    NS’s and Exceders are my favorite horn strobes.

  • @ZakWolf
    @ZakWolf 5 лет назад +1

    Three of the buildings at my college have those horn/strobes, on addressable Notifier systems rebranded by Johnson Controls (two buildings share an NFS2-640, and the other has an NFS-320). The majority of the Exceeders are on large mounting plates, as the buildings were originally built in 1972 with old Standard Electric Time horn/lights, which were replaced in 2007-2008 with Space Age VA4 horn/strobes, and then those got replaced in 2012 with the Exceeders.

    I have a fire alarm like this in the dining hall at my school. And it went off last year because there was a fire in the kitchen.

    I’ve heard this alarm before it’s been like a year since I’ve heard it one time there was a recital going on and all of a sudden there was renovations going on at the performance arts center where the recital was and all of a sudden the fire alarms went off at least 10 times during the event especially when I arrived with people evacuated and hearing outdoor alarms that are connected to the alarms inside the building it startled me and was pretty annoying too since it went off more than 1 time but having ear drums ringing after took a few hours to recover from the sound

      Jaxon Lewis Thank You, But this needs to stop! You’ve been playing both sides, and I’m kinda sick of all of it. I thought we were good a while ago, but your comments this morning sparked yet another commotion. I seriously want a real apology and/or to know you truthfully mean it (end conflict). My trust in you may slowly come back, but isn’t likely to be immediate.

    Wait watching Carter's video on why you shouldn't put a fire alarm(horn/strobe) in a bathroom than that is a code violation. There was an Exceeder horn/strobe in the bathroom.

    • @TheFirePanel
      @TheFirePanel  3 года назад

      It's not a code violation. "Code" is an arbitrary term as it's really up to the authority having jurisdiction (local fire department usually) to decide what goes where. This system was relatively new so had to be approved by the AHJ so it is considered to be up to code.

      Bathroom walls and ceilings that aren’t made out of metal and tile (like in this video) get horn strobes installed in bathrooms because they’re normally loud just like in normal rooms, but with bathrooms with tile and metal, horn strobes can’t get installed in there because the tile and metal makes horn strobes much louder than in any other area which is why remote strobes get installed in these types of bathrooms with tile and metal

      I want to do the inspections so what do I need to do/my dad says I don't need to drop out because say I go to Johnson Controls and they say we don't need any inspectors at the moment but you can get installer experience in the mean time.

    Did these Exceders replace any fire alarm devices originally? Just curious cuz the office itself looks "old" to say lol 😄. Exceders are nice devices tbh in my opinion
    Great video! 😉

      +Zachary Fleck I bet. Wheelock Exceders have only been around like 10 years (which may not seem "too" new, but still). Pretty nice honestly to see them in a building like this too
