    Not only did this video show the advantages of your mount compared to the OEM, but this has to be the best instructional video on how to install transducers on an aluminum boat. Thanks so much!!

    I’m installing a Lowrance 2D Transducer on a deep V. Using a straight edge do I split the difference from left to right to get correct Vertical placement or should complete bottom of Transducer be flush with bottom of hull?

    Like your video. The only thing I would have done differently is the screw-hole locations. The middle screw should be at the top most spot in your bracket slot and the two outside screws should be at the bottom-most. The reason being is that if any come slightly loose it still will not be able to move the transducer up or down.

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  Год назад

      The only reason I run the screws across the middle is for much better ease of adjustment. With the large headed #12 screws I have yet to have any loosen and it gives me more than 2" of vertical adjustment. If the boat is in high stress situation once properly setup and tuned, I would sink another screws at the top of the slot.

    Hey Ryan, excellent video. Well done. Thanks for putting that together. May I ask, where did you find the piece of plastic you used as the board? I like the idea of having 1 inch thick as you describe, most products on the market are 3/4. Thanks. Great job.

    Nice video, don't forget you need to squirt sealant in the hole on a transom or it will rot.

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  3 года назад

      any previous holes or new holes are always filled with sealant before the board is put on BUT on this transom (the transom board is composite) and it is not located in the area where the transducers are so the screws go into nothing but aluminum.

    I am about to install a hummingbird Helix with side imaging, I willneed to buy and install a mounting board as you did.
    Do I have to lower the transduce below the bottem of the boat to get reading while running. Looks like your making them even with the bottom only. Did I miss something. Thanks for your video, it very helpful.

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  4 года назад +2

      Hello Anthony, I highly recommend a transducer board to avoid more holes in the transom! You will find with the stock Humminbird transducer bracket that it's not possible to lower the mount low enough to get good readings at speed because of its design. I also make a Humminbird Mega imaging transom mount that is very similar in design to the Lowrance mount and will allow you to lower it into good clean water. This is a link to it on the website. rytekmarine.com/products/rytek-humminbird-mhx-xm-hw-mega-mega-imaging-transom-transducer-mount-coming-soon?_pos=1&_sid=7696b1a6c&_ss=r

    • @rytekmarine6717

      It prevents it! Have it flush to the bottom and the water stream will deflect and cause issues. Always keep it up aprox 1/2"

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  4 года назад +1

      If done correctly like described...NEVER! I personally would never put a transducer board on an aluminum hull solely relaying on something like 3M 5200...Always add screws for a solid lifetime installation!

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  2 года назад +3

      It depends on the setback of the motor on the transom. My motor is an Evinrude G2 and does have a bit more setback than others. For some guys if they are using side scan they may have to trim the motor up slightly so the side scan beam clears the leg of the motor though!

    Thanks for the video, I have the 3D transducer from Laurence and the HDI 83/200 455/800 and wanted to ask some install these 1/2 to 1/4 below the surface of the boat and you do flush. Which way did you point the transducers after mounting was it parallel to the bottom up some degrees or down some?
    I watched people mostly push them down from level. Thanks

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  3 года назад +1

      for a 3D structure Scan I would personally keep it up off the bottom of the hull (no reason for it to be below the bottom of the boat at speed). For the HDI to work at speed it needs to be below the bottom of the hull skimming the water evenly. To achieve this I always make sure the transducer is parallel to the surface of the water and then kick the back end of the transducer up a degree or two which will help in achieving high speed readings

      @@rytekmarine6717 Quick question, my boat is a stern drive I/O so no matter where I place the 3D transducer it will hit the drive so I contacted Lowrance and asked if I could place another 3D transducer on the port side and then connect to the module as transducer 1 wire from starboard and transducer 2 wire from the port one. I have not tested that yet but any idea if it would work to get full spectrum?

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  2 года назад +1

      I have #10x3/4, #12x3/4 and #12x1" available on the site. As far as pre-drilling...Screws are roll formed meaning the treads are pressed into the shank...that causes inconsistency's in the inner shank size so I always start out on the small size and work up if needed....Hand tighten and if you feel to much resistance pull out and jump up a size

    Question please, having both transducers that close to each other "Do you have any interference issues?" I have a new Bass Tracker and I am planning to mount two transducers on the rear, a Garmin GT24 for my Garmin 63cv and a GT54 for my Garmin 93sv. Can you explain about your leveling process of the transducer? You mentioned the boat was level to the trailer.

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  2 года назад

      There are many different ways you can level it. You always need to level it on the water taking note of how the boat sits in the water. This can be done by the "levelling coin trick" you will find here on RUclips or just by looking at the water/scum line on the hull!. I take note of where it is, and then jack the trailer up accordingly until its at the point it sits level when in the water....NOW I do not personally level exactly to the water...I always kick the back end up slightly in order to achieve better readings at speed and this does not effect low speed readings.

    • @rytekmarine6717
      @rytekmarine6717  4 года назад +2

      You want your 3in1 (in my case its now a 2in1 as I no longer need the 2D in the 3in1 on the transom!) lowest so that the sidescan works as it shoots out from either side of the transducer. If the Structure Scan transducer was mounted higher up on the V with the 2D below it you would be shooting into the 2D with the sidescan! I can run at 50+ mph and read depth and mark fish with the TM150!
