I used Fast Growing Trees and like them a lot! I ordered an avocado tree from them and it came in a long narrow box that was well-packed. The tree was healthy then and huge now! I am familiar with what you want to plant and I think it's a good choice. Follow the spacing recommendations and you will have the privacy you want. Blessings from the Oregon Coast. P.S. Looking forward to watching Reese grow up!

Thank you SO much! I'm so glad to hear it, I think that's what I'll do. I appreciate it Melanie! ❤️

Porches is a good idea. Do the one that would be of greatest benefit first then continue with the inside of house.
A nice big covered porch is protection from the elements as you can cut, paint and build stuff for the inside in comfort.
And to not make it too obvious that you're planting those trees for privacy put raised garded beds along your driveway. Privacy, food and fruits at the same time.

Ooh I like that idea! Would it be too much sun though? There's zero shade over there 🤔

Those trees along the driveway would look so beautiful!

That's a great idea for the trees along the side. I would rethink the doggy door, since you live in the woods. I know someone who had critters come through the door.

My doggie door has an insert to keep critters out. I use it at night. Love my dogs to be able to come & go as they please :)

I think mine has the lock for nighttime, it's been so long since I bought it though I'll have to check. 🤔

Looks like you're in East Texas judging from the size of your trees. When we moved here we moved to a rented house in Arlington because it was close to Fort Worth where I already had a job as an RN at one of the hospitals. After renting a year we bought a house on 5 acres just outside of Cleburne and that's where I raised my daughters. I divorced a husband who was becoming abusive in late 90's, my younger daughter was the only one home and she was 14. Met my second husband 4 years later, sold the 5 acre property and moved to my husband's much larger (2300 square foot) house on 12 acres. We lived there for 13 years until a highway was built directly from Fort Worth to Cleburne. We didn't want to live in a highly populated area so in January of 2014 we moved to our 16+ acres retirement property in Comanche County, Texas. We paid off our land and everything else with money from the sale, parked our RV on our land and built our 960 Sq ft house (so we greatly downsized) I love it here, we are 4 miles from the tiny town of Gorman and FAR from any city. Abilene is the closest at 83 miles. My husband built our house so we know everything about it! This is where we'll stay.

Thanks for sharing, you've sure been through it. So glad to hear your happy ending! Downsizing should be more popular LOL, it's very freeing. Congrats! ❤️

Definitely finish the inside first….then the garage shed……it should be cooler by the time you finish those projects and then Tyler can work outside without dying from the heat. 😂

Thank you, I think we're going to have to, I can't see the poor kid out in this heat. It's AWFUL! 🔥

I bought a couple of Japanese maple trees as gifts from Fast Growing Trees. They were in great shape when they came and were surprisingly much bigger than I expected. They are both doing well at their respective homes. I would absolutely recommend FGT to anyone.
    PS
I've been looking at the Thuja Green Giant trees! They actually get pretty big, though, 30-40 ft. tall and 5-8 ft. wide. I think I might rather opt for the Junior Giant, at 15-20 ft. tall and 3-5 ft. wide, or even the Baby Giant, at 14 ft. tall and 6 ft. wide. I'm only wanting to block cars from view, not two story houses.
FYI, they have gardenias right now too! I love the incomparable scent of gardenia blossoms on the evening breeze! Ahhh!

Thanks so much for the info! I'm waffling between the Giant and the Junior Giant .. 😁

Fast growing trees is a great company.

Why don’t you extend your drive way by your house all the way to your fence line. That would give you more room there. Ask your neighbor if you ordered some fast growing trees if they would plant them on their side of the fence so you both would have some privacy

What a bummer in where they’re placing there home on their lot.

Yeah, it is. I'm just gonna have to get busy and order those trees, I guess.
