Thanks for watching! The FG and FS series differ by their size. The FG projects more bottom end and the FS has more mid-range presence. Lots of singer-songwriters prefer the later. The FG has the more traditional acoustic guitar size and sound. Hope this helps!

@@kumikaKiwi hello! Sorry for the late reply I find it difficult to make general observations such as the effect of the finish on the tone. Every guitar is the combination of several factors. For example, a very light, porous coat could be covering a completely lifeless piece of wood or a thick glossy finish could be used on a resonant tone wood. You still would have to judge by yourself and compare the two. I think the solution in the end is to see for yourself, what gives you that awesome feeling. Also, the more you experiment and take note of what you like and don’t, the faster you get at determining if a guitar is right for you! I hope this helps :)
