THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve wanted to wear my son on my back like I’ve seen the women in some countries in Africa do. Wearing him forward facing kills my back and I can never get anything done. I have a boba and a moby and was dreading having to buy something else to wear him on my back. You’ve saved my pocketbook and my sanity!
I’m not a mom, but I watch my baby cousins often while their parents work and such, so this method really helps me get things done without baby being fussy! Thank you for sharing :)
Omgosh I loved that video! Thank you for not editing and just for the raw footage! I did laugh a few times because the struggle is sooo real! I feel your pain, thank you for posting this video! I’m gonna be doing this today as I try to finally get chores done around the house! Thank you, mama!!!
Just watching this.. I can already tell ill be getting cramps on my arms when ill try to reach for it lol..... But still imma give it a try lol... I need to get some house stuff done 😆.. Thanks for sharing this helpful video
Thank you!!! I felt like her feet were super restricted so I let them out of the wrap and then doubled over my shoulders so she was more secure. I think this is going to take some practice.
Your daughter is so beautiful and was such a great sport about it! Thank you for this tutorial! I just tried it but lost hope once my toddler started pulling my ears 😭 I will keep trying until we get it! ❤️
Your daughter is an Angel 🙈 mine is terrible she won’t stay still, she loves the sling but I always front carry and she is 9 months and 9 kg so is far too much for front carrying. I have a back pack but i came camping and I forgot it so ill be trying this today and see if she stays still or Dad will have to help here 😂. Thanks you so much, i know the strechy slings are not made for back carry but i will feel if the baby slips out. Thanks so much from Ireland!
Thank k you for this video and showing that it can be a struggle to get it right! My baby is 15lbs at 2 months and I need to get things done! Your video was a godsend!
😍😍😍 Thank you so much for this my son is 8 months and going on 30 lbs I've been trying to find the best way to tote my jellybean and this honestly seems like the best way and it's nice to have anotha sista show you how. It makes me feel very comfortable and confident that I can do it safely being small myself and I feel super reassured that it's okay to struggle a bit and to not get discouraged but to keep trying.. Thank you again
Back carrying in a stretchy wrap can be dangerous! Baby can fall out as the fabric doesn’t stay taught! Please only use woven wraps and structured carriers (make sure your carrier is suitable for back carrying though) for earring baby on your back! Stretchy wraps are only safe for front carrying as then you have your arms to catch baby if the fabric slips down or if baby leans to much out. I’m not trying to offend anyone with my comment, just want to warn about potential danger ⚠️ woven wraps cost generally more than stretchy wraps, but they can be bought really affordable second hand so it doesn’t have to be expensive 💕 (a woven wrap that’s well broken into is also easier to work with and more comfortable than a brand new one)
Carrying babies on your baby by wrapping them in a fabric comes from ancient times. We practice that in Africa. I should know I am Nigerian. The stretchy fabric is ok as long as it’s tight enough to secure the baby. No judgement for your concerns, but it’s ok. Baby must be secure and trust me, with the way she wrapped it, that baby is not going anywhere☺️
The struggle is real! 😂🤭🤗🤗 But you did it! And yes...everyone else was making it seem so simple and I K EW IT WASN'T! I thought I was just bad at it and gave up! THANKS FOR POSTING
This is awesome! Thank you soo much for this video. You baby girl is adorable and is the best to try the baby wrap with. She is so calm and such a little cutie. 🥰🥰
Omg I felt this struggle and it made me laugh so much realizing this how I be looking 🤣🤣 thank you for this video! I really appreciate you not making a big Deal when you were struggling and making it normal.
That baby is the cutest baby Ive seen in a long time. Staring at the camera with those beautiful bright eyes. Its a shame I didnt have this video when my kids were babies, I had a wrap and I couldnt figure out how to do it safely so I ended up giving it away and never used it, sure wouldve saved me some time and stress having my baby on my back all cozy and safe.
similar culture with that in my country. it seems like wearing baby on the back with a wrap, cloth or scarf or something though, mothers used to use a flexible belt or flat rope here in japan. recently many mothers hate a cross shape in front side like in 4:16. however, the workers still use the baby-on the back method in most of nurseries and baby-sitting places.
Thank you for making your video real. Seeing the struggle fabric and Miss Amy wanting her arm out, now I won't be totally discouraged by these same things. I look forward to trying this method.
I was wondering how to do this! You handled her so well..I need to try this :) I love wearing my baby forwards but when I'm trying to do dishes or cleaning this seems like it be way easier.. hopefully with some practice I can get this down :)
I see! With each and every type of material, there is a way to do things securely... I see how you wrapped your daughter and then tied on last time under her to "lock her in place". My son will be here in a few weeks and he is extremely active. THIS is a method I'd be very comfortable using to ensure his safety and our comfort! Thanks for creating this video.
Dee Banks thank you for your kind words! I love wearing baby on back! I do leave out the legs now. I'm not sure how old your son is but as long as he has strong neck control and you can hear him well, I think it's okay (normally 6+ months) :)
I’ve always wanted to learn how to do this as it looks so comfy and practical. My baby is just over 1 years old now. Am I too late to carry him on my back? I just know he’d love it as well as me. Any help would be appreciated ❤️
Your daughter is adorable! How old was she in this video? Or how old was she when you started to wear her on your back? You’re so patient explaining everything and very clear, great video!
This is not safe for wearing. Please please don't recommend this to others. The stretchy fabric isn't made for back carrying it is very easy for them to flip all the way out. The Wrapsody baby carrier is a woven wrap with some stretch and can be used for front and back carries. That is a safer option. I am glad to see more Black Babywearers, but I also want you and others to be safe.
Looks pretty secure to me. Certainly you would feel your baby slipping down your back and could sit down to readjust. No mama is going to let their baby just fall on the ground.
I don't think baby can flip out using this method. They can certainly slip out of the stretchy wrap using the usual method of doing the x on the fabric first then covering their bottoms, but this lady inverted it and has triple security with the fabric flat and under baby's bottom first, then the x over baby back and then the fabric holds baby's bottom and feet securely last. Looks like a good recommendation to me!
Hi there! I’m a CBWS certified babywearing educator with 14 years experience! I just wanted to let you know that stretchy wraps-Boba, Solly, etc-are NOT intended for back carries of any kind. They’re not meant to carry babies on the back due to the nature of the fabric and it’s inability to stay taught at the rails. Woven wraps are what we use for back carries, in addition to soft-structured carriers and other styles. But stretchy wraps are a huge no-no for back carries of any kind. It’s dangerous and can lead to serious injury; babies/toddlers can fall out of a stretchy wrap in a back carry. Smaller babies can also suffocate.
@@aileencitaaa stretchy wraps like this stretch and sag while you're wearing them. Baby can easily flip backwards because of the stretch. A woven wrap or a "hybrid" stretchy is safe for back wrapping.
I honestly don't understand why it's a no no to use a stretchy wrap for back carrying but it's just fine for front carrying. Can someone explain please?
Yes, It is deemed "unsafe" in the baby wearing community because the kid can potentially get out. I use it and it works just fine and I am now on my 3rd baby with success. I believe people should just do their research and make an educated decision based off of their own personal comfort level, that way one can take responsibility for your choice. Happy Baby Wearing :) Here is a great article that explains a bit further in detail: (copy and paste) www.google.com/amp/s/snugdotlove.wordpress.com/2016/12/11/back-carrying-in-a-stretchy-wrap-the-leg-of-lamb-debate/amp/
In front you can monitor and see if baby goes into a funny position or anything is off and you can also more easily monitor their breathing. Back carries need to be done with extremely supportive material and correct method as they’re inherently more risky because baby is harder to monitor and your arms cannot easily fix an issue or catch a baby that needs caught.
Thank u for not editing out how you struggled! Now lets do this !
100% agreed!
Right!
Yeessss lol she was amazingly real
Thank you for this I thought I could only use this for the front
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I’ve wanted to wear my son on my back like I’ve seen the women in some countries in Africa do. Wearing him forward facing kills my back and I can never get anything done. I LOVE this video! I kept giving up because everyone made it look so graceful I felt like I wasn’t doing it right! Thank you for being real!
You just saved an overwhelmed mama. Thank you so so so much
I'm so glad!
I’m not a mom, but I watch my baby cousins often while their parents work and such, so this method really helps me get things done without baby being fussy! Thank you for sharing :)
Damn I'm outta shape because I was dying bending over like that trying to restrain my monster 😂
Victoria Rios 🤣 lol! Best of luck to you
😂😂😂
God bless you for this! I love my little lady and needed a way to have her with me instead of crying when I do chores. Thanks again!
Omgosh I loved that video! Thank you for not editing and just for the raw footage!

When she said hiiiiii, my heart melted 🥰
i was watching my baby sister i had her in there for a hot 5min and she’s knocked out 😴 so precious
Thank you!!! I felt like her feet were super restricted so I let them out of the wrap and then doubled over my shoulders so she was more secure. I think this is going to take some practice.
So, what if you have short, fat arms?!? 😂😭😂
Oh no girl, don't cup the feet inside the wrap like that. Get yourself a woven wrap so you can get her higher up and wrapped properly.
Finally a real tutorial with struggles and all 😂 new subscriber thank you for taking the time to show me how.
Super helpful!!! Actually succeeded this time w a back wrap. All the other tutorials I’ve seen were not helpful! Thank you!
Not glamorous but EXACTLY WHAT WAS NEEDED 👏👏👏👏
Your daughter is so beautiful and was such a great sport about it! Thank you for this tutorial! I just tried it but lost hope once my toddler started pulling my ears 😭 I will keep trying until we get it! ❤️

She is a paid actor! “Hiiii” so cute!
It is not recommended to do back carriers with a stretchy wrap. Because it will not be secure enough
This is awesome! Thank you soo much for this video. You baby girl is adorable and is the best to try the baby wrap with. She is so calm and such a little cutie. 🥰🥰
Thank you Sis. We’re graduating from front carrying to the back over here, baby girls legs are finally long enough, and she’s so heavy lol.
Your daughter is so adorable!! Thanks for the tutorial, can’t wait to try this with my son.

Watch the whole video with a smile on my face! Really nice to see and for sure I will try it out 😍 take care!

How bout with a wrap not a boba. Not a stretchy. Not something dangerous. This is dangerous. Use the correct wrap and be safe.
I can now carry my baby around the farm with so much ease!! Thank YOU!!!
THANK YOU so much!! Cant wait try try this with my son. You’re little one is so cute!
Thanks for the tutorial. Your baby is the cutest thing.
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Thank you for not editing this!!❤❤❤
Thank you. My son is fussy and dad is at the gym while I’m trying to fry chicken. I needed him in the back.
She back there having a ball 😊 snug as a bug. Great example thanks
She says, "Hiii" 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
I never comment on RUclips videos, but this is amazing. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for so long! You made it look so easy! Thank you!

Thanks for this video. I have an unused boba wrap and have been looking for a way to back carry. Going to try it out today!

I agree with others that baby needed to be more secure with a linen or woolen wrap, and legs should be free.
I’ve always wanted to learn how to do this as it looks so comfy and practical. My baby is just over 1 years old now. Am I too late to carry him on my back? I just know he’d love it as well as me. Any help would be appreciated ❤️
Awesome video!! Very informative, and thank you for showing the whole process w/ troubleshooting. You're wonderful!
This had me cracking up! Haha but I love the real-ness! Very helpful, thank u!
And this is why moms are bad ass

Bless your heart for this video. If this were Reddit, I’d award you gold.
Nice ! Could you plz give me the measurement of this piece of cloth ?!
So unbelievably helpful!! Thank you so much for sharing authentically!
Your daughter is adorable! How old was she in this video? Or how old was she when you started to wear her on your back? You’re so patient explaining everything and very clear, great video!
Agree
thank you so much for this. Been trying to find a way that fits me and my baby well. Your technique is great for us!
Ur baby is too cute. Thank you for the help.

Thank you! I hope that I can get my 12m old mounted on my back
She's adorable

Hello, thank you. What age would you recommend this position for? Thanks.
Stretchy wraps tend to not be recommended for back carry...Woven wraps are better for a safer back carry ❤
Thank you I thought I would have to cut my wrap so I could do the African baby wrap method.
Thank you so much, I appreciate you🥰🥰 First time doing it and it was easy! Now I can get to mommy duties🧚🏽♀️
Great video. Off topic I'm in love with your voice and the way you speak! I wish you vould read all directions to me lol.
Amazing skills and finally found some useful help! Thankkkkkk uuuuuuuuu

Hi thanks for comment! Sorry for late response. It has worked well for me with no issues. If I ever get tired I just take the kiddo down
Girl you are a boss!!!!
EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!
Omgosh I love you. This is great!
Ah, amazing, thankyou, I'm excited to try this 😍 you guys are just adorable x
