Great content as always Jay. Im currently playing the 225s and could not be happier with an iron. Played Mp 30s for years and these bad boys put them to shame. Had them bent weak for gap purposes. My confidence and scoring are at an all time high with Mizuno 225 irons....
Really happy that you are enjoying your golf Dean. The game of golf frustrating as it is sometimes is exactly that, a game. Which so many fail to remember and get so upset and down. Again really glad you are enjoying your golf, whether that is to do with your equipment or not 👍
@@AskGolfNut I prefer the 225s. I am going to get fit with open minded. I am trusting the fitter set me up with the correct set. Don't believe I could go wrong with either but if the numbers are close the 225s are coming home.
I moved from JPX900 Forged to MP225 and I hit the 225's miles better. I get more height, similar distance and more forgiveness. I also know much better in the 225's where I have hit the ball.
@@AskGolfNut I always lamented trading my JPX825 Pro's for the 900 Forged and never really got on with the 900's. They heralded a low point in my game and I am now clawing my way back!
I find the feel is influenced quite significantly by the ball. I play the ProV1 Left Dash which is a very firm ball. Feel changes quite a bit when I switch to a ProV1 or TP5 which are softer feeling balls
Very much so Sean, you are quite right. I do all my testing with the same type of ball as best as absolutely possible. I prefer a softer feel so have always gravitated towards the lower compression urethane balls. 👍
I just wish that Mizuno had not made the lofts 4° different between the 221 and 225 for comboing. 2° would be manageable for bounce and offset but 4 is too much
Agree for traditional number gapping..... I did a video about having two 7 irons..... 7 iron 221, 7 iron 225 half inch extra on the shaft for 225s 👍 correct gapping and the added help of the 225s in the longer irons 👍
Strange that, as normally a nominally low strike would effect launch slightly but gear spin upwards. A ball flight as you said would suggest a vertical low point issue rather than poor club performance. Would have been interesting testing the same head in a slightly heavier shaft... 🤔 Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
For the most part I like your channel but how can you do a comparison when you don't even show the playing view of the clubs together people like to see what the clubs look like compared to each other that's a big deal
Also appreciate you weren't overly negative with the feedback. Always happy to receive constructive feedback as all my content is designed to help the golfer 👍
In reality your question is quite a complex answer....... Watch this video that I did explaining everything so you'll be able to answer it for yourself 👍👍 ruclips.net/video/AnEnsLbcJfE/видео.html
I have the 225's in Steelfibers and absolutely love them to bits!

Thank you, Thank you. For me this video is exactly as I am upgrading my JPX 919 Forged
Hi kfree1966 glad you liked the video, which one do you think you'll be going for?

Hi John, the JPX900 Forged was a little bit of an ugly duckling, the design wasn't great and was quickly remedied in the 919 launch 👍

Very interesting. I think I got along better with the 921 Forged.

Jay I had a set of jpx 921 forged and found them unforgiving off a low strike. Eventually swapped them for homna tr20p irons.
Hi Iain, I guess it all depends on how low low is 😀
@@AskGolfNut Jay, unfortunately I don't have a quad to measure my strike, but I found the low strike to just drop out the air

@@AskGolfNut yeah, quite possibly. Was a modus 105s shaft in the mizuno. Recently hit the 225 Pro with a Dg 105s and it performed exceptionally

@@AskGolfNut really looking forward to your review of the new strixon X7 when do you think you're going to get your hands on those
Are the JPX Hot Metal Pro irons more forgiving than the Mizuno Pro 225? Does the Pro 225 have higher spin? Thanks!
Hi Joe, like for like, yes and yes 😀
Haha!! Thanks!!
AKN. You will amazed at the increase in your 7i distance at 88-92 mph, with Steel Fiber 1i110Ss, maybe soft stepped
@@AskGolfNut Hi again!! Do you think the 8 iron and through gap wedge are much more playable in the Pro 225 vs the HM Pro?
For me the Pro 225s as there are smaller blade lengths flowing into the T22 wedges 👍
Hi Jay,
What's more forgiving jpx923 forged or mp225?
Oooo that's a difficult one. I'll do a video on that 😉👍
@AskGolfNut thank you looking forward to it
are these iron suitable for 20hcp player?
