me the worst brain fog and utter exhaustion imaginable. I literally had a static buzzing sound in my brain while taking it. Never again.
@@theynot4u sounds like you took way too high a dose(s) and/or for too long.
@@theynot4uit’s truly just like that
Interesting to note, thankyou for sharing!
I have used ashwaghanda for almost 5 years. I tolerate it very well. I get blood tests done every year. Everything is fine. You can use it long term with No problem.
I use, ashwaghanda for my bipolar and I am happy
How often do you take it!?
@@getwell587 I take one before breakfast and one before dinner. I take 1500 mg of extract in these 2 capsules. I have a great life now. I have been happy and stable for a year now.
Amen
@@getwell587 1 before breakfast and 1 before dinner every day.
Nac is also amazing for bipolar!!
Love love love GABA and magnesium. Calms me down a few notches and even calms my breathing.
Yes, magnesium and L Theanine
Ashwaganda Rocks!
As someone in recovery from substances, I love this doctor and I love that he recommends supplements instead of benzos because I nearly died from withdrawal from them. 🙏
Thank you Dr. Amen!
thank you so much! i will
have L-Theanine and Magnesium, looking for GABA and Ashwaganda. Thank You ❤️
Amazon
Marshall’s dept stores sells bags of Ashawaganda
@@hawaiigirl8089 why is this weird to me 😅
You don’t need GABA because ltheanine is a precursor for it . Taking to much gaba may tell your body to not produce any more and this will bring other problems. While is good to take supplements always check long term effects. Magnesium glycinate and l theanine are safer . GABA just once in a while if that. I would look on got or good how to produce gaba naturally instead 😊
I never tried l-Theanine hope it help with the sleep wich I really struggle now.
Thank you! I have hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease and these have come in handy when I feel too jittery or anxious. God bless!
Beware of ashwagandha if you have any thyroid or autoimmune disorder. Please do your own research too.
We take GABA and Magnesium Citrate daily. Increase GABA dosage of a more stressful event.
GABA as as far as I know is not a supplement. But a neurotransmitter itself that is related to anxiety. Is there a supplement as well with the same name? If there's then can you point me to them?
I didn't know that was an available supplement
It doesn't cross the blood brain barrier. So it would not work at all.
GABA dosage? Have any links?
@@getwell587 The supplement doesn't work for anxiety. GABA cannot cross the blood brain barrier, if it did then I would have felt some amount of relief. This doctor is a charlatan. He has all sorts of unproven "supplements for anxiety, panic attacks, and Depression.

I need this doctor's help desperately. I have been looking for an answer since 1990
Thats a great psychiatrist right there 💯
Medicaid pays for Benzodiazepines sadly not for supplements. Poverty is very anti health. Cheap food is not healthy. I’ve suffered from severe depression and anxiety for 21years. Now it’s worse do to age and economic conditions.
I get mine they Amazon alot cheaper but I do know what u mean...
considering the outstanding, difficult predicament of being human beings, depression and anxiety must be on the " "appropriate emotional diatribe list (somewhere, sometimes). God have mercy on us.
Food "poducts" are not cheap or healthy; but many real whole foods are both very cheap and healthy too! Buy the basics, eggs, beans, root vegies (onions, garlic, potatoes, yams, celery, carrots, etc), cruciferous (cabbage, broc, cauliflower, etc) local seasonal greens, veggies and fruits (avocados, lemons, apple, banana, pears, peppers, tomatoes), and whole grains (oats, brown rice, barley, etc), seeds (chia, flax, sunflower)...
Learn to cook "root to stem", tjen make broths, sauces, marinades and juices from the trimmings (cuts, bones, and rendered fats/oils). A few mixed spices go along way: Herbs d Provance, Italian spice, Chinese 5 spice, Cajun spice, Jamaican jerk, Greek, Harissa (African), Curry....
@@Kay.in.FL.HI.SA.JP.OZ.NZ.RIO..don't start preaching to people like that. They're not stupid just broke. Shopping on a budget is nothing like going without due to poverty.

"non anemic iron deficiency" (look up) can also cause anxiety, depression, EXHAUSTION, heart papultatins, mood issues, sleep issues, weight gain or weight loss, sleep issues, bags under the eyes etc etc a longgg list. Iron deficiency is the #1 deficiency in the world. Over 1.8 BIllion are iron deficienct dispite their regular iron test shows "nomal range". You must take a "Ferritin iron test" and other iron deficiency advance test to see if you have an iron deficiency. Get tested. this is ALWAYS overlooked by doctors.
This information is very much appreciated ❤
Not so for men. In men..TOO MUCH IRON can kill them and is an epidemic.
THIS 👏👏👏 demand a ferritin test. After complaining of all these symptoms for years I finally went and ordered a ferritin test for myself from quest diagnostics (they are not that expensive). Ferritin level was 10. Optimal levels start at least a 70. Finally my doctor came around and looked at other numbers, turns out it is iron deficiency anemia after all. To everyone out there that has given up hope, take your health into your hands and demand answers. They have all kinds of tests available for self order.
@@beccaseward Thank you for posting your iron deficiency story. Im glad you found the truth to get your health back. Take care.
I have anemia deficiency. What iron supplements you suggest?
I use magnesium citrate for constipation.
Works wonders, naturally.
Really? Wou I need this😮
Mag. Oxide works great for constipation.
@@ViralVibes_01 Try this: Drink 2 liters of water daily (yes, only water, and without bubbling), eat sugar (and everything that contains sugar which includes fruit) only on two days of the week, don't eat processed food (the only processed food you can eat is cheese, but the real one without colorants and preservatives or melting agents, and you can eat heavy cream and milk), eat at least 400 grams of vegetables, only eat whole grain bread, best is sourdough, and go for a walk for at least 20 minutes every day. Use spices and herbs as you like, best is organic food. If this doesn't help, ask me for more tips.
Does absolutely nothing for me & I take 3 going to bed with zinc. 🤔🤔
I’m tapering off 40mg Valium. As soon as I started taking GABA, L Tgeanine, Magnesium and Lemon Balm the taper became so much easier! I’m down to 25mg after 3 months and I feel I can drop another mg but waiting on my next appointment before I do.
Great advice! Valium & zanex just makes you rely on them, get hooked and then are worse off - it’s just a crappy band aid. Love these natural recommendations ❤
Magnesium glycinate helps with rest and sleep at night for me. Fibromyalgia causes my muscles to tense from chronic pain. Magnesium glycinate relaxes my muscles and promotes overall relaxation.
How many days to see the effect?
Do you avoid all oxalates too?
all of these supplements, except for Gabba, I take in my smoothies. I especially looove magnesium at night for a restful sleep.
I take magnesium and theanine before bed :)
Day 4 back on Ashwaganda ~ teeth not clenched so tight and feeling less anxious already.
✌️
Great, but dosages?
I found a liquid magnesium glycinate on Amazon that also has GABA and theanine in it. It's my savior when my nerves are fried.
Thanks so much for your great advices.
🙏🙏🙏
Often its a good idea to accept that we have emotions..and working through those emotions is healthy!
Mil Gracias Doctor
Brilliant wisdom.
Gaba is IT!! Love it
Thank You so much.❤
Thank you for all your work
Thank you so much I just bought all of those
Where did u buy them??
Thanks🕊
YESSSS this combination is Amazing and has helped me get off a daily dose of 3 mlg of clonopin a day to just these supplements and PLEASE 🥺 ❤TAKE THESE FIRST AS WEENING OFF BENZOS HAS BEEN SO UNBELIEVABLY HARD AND HAS PERMANENTLY ALTERED MY BRAIN CHEMISTRY 😢
How long did you take the klonopin for...??
@@crystalcastro1490 I’m actually glad you asked bc it has been hell and ANY info or help was everything, so I was on 3 mlgs of clonopin for 12 years and now I’m down to 1 mlg but I also was prescribed 2 mlg of Xanax a day at the same time for daily panic attacks so weening off was absolute hell and honestly shouldn’t not be done without medical assistance, please ask anything if I can help I will ❤️
Sounds great, also just do relaxing things & avoid things outside your preference. Go for your specifics goals that are neglected. Bit by bit. We all personally know what contributed to our anxiety. We ain’t living /thinking ideally. Things have unintended consequences. We are all a bit of discipline away from our better selves.
Awesome 👌 thanks for sharing ❤
It would be helpful my dear brother if you mention Ashwaganda and its possible side effects if you having thyroid gland issues
Aswagandha is natural and pure any product which are plant based have majorly no side effects you can have aswagandha 2 table spoon in morning with hot milk
Thank you❤
Your the greatest
Thank you
Such gems 💎 Thank you 🙏🏾
Love you and what you have to say. But you are sooo hard to hear? 🤔 grateful you add the text! Without it I'd be lost. But would still live to hear your voice (words)
I love his channel also, but he does have a soft spoken voice. Have you tried turning up your volume?
Tried all of those and none of them make me feel relaxed. When you're having a panic attack, those supplements will not do anything. But thanks for suggesting these for people.
FASCIA HEALING... DIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING... STRETCHING ON TIPTOE HEAD BACK TONGUE TO THE ROOF OF MOUTH....
Thanks Doc, I needed too see this today 🙏
Thank you Dr.
Amazing thank you for actually trying to help
Any opinion on non fortified Nutritional Yeast?
Thank you Dr. Amen for providing us with better alternatives for this condition. Many of us are having neurological disorders now more them ever.
I take Ashwaganda and B-complex along with a super vitamin for women. I'll have to try Gaba too. Menopause can enhance this problem too. That's another subject matter.
What do you think of Normotime? I would like to hear your opinion !
Hibiscus tea is a help as well. 2 cups a day is all you need
Is it good for a person that's diagnosed with bipolar. From South Africa
@@kathychinsamy2157 yes, dear. It is a reliever of mind. If you have access to a library or computer, research the benefits of different teas for their different benefits. I use White, Oolong, Mulberry, Green, Chaga mushroom, turmeric, ginger as well as the Hibiscus tea. I sweeten it naturally, usually honey. Honey also has good health benefits. I hope this helps. The saying " It takes a village" is my outlook and mission to helping people naturally. Blessings
That tea is good for high blood pressure too.
Ashwagandha really helps my son
Magnesium glycinate HANDS DOWN THE BEST version!!! With the others mentioned yes!!! Makes you feel great! Add vit d and c and you're set!
I take ashwaganda in the morning (10 days a month), relora in the afternoon and sometimes morning and gaba, magnesium and l-theanine at night.
So true doc. Thanks.
Magnesium Citrate loosens bowels to a dangerous extent but it reduced my anxiety by like 60% alone. Does he mean stack all these things or take one at a time?
I found it is hit or miss with some of these. Meaning Theanine and melatonin work great for me, but not my daughter who has ADHD, she reacts better to GABA and ashagawanda and CBD. I think we are all different and you have to find out which one works better for you😊
Good to know!
Thank you! I actually heard "Theanine" earlier.❤️🔥
thank you so much, you're a sweetheart.
Mg Citrate is usually not recommended over MG glyconate from everything I've read.
Ashwaganda has side effects too if used for long time. Withdrawal issues. Best to take one box and then take a break of couple of months, and or take one day one, two days off after that initial box
L-lysine and 5-HTP in conjunction have significant effects on serotonin.
Thank you❤LOVE💞
But takes awhile to work if really anxious and depressed! Magnesium in correct form a must for everyone. Sooner you start taking the better u will feel and sleep.
How long until you start seeing results?
Where do you find these good quality supplements especially the magnesium as in most stores there is only oxide?
Amazon or any nutrition store like Vitamin Shoppe or Whole Foods, Sprouts etc
Pure encapsulations makes high quality supplements that are very affordable. I get almost all my supplements from them.
I-Herb
Also Saffron is great
How do you take Mag citrate without it being a colon prep??
Try magnesium baths instead. Look up the info on the amount of time & amount you need to work for you. And Or magnesium oil spray is also useful if you get gut problems from it.
Haha
😅
I know someone that used Mag. Citrate for a supplement-not realizing it can be used as a laxative. She had loose stools for a month before she figured out the cause. Research :)
Dr Amen: How much of these to use, please? And thank you 🙏
What about magnesium threonate ? Is it better for adhd ?
I've heard it's good for your brain
Do you have a group therapy that you offer online?
Also Melissa lemon balm
How much ashwaganda MG should I use doc😢
I want two of everything he's on... he's got the culty come follow me to heavens valley vibe ...😂😅😊 i want to feel better too

L Theanine is really good. Every time after I took 200mg I feel much more relaxed and anxiety decreased
I've had severe insomnia since I was a small child to the point I'd hallucinate from not sleeping. I've tried the lot and decided to try magnesium....it legit changed my life
Seriously?? Pls tell me which magnesium.. Price also pls.

Gaba ltheanine ?
Doc I have had amazing results with anxiety using lavender. A product called Calm. I don’t know why it helps but it is acute and calms me down big time.
Try valariana oficinialis
I get anxiety when I walk into my house , I’m fine most everywhere, sometimes. My lab results just came back and I have low creatine.
L Theanine makes me so angry and act out really bad. I use CBD oil and exercise. CBT works great as well flipping the script in my head. I love Mag. and Asr.hwaganda. Your a terrific Dr.
Nothing works for me , my chronic anxiety is so high, its more like chronic terror. Ive tried pharmaceutical medication, counselling, every type of supplement, breathing, meditations, tapping, prayer, exercise. I even have experienced panic attacks while on strong opioid..the things that knock other people out have no effect on me and i havent got more than an hour or two sleep maximum, in years now. My whole digestive systems is painfully inflamed now and anything i eat including supplement capsules, are passed in the toilet intact and undigested in as fast as 20/30 minutes. Im so unwell i can't function. I cant go anywhere much because of such low physical energy, such high high anxiety, pain/ discomfort, poor cognitive functioning and most embarrassingly now- faecal incontinence.
One of the worst things is being alone and without family/ friends understanding and support. Doctors have nothing to offer that helps ( GP sends me to psychiatric who only give antidepressants/antipsychotics which i have tried countless times and types but only left me worse)

Sad to hear man. Maybe try to go back the foundation. Go walking in the nature, exercise HIT daily, skip tv and news and go to an diëtist and check for food allergies or intolerante. I only discovered 3 years ago that i was intolerant for milk and gluten. Stop eating that, and the difference was night and day. Take magnesium for bed time. To make the story short, check out how they lived 1000 of years ago and try to copy that in most cases.(paleo diet). Those people back then weren't depressed for a reason.... good luck
@justinebourke-ih9zh Try going to another doctor til you get answers. They say that most people that have severe anxiety has an underlying cause for it. Stomach problems, heart problems, pregnancy changes if a woman. So many reasons that you could have something else causing you to have such severe anxiety.prying for you I'm also struggling with anxiety supplements help some.
