Beard Blade is a razor-sharp 2D platformer inspired by classic titles from the 16-bit era.
Branson’s adventure begins when a crew of thieves ransack his farm and make off into the night with his livestock. Equipped with nothing but a shapeshifting beard, Branson sets out to reclaim his livelihood from The Smuglins and return home.

I loved the game so much, one of the few steam games where i completely got into right away. Reminds me a lot of super mario world and donkey kong country 2 (and a little bit of mickey mania for snes?)

just played it and completed it today...this was cute, like really Really REALLY cute ♥♥♥ 😚
With the charisma of those 80-90's japanese plataformer (reminds me of joe and mac levels of visual style...but the controls are actually awesome and fluid! not crappy like the aforementioned 😅) and as silly as the "magical-beard" concept is, looking the sprites is mesmerizing, is so fun to see the beard attack animation (the"chomp" one mostly) and it was really fun to control and get those tricky smuglin coins.
MY GODNESS the visual department is the best part of it, it looks B E A U T I F U L.
thank you for this game, it made me smile...a LOT, and this is why i love about indie devs: making odd concepts work...somehow.

Nope, it is a traditional platformer with levels and not one giant map. I suppose you could say there are some elements of Metroidvanias here, though
