masakasama The draping, the tailoring, the considerations made for fabric and even zipper types chosen, the construction itself - so much work had to go into the creation of this dress. It literally belongs in the MoMA collections.
Brian About Town Oh Brian You are HYSTERICAL! You should see some of the troll comments that have been removed. Just rude and unnecessary. Thanks for your continued support! Doris
How can anyone troll anything that Doris does! How rude and ungrateful! Lot’s of people in this industry share nothing at all. I’ve had to research and search on my own because so many people hide their treasures so close to their chests that it becomes impossible to break through it. I’ve never wanted to know where people source their wares. But it’s so special that a lovely woman like Doris is not threatened and happy to share her love and knowledge and be helpful to us keen collectors in the vintage industry!! So, to the trolls out there - if you don’t like it. Keep your petty comments to yourself and carry on supporting your local H&M and Indian sweatshops!!
Matthew Needham I ops you can visit the store too. Nothing can replace the visceral experience of seeing and touching in person. All the best wishes for you Matthew!
Love your videos. The ear muffs have the face of Howdy Doody on them. A very big time puppet here in the Midwest. Especially Michigan in the fifties. How charming.
I had a dream I was at this store and Doris was tpuring me around. I remember I bought a knitted dress and a printed floral vest... Then you showed me a brooch amd a vintage tasseled gold with brown velvet body. It was so beautiful. ... Shux what a dream.
I love whimsy. Today it was bitterly cold (20°F.) I wore a tropical floral teal maxi dress with a coordinating blue sweater and fleece leggings under. Of course I had blue and green eyeshadow on. Cheers me up on such a cold day. Got several compliments.
Wonderful hon! I shall have to get you some photos of what the extraordinary Sharon Chamberland is doing with doll heads, too. The life jacket is the best bit of post modern humor, just love that. Kids are reproducing a lot of this stuff these days, and I think that is ok, it really is all about self expression and thinking outside the cubicle. But my dear, what I am fascinated with is what you are wearing! The pattern is putting itself together in my mind as you move.
Thank you im happily sewing away while watching your programes that I have just found today ! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You ! you have made my day ! Wonderful !Wonderful !Wonderful!
Doris, you are such a dear! I love whinsical designs, I always try to add something to my wardrobe that gives me a smile, but I'm also afraid to become Edina Monsoon at the same time hahaha!
The face on Versace shirt was Pet Shop Boys group leader from the 80'. There was a song him in the crown but I don't remember the name of the song. I love vintage, have many pieces of Dior, Krizia, Versace and love your Chanel. Recently bought Palm Beach Lilly Pulitzer vintage pants for $5. Love fashion and how you present it to the audience. Thank you lovely lady❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Doris! Being in the fashion industry and love it so I never want to stop learning. Thank you for adding your great knowledge to my fashion education !!!❤️
I adore your videos! Your collection and knowledge is truly inspiring. I look forward to every new video. I would absolutely love to see a video including the fabulous shoes you must have in your collection. Xx
I have been enjoying how you curate the themes for your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It definitely makes me look at my own wardrobe alittle differently
This reminds me of the camp exhibit at the Met - it’s what this the Met Gala was based off this year, and whilst I (shockingly) wasn’t invited, there’s a video about the exhibit called “Camp: Notes on Fashion Gallery views”.
Amazing pieces. Pal Kepenyes reminds me of one of my favorite designers, Selda Okutan from Turkey. I have several of her pieces, and each are a work of art. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
I would wear ANY of those silk Versace mens' shirts. I don't know where I'd wear them, but I'm quite sure I would stop traffic in them. They are fabulous. Thank you Doris.
Hey dear lady! You're looking so smashing and cosmopolitan...and I looove everything about you and your boutique. 😍😍😍 so therefore I started to follow you as a subscriber. Thank God for you
So happy you are happy Patricia!! We try to post new items on Thursday ... just a tip. Now that we have your measurements, we can email you from time to time. You have classic style and taste. Many thanks is doe your kind words and for your business! Beat regards- Doris
Great video! I love it! Thank-you! What do you think of John Galliano for Dior´s 2001 Trailer Trash handbags? To me they are visual story-time and make my day every time I look at one.

I love the pink cat top and boots. I would wear them with the Bat Man word pants. At the same time!!! I would dare anyone to say anything. Both are wonderful! Probably would not fit, but I sure wish they were my size.
I’d love to visit this shop but I live in NY 😭 Going to NYC for a day for family holiday, and am hoping to go to the vintage thrift market and the garment district 🙂
I thought you'd be interested to know: Marilyn Monroe posed in a potato sack dress (apparently made from an actual potato sack) after an offended critic suggested it would be more modest for her to appear in one - the studio thought, well, let's see
Doris, can you please adopt me? As a fashion student since I know myself as a person I just wanna work everyday by your side and learn, you are one of my role models in this life.
Júlia Brümmer Hi Jülia! Thank you for your compliment. I’m sure there’s a really good vintage clothing store near you. Start there. Hands on the inventory can be really inspiring.
Hi there. I haven’t seen this episode in a while. Is the name Pal Kepenyes what you’re looking for? His pieces are really getting up there in value and pricing. If you google bronze brutalist jewelry artist- a little of names comes up. Some I’m not familiar with. Have fun and message me anytime I’d you have more questions. Be well. Doris
@@thewaywewore7371 yes, that is the one thank you as I believe I have a sterling pendant similar to the one you've shared. Okay, the tailoring on that zipper dress is INSANE! Such amazing design acumen and craftsmanship.

I would love for you to do an episode on Schiaparelli!
Oh yes!! Id love to see that too
YES YES AND YES
Ja'Corey Lamont Hi there! I would have to mortgage my home for the privilege of having a Schiaparelli! Wish I could do that episode
Schiaparelli was Marisa & Berry Berenson's grandmother. Berry who died on 9/11 was on Flight 11 flown into the tower. She was Tony Perkins widow.
.... WHIM-WHAM..... love it!
Btw..... whomever thumbs downed this... you’re cursed to a lifetime of clothing from old navy..... no fashion for you

Matthew Needham Hi Matthew! Did you see the Margiela episode?
Hi! Yes I did, it was great! Thank you 🙏 I really hope to be able to visit the store in person.
A Helmut Lang episode to continue would also be amazing! The ‘paper bag’ is amazing.
Matthew Needham Wish I had some good examples of the real Helmut Lang. ☹️

I googled the address and it DOES exist!
I wanted to find out the designer of the broze earing and necklace set. Could you please write his name. I can't find him 😕
That's the faxe of Howdy Doody on the earmuffs.
