Plug as an NPC is a master class on how you as DM can ALWAYS go more insane than your players. Brennan makes the party look more normal by making the world around then BUCKWILD.
honestly i can think of like 3 separate characters off the top of my head that are proof that he can go crazier then the players, we have aurther from fantasy high, avanash from bloodkeep, plug from star stuck odyssey, i’m sure there’s plenty more. EDIT: i completely forgot about Swifty from a crown of candy, that’s another one. but tbh “WHAT’S WRONG WITH WANTING TO KEEP YOUR BONES!” is something that shall stay in my brain forever.
He said it himself in interviews, that that's just the effect of the world of Starstruck. Since the world is chaotic his characters need to reflect that.
Brennan mentioned a few times how funny it was that he had this world that was insane and open for so much shenanigans and the party honed down on the rules.
Just the unexplained madness of him snorting some kublicaine, misty stepping into a chest under the stuff hut, and then astral projecting into their ship during the casino opening so he can get them to get him out of it, sends me.

I love watching Emily latching so strongly onto the various unhinged NPCs that Brennan makes up. He wasn't ready for it in Fantasy High but I think with Plug, he just knew.
Plug was just the epitome of that npc that your players love and adopt but you as the dm also love him so you can run wild with him and reward your players with more screentime for him when they are down
Brennan is fantastic all around. The way he embodies his characters... it's unreal. The way he messes up certain words, burps unexpectedly, and whistles when he talks as Plugg is absolutely incredible... but when he says "Salad bowl," and looks around the room with a tight-lipped smile, clearly proud of himself for having said the funniest thing ever... he looked EXACTLY like every old man I've ever met. Again, BLM is god-tier.
By far one of the best campaigns they've done, and that's tough to say considering my favorites are crown of candy and unsleeping city. Unbelievably entertaining and well played by all.
The gun boots that only shoot straight down are such a funny bit, I love them so much. Also, they're in space for most of it? It's just really funny to think about how nonsensical the concept of "down" is, in addition to the idea of how useless it would be to have downward-facing gun boots irl
