A good sales person will call you back even if there is no deal. They may not get your business right then but Its how good sales person develops their clientele
I found they don't call you back because you are smarter than them. And you are a good negotiater and they know they can't bully you. They like weak, intimidated people.
I have a dealership that accepted my terms from my Bank and everything. All I needed to do was put my down payment down and sign off on the car. I asked for the car to be cleaned, add the original floor mates, and look over the battery and breaks for safety reasons, also to give me a define return policy time frame as most places will give you 5 to 7 days to return the car if you want something different. My bank was ready to cut the check ,and the dealership just faded?
Same situation that happened to me except right as we're about to sign on an almost new car they tell me there's no 2nd key and I can get it in my own for 200 then we agree to meet half way on that but they played games, changed paperwork and only took off 10 bucks, it was getting late and then they changed the paperwork again only reflecting a little more than that off so I walked mostly out principal but I did want the car. Sales manager never dealt with me and I think if they don't call me I'll assume I was already too savvy for them & they know they can't get me in the financial add ons. Best of luck to you!
You forgot the #1 reason they won't call you back. My local subaru dealership offered a lease deal of $2k down at $250 a month on a new outback via internet ,tv comercials, newspaper etc. Call them about it and they all of a sudden don't have that car anymore but they can get you in a another trim of outback but with much more money down and much higher payment. If you DEMAND what they offered originally only then they will NEVER call you back. Oh I forgot to mention this personally happened to me at Olathe subaru in Olathe KS.
All I wanted was a Chevy in Havana Brown color. I told them get one in give me a call. Just FYI my credit score is 817 I did tell them I did not plan on trading my truck in. I did not tell them I planned on just paying cash unless I could get less than 1% interest. TC They never did call
Good stuff. I fit into #4. Their website showed the cars in-stock; but they were really already sold. When I asked them to contact me when they get more in-stock, I got crickets!
Good information. I have a lease ending this month. Been researching for over a month and test driving the 3 models. Now it's time to negotiate so uts good to know why salesman won't call you back.
That’s very true. I still feel that if the dealership doesn’t want to call you back that they can at least email you. Another point, if there’s no problem and they want you to buy then they will call you back fairly quickly.
My mannn I gotta thank for all the videos. Recently sold my lease to carmax and got positive equity out of it. Than got another lease and used all your tips and signed a great deal with $0 DAS. Appreciate all the videos man you’ve helped me a lot
I will attest to #3. I remember the dealer telling me that they were not having any problem selling the model I wanted for more than I was willing to pay. I wouldn’t budge, he didn’t call.
There is nothing legal stopping a car dealer from being lazy and greedy at the same time. Why should I sell it to you at 20 percent less than average when there are so many other people who would gladly pay whatever price he/she posted on the item? High demand leads to car dealers being not willing to cut the price.
@@gwillis01 I don’t deal with either lazy or greedy salespeople. And no, there’s nothing illegal about it. Greed, unfortunately, is part of a capitalistic society.
@@gwillis01 I'm in this exact situation currently. I'm in the market for a vehicle that isn't selling according to the data that I've researched. This particular model is sitting on multiple dealer lot for 45-60 days, some approaching 100 days. The dealership is hard pressed not to sell it to me 4-5k less than asking. So they would rather wholesale or auction these units before selling to willing and able buyer. It's quite ridiculous, in my opinion.
Looking at the 2021 F150. Seen it on RUclips and TV commercials but finally wanted to see it in person and test drive. Barely got to sit in it and no test drive. They could not find the keys. Unbelievable. I know that supply is low and demand is high.
I was trying to buy a truck last month, there was this dealer listed a very tempting price, I contacted them and got a OTD price with 2000+ added bs fees. They said the truck is very popular and got a lot of request. I asked what's this 2000 fees. They never got back. The next day I saw the price listed went up 1500. I ended up with a truck 1 year older but 12k miles less and fully loaded with all options. A month later that truck is still there and the manager called me back....
I asked 2 different Ford dealers to give me a quote for how much it would be to replace a drivers seat cushion and replace the cover on the seat back. They both put me hold for 20 minutes and then hung up....apart from terrible customer service, was it because it wasnt worth while for them?
I have a 2017 Nissan rogue SL.. 74,000 mi excellent condition.. they offer me 13 grand for it.. I owe 6 Grand on it.. I was looking at a 2022 Buick envision I asked if I could get it certified he said he'd get back with me. Never did.. My credit score is 856..😳🤔
Hey Ari, called Herb’s BMW up there yesterday to lease a “toy” i3 per BMW promo, saleswoman says great, can you do a conf call with out of state closer at 6. Sure. No call…nothing. Crazy times…huh?
As always, great info. Thanks ari.. Also, i finally found my M.. 2015 Q70S 5.6X.. So yummy 😆 thanks again for the timeless info. Even after purchase i will continue to watch and share.. Have a great week
Damn I wish they would stop calling me. Just took my Toyota in for an oil change non-stop calls non-stop emails. Do you want to sell your car do you want to trade it in.
Some guys in Alabama lost my business because they wouldn't call me when they said they would and took days to get me the information (often after I had to chase them, leave messages, email, etc). Sucks because they had best price I could find for my car. My guess is they're weren't as used to dealing with someone from out of state? 🤷♂️
Hey Ari, Can you help me negotiate a Highlander in Ontario Canada? I've been told by couple of dealers that I need to wait 4 months to get a hybrid Rav4 or a hybrid Highlander. They are not willing to negotiate any price and the announced interest rates are north 5% !!! Can this be true noting the Rav4 is manufactured here in Ontario?!
What’s happenin Ari, I live in LA and called out of state dealers inquiring about new cars they have advertised on Auto Trader. I’d speak to the sale guy on the phone and simply for photos and the window sticker so I can see the exact options. I’ve been ghosted like 3 times by 3 different dealers. Any idea why? Thx
that's a #3 for me...Actually they call me back quickly...then realize I'm not going to be retailed ,and move on to a different customer who will pay whatever...understandable...I would do the same if i was them
Could another reason also be that maybe you know too much, and you laughed at the addendum sticker? Example: you’ve been to leasehacker, Truecar or Edmunds, and you’re loaded for bear.
A long time ago I got arrested for drag racing and attempting to flee. I think they wanted to keep my car but I owed more than the car was worth. So they gave up on that plan. I guess they have to pay off the car if they want to auction it off.
Dealers would do much better by treating every customer with respect, bottom line regardless, too much game playing and BS! I hate dealing with car salesman
There is no car available that people are asking for because that is another manufacturer and dealership scam that you won’t tell everyone. The scam is only to manufacturer a vehicle with only certain options and not fully loaded. Reason, the dealership scam is for the Salesman to tell you we can do all of those other options at our dealership and use a new vehicle in their lot or get it from another dealership, more cost to you. Well, of course the dealership can do these extra options at the cost of the part being higher and you paying more for that and paying a higher labor cost at the dealership. That is the new dealership trying to order a new loaded vehicle order scam. It would cost a person less to have it built on the assembly line and order, but the Dealership will not order unless you pay MSRP or over price minus a few incentives off. 😂 Scammers! Reason, I am not getting a call back. They are looking for suckers and we have millions in this country and they know it. They don’t need to bother with the so called educated vehicle buyer headache so to speak. Pathetic Scammers is all they are!
