Brilliant! I’ve avoided French tips because of the perceived “geometry “ involved. I will definitely give this a whirl. Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing! 💕✌️
I just found you in my RUclips suggestions and I'm glad I did..... I've been doing nails as a side hustle for more years than i can count and I've just gotten back into them since 2018 and even went to nail school and they don't teach you anything like this..... I've seen a version of this but not this exact one thank you for sharing......
I am new to this next generation on stick on tabs. I have a question... How do the tabs work with the full cover gel extension tips? Aren't the tips designed to have a "cushion" of gel between the natural nails and the tip? Do the tabs fill up that space?
I love how you did the French tips. As someone who has been doing my own nails for years, I still struggle with French tips. I’m definitely going to try this. I just subscribed to thanks for a great video!
For me started doing spring nail design sets in February too and my clients are all for it. It gets me excited for spring. Great job on your French nail design
Awesome hack! Thank you. I wear my nails much shorter, so I'll need to play with where to start the guidelines, but this gives me hope. 😅 I tried one a few days ago, and it came out fine, but took me far too long.
I am so ready for spring nails. But for now my nails are naked. I’m just trying to let them grow. This is so beautiful Marla!! You make everything look so easy!❤
Omg I love these colors! This is my perfect French manicure! 😍 I am ready for spring manis and I did one last night, which I'm probably gonna change now that I've seen this. Lol I can't get over how perfect that nude is for you!
I wear gel x nails and polygel nails and I get asked to do "real peoples nails" all the time so not every person wears nail extensions but LOTS OF PEOPLE DO real people so who ever said that knows nothing thanks for showing us Marla
Wow. I haven't watched to many nail videos in the last few months after loosing my house and all my nail things (btw Insurance Companies suck) but I seen this one and this is brilliant! I'm watching it again! They look great P.s. i still think you have beautiful hands, even without nails done!
You’re so dang sweet to me 🥹 and please DM me if there’s anything I can do to help! I have oodles of nail supplies in storage that would love a new home!
@jessicaleefeldt9661 OMG you both are so sweet. I appreciate the gesture. @marlaKris you sent me a small purple set to use in honor of my mom just like 5 months before the fire. might been shorter time frame my mind is toast, that touched me so deeply. I miss her so much ( I have lost 29 friends and family members in the last 4 years to include my dogs since they are family)
Perfect timing and so darned pretty! Yep I am ready for spring mani's and wanted to try a french (but with a V shape) and knew some sort of mathematical equation existed 😄 I guess my only quandary has been (how far up the sidewalls I should do it). Thanks for the amazing video once again Marla! Those are gorgeous!
I absolutely love the 2nd color you opened, looks like a Teal ♥️ I truly suck at French tip polishing~~maybe if I could figure out how to detach my fingers it would be easier 😉
Ok i too have had the struggle with french lines!!! I can not wait to try this out! I could never do the clean up smile line Never! The best has been the dip method but I never could get the high line arch that I love. I will def try this out. Oh and some tutorials I have seen do this swoop without a real map so ya I failed it. Lol. Thank you!!!! I will let ya know how it goes!!! 😂
Yes that green is stunning and that orange too!! I love those colors but feel with my tan skin tone they look too bright on me and NOT in a good way… again that is what I feel/think that they just look like a sign on me but I could be wrong … I should just get it and don’t care what others think lol you have all used linked??
Love this hack! It assures consistent frenchies for your whole nail set... Which is something I have trouble with... Does this hack work for all nail shapes???... Thanks Marla❤
its actually better to show people.. show that people can grow. Show it really can be done and is obtainable. most people are scared to show their growth.
@@MarlaKris I’ll give it a try. I seldom do matte topcoat being a shiny, shiny girl. But, my nail art needs all the help it can get! Thank You for sharing! 😊
Thanks for telling us that you go nowhere. I do too and it's nice to hear I'm not the only one. But something it's sad that nobody sees my beautiful nails or makeup 😢
I get what you’re doing to a point. Shouldn’t you also have another horizontal line drawn where you’re going to start your angle at the very beginning? How can you be certain that you’re starting at the same points on both sides without another horizontal line? And then you can always get rid of the middle of this additional line with alcohol before you cure the polish. I have another method that I honestly couldn’t believe would work, but it does. This uses a jelly stamper that you would use with a stamping plate. It has to be with a stamper that is soft. You brush on your gel polish onto your stamper and then press your nail straight down into the stamper at a 90° angle (or whatever variation works best for you). The polish transfers to your nail, giving you the perfect French! This won’t give you the deep lines as you’ve done here. If this is the link you want, you’d have to extend your lines with an art brush as you’ve done here, but this method would give you the classic French look. You very quickly figure out how much polish to apply each time and how far to press your nail into your stamper to give you very consistent results with all of your nails. This method is so fast too.
@@MarlaKris my thumbs are square while the rest of my nails are round too! It wouldn’t surprise me if companies like Apres started coming out with square and rounded options for each style.
@@MarlaKris unfortunately, the individual sizes end up costing more than just buying the whole box. I feel the same way about the waste, but I’d rather waste nails than spend more. Plus, sometimes I have a coating on and need a bigger size. Maybe one day you will start a press on business and be glad you have them. Have you seen Mini Ami Press? She is pretty inspiring in that regard. Very type A. Warning: she will inspire you to buy Korean and Japanese gel products at which point you will never go back to Amazon gels and blow your entire annual nail budget in one order.
I have also tried the cleanup method for French tips; more times than I’d like to admit 😅 I have come to the conclusion that it all comes down to the brush. If the brush isn’t one of those super fancy expensive brushes, you can forget it lol.
no to criticize, but I don't know anyone in real life who wears fake nails. I wish more people would demonstrate on their own nails as that is what most of us are stuck doing. it's different than doing it on a detached larger piece of plastic that is completely maneuverable and you can use both hands, change the angles, rotate the "nail," etc. same with using someone else's nails to demonstrate. I know the camera complicates things for RUclipsrs but these kind of videos are not as helpful as when someone uses their own nails. the glitter polishes you used are nice, very pretty.
I know diy press ons aren’t for everyone and that’s ok! I have hundreds of natural nail videos on my channel to view. I recently switched to press ons bc years of natural nail demo destroyed my nails but I totally get where you’re coming from ❤️
Well maybe you could try searching nail art on natural nails or natural nail something!!! I know quite a lot of lady’s whom wear false nails! Great video gal ❤
I do my own nails all of the time. I practice by turning my hand so I can see my nail from many angles. Making sure you have a finger placed so that it steadies your hand as you work helps tremendously. Bottom line, you just have to practice. Marla, I've seen a similar version of this with fewer lines. I think this version will be much better for me. Can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Marla ♥️. Thank you for sharing! I tried doing it following your instructions and yay!!! I finally did it lol🎉

I have a question...
How do the tabs work with the full cover gel extension tips? Aren't the tips designed to have a "cushion" of gel between the natural nails and the tip? Do the tabs fill up that space?
It really depends on your natural nail and how curved or flat they are. I have a natural slight curve and they fit me perfectly.
Love this. I rarely do french but did recently and liked it. ❤
They came out very pretty, and it's true mak8ng a french nail is so hard but yours came out pretty ❤❤😊😊

Yes! I did a video on the stamper hack a couple years ago. It’s great! But first with super well for long or pointy nails
❤❤
It's a great method but it doesn't work for normal nail polish, because the lines start drying and remain visible through the polish. :/
What if you use a sheer, lighter color to road map it?
Yep added to cart, nothing new here 😂
