Don’t get discouraged-most of your needs are cosmetic and extras. When I downsized, pay as you go deal, I actually painted the subfloor until I could get what I wanted. Good luck.

This is definitely inspiring. I'm working on finishing up college and I have been really interested in finding me some land and doing the shed to house myself. It will take some time I'm nowhere near close to having the money to even get started now. My wife and I are living paycheck to paycheck until I'm done with school but I subscribed and enjoying watching your journey. It is giving me an idea of what steps to take so I thank you for that. 😊 the ultimate goal is to be out of debt at some point! And not be completely off grid but I want to have a huge garden ❤ might be off grid for a bit who knows lol
Vinyl plank flooring is super easy to install and you can cut it with a utility knife. I actually installed over 1,000 sq. ft. in my house and it's gorgeous and waterproof. As for the mudding and taping, watch a lot of RUclips videos first. I had a heater installed in my bathroom and the electrician had to go through the ceiling. As a result, I had to mud and tape the hole in the ceiling. It came out great but I watched a lot of videos first. You can do it, saving money was a great motivator for me.
Buy the best contact paper you can afford and affix it to the plywood counters. They will look awesome !!!! Get cheap paint and paint, from the "oops" area and paint your floors. They will also look wonderful and you can get cheap rugs (Goodwill, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity) and put them down your floor will be hidden. The puppy is sleeping like a pulled a double shift and paid all the bills. 🤣🤣😂😂
If you can’t buy other stuff, maybe you could buy some paint and cover the floors like that. I’m seen some turn out well and it looks better that regular plywood 🤷♀️

I've seen video where they applied contact paper on their counter tops for a-tempoary fix may save wood from warping or splintering
