Hi there, I hope you enjoy this lovely video on how you can tie or wear your baby on the back. There are many benefits of wearing your baby on your back First, it increases bonding time with your baby. Second, it gives free hands to do other household chores or attend to your other kids. And last not the least, it decreases the risk of flat headed syndrome. Thank you for visiting my channel, please comment and like the video and importantly dont forget to subscribe. >3
I was walking around my local shopping centre recently. My area is predominantly white folk. A gorgeous African mother walked past me with her baby on her back, just like this. It was honestly one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen ❤
My mom usually says tying baby to the back creates a bond between mother and child because of the warmth of the mother’s body. Thanks for promoting the African culture. Awww he’s already sleeping. New friend here to stay. FV2
I did this with both my boys, ESPECIALLY with them being 13 months apart. Im first gen American but of Ghanian descent. I grew up seeing this, from family and ladies in my church. So it came natural for me when I had my kids. It helps SO MUCH! Bc you are literally hands free! My boys would fall asleep in 5 minutes or less, EVERYTIME! So if do one at a time and put them both down for a nap. So I just went about cooking, laundry, cleaning. When done I’d put them to lay down and I would take a nap too lol. I miss those days!!! You did well, I love it!!
Thank you for this! There’s an African mama I always see at the grocery store wearing her baby on her back. She always looks peaceful and the baby is almost always asleep, while I am struggling around the store pushing a stroller while still holding my baby because inevitably she wants out of the stroller halfway through the shopping trip. So thank you for showing us! You and your baby are just beautiful ❤
Thank you for this video. I had to use a bed sheet to wrap my daughter because i dont have a wrappper and she LOVES it. I really wish more american women would do it
What a sweet sleepy boy! My 5 1/2 month old loves to be worn on my front in a carrier. I have short arms and want to wear her on my back soon so im watching all the videos! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you! I can't wait to try with my grandbaby, since I didn't do this with my own babies. I'm looking forward to wearing her this way and getting more done when she's here.
What a cute baby!! I have been wanting to learn this skill. I use a baby carrier but love the cloth feel, color options, cheap alternative, and easy to replace when worn. God bless you!! ❤
Girl, I'd be scared to death to back into something or sit down forgetting the baby is strapped to my back. I see why you do it when living in Nigeria, with the hustle and bustle in that country however, I don't see it very necessary in more laid back countries
I live in Germany (super laid back) and always see how western mums struggle pushing their kids on escalator blocking others and receiving crazy stares. Elevators in train stations are easily dysfunctional or busy, mums miss their train connections waiting for elevator to get to their floors. Train station escalators have a sign stopping strollers with kids from coming through. Solution? TIE YOUR BABY ON YOUR BACK IN THE SO CALLED LAID BACK COUNTRIES & YOU WON'T MISS YOUR TRAINS OR BREAK LAWS GOING ON ESCALATORS.
How is it cold? Cold is putting your baby down and letting them cry because you are busy. I searched this because when I tied her to my front it was difficult to do tasks while she is against my chest so being on my back is easier for both of us as she is still close to me and I can still get things done around the house. This is a very ignorant comment, if you don’t understand the culture that’s fine but do not insult and called the technique cold
Waste of time. I think it is careless to carry a child on your back. Your baby should always be visible in front of you. You don't have to do that in 2024. This is ultimate carelessness. I never understand why these women are so careless.
It is cultural and has been done in African countries for generations. If it's not for you, then you don't need to worry about others who benefit from our traditions.
@@awesomepumashoeslol! Not making this a racial issue, and I have no clue the race of the person behind that ignorant comment, nor does it matter, but I find it funny that white women are on trend with baby wearing/wrapping in 2024 and teaching others how to do this with the most complicated and expensive material, and here this mama has shown such a simple way traditionally per her culture. Beautiful that we're still into this in 2024 🎉
Also, the traditional ways that African women have been wearing and comforting their babies for generations are now the standard in the west. Please check out Pediatrician Harvey Karp’s book The Happiest Baby on the Block.

No that doesn't
When I was a child, Korean mothers also tied babies to their backs. There is so much more that I can do when the baby is on my back rather in front.

Thank you for this. This is handy for busy parents doing everything alone.
You literally just saved my whole sanity this morning. Thank you.❤
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating so well how to wrap your baby! I'll give it a try

I love how second nature this is to you that you kept tying it out of habit and untying it to show us
This is how our nanny carried me and my brother and my mom said we were most contented when we were being looked after by our beloved Thandi.
Your baby is so cute and I like the way you carry him
I did this in a robe and it worked out so well.
this is beautiful
we still have a lot to learn from Africans
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this 🖤🖤 I wish my bub would stay asleep like this lol
Thank you forsharing, I really would like to try it.
Thank you 😄that’s very nice for the baby 😄🌹🌹🌹
She has such a soothing accent. Its making me sleepy too
Awww, he is so cute
This looks beautifully done the baby is even asleep so cute f2
I place one side of the fabric on my shoulders .Now this is new and will try it out.
What kind of cloth is it? Where do you buy it?
Indeed, this is not only beautiful, but also important as the baby is comfortable as well. F2
I love how you made this to look so simple..I struggle to tie my little sister on my back because I used to see my mum do it.fv2
Thanks for the tutorial!
I’m watching this to be ready when I have a baby and I have to clean the house, wash, etc 😅💕
My baby is 3 months, how do u do it when they are small?
Tie on the front, look up baby wearing. I wore my small baby on front
i remember doing this with my dolls as a child and cannot wait to tie my kids like this and do stuff around the house. fv2
I did as well. playing mum role play lol
Carrying mine at the back as i am watching this 😅 He's two months 🙈
I really like this but at how old can I start tying mine? She is one month now is it ok to start tying her??
I tied mine to the front when small. Even 4 days old. Look up baby wearing on youtube
Can a 2.5 year old fit in it? Lol I want one
where can i get one of these wraps?
African ladies use whatever is available....towels were very popular in our area.
Não são porta bebés, são capulanas, tecidos de algodão usados para varias coisas inclusive pôr bebes nas costas
Well done Emma
Thank you so much Faynabel.
What about Neck Support his head is leaning is that safe for crooks
Well well, this reminds me how my mum used to tied my girl on her back..fv2
So cute ❤
Thank you ❤
I cant get my little one on my back yet
Dear, thank you very much! At what age African moms start carrying their children on the back?
i think as little as a few months as far as i've seen.
I heard someone said “as soon as they can support their own head.”
Even a few weeks, if you’re a pro, my grandma did it, I can’t 😅
Can I do this with a 6 month old
Yup!
What age is this from?
Africa Mama 😍
Really simple #chillsaturday

I was scared my first time to

الولد نام براحة 😂
The Áfrican way
I love this but i can't get my baby to stop sliding down my bum. He's 6 months old. How can i secure him, pls help! ❤❤
You need to use another clothe/wrapper to secure the bottom. You will tie it half way between his mid back and his bottom and tie it on your belly
@@Eaji10 Thank you! I'll give it a try ❤️
so simple #chillsat1
He gone lol
Hahahaha poor boy
I've tried this. But am not very good at it
Woooow looks so simple, when I try this I fail miserably lool. My baby is always sliding down 🤣🤣

It’s more about preference then necessity. I essentially replaces a stroller.

I'm a Westerner and I think it's genius. Frees up your hands so you can actually get things done while also getting some healthy snuggle time in!
You can actually do chores around the house with the baby on the back. This is useful for everyone.
I would never put my baby om my back. You never know what can happen and you don't see it. Only cold people do this
Only cold people tell there kids to move out at age 18.
