usually no - you will have more consistent results if the tension is the same around the whole neckline. I honestly do not adjust during the entire process. If you are unhappy with the results you are better off removing, steaming it to get the fabric to recover and starting over.

I’m new to binding. What a a good size binder for garments and baby clothes? How did you cut the strips and what material to use?
Size is really a matter of taste. Cutting and fabric I cover in my full length video about the binder
