Twisted chassis, rolled container, ALL BAD

  • Twisted chassis, rolled container, ALL BAD! Here we go again with a loaded container rollover with no space. And yet again, a job where rotators are king and shine here. I responded with Hulk, my 50ton rotator, and Alex responded with our 75ton rotator, Big Flipper. Originally it came in as the tractor rolled over, but upon arrival it was clear the tractor was upright, with the container off the chassis.
What made this very hard was the container was not fully off the chassis, and seemed to be stuck in the bottom container hole. I fully expected the chassis to remain bent and twisted as they often are, but to my surprise the chassis retained its memory and literally snapped back into place once the lock came loose. It looks scary of course, but in anticipation for that Alex had a catch line with the line of action way over the center to do exactly that, catch. So despite the ugly recoil, it stayed in position and was set back down without ever hitting Big Flipper or being in real danger.
Onto the flip itself, it was pretty routine for our standards. Lift and catch off the side, bringing it up and over then pushing it out enough to get the new chassis under it. The curve was tight, so the driver did his best then the rotators worked their magic to get it right onto the locks. All in all another good job. What did you guys think?

How could Pepe make such a big mistake? Why did he keep tension on the cables although he was aware of the fact that the chasis is twisted and may bump into his truck? I would have tried to pull the chassis over to my truck at first (because the tension would then be lower) and then i would have tried to lift the truck to wiggle the connection loose...

DAAAAMMMNNN DUDE!!!!! I jumped like 3 feet!!!! That was NUTS!! It was close but, it did NOT hit Big Flipper so, basically, *perfect*!! Also perfect that you put that at the very beginning of the video. BOOM goes the dynamite!! You all payin attention now?? Spider is awesome!! He just seems to add a little extra something to the video. AWESOME video and job VERY well done!! Take care and be safe out there!!

Yeah that’s scary. Your lucky stars were with you. Your insurance premiums could have gone up. But I thank you for showing that. My constructive hindsight idea though is to use the container as a redirect to reverse catch the chassis

I noticed the first trailer was licensed in Tennessee but the second was licensed in California. I've seen a lot of container trailers with Tennessee license plates. It must be cheaper to license them there. I know it's cheap to license trailers in Maine. Budweiser licensed all of there trailers in Maine even though very few ever went to Maine.
